Late response flat chat busy weekend ! Fantastic video as always showing the beauty of Beppu ! This is the type of video I love to see. A bit of food, bit of sight seeing, accommodations, bit of culture experience that is what Japan is all about. There are hardly any decent contents of Fukuoka so it's great that you are doing this. Keep it up champ. 👍
Maaattee! Always such a legend in supporting my journey here - can’t thank you enough buddy, really means alot! I’m so glad you like the video as these are the ones I love to make where I can really show my version of Japan and get to share rad experiences or interactions. Definitely more Kyushu and Fukuoka based content to come for sure! Appreciate the feedback and support mate 🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵
Absolutely worth the visit - during peak winter in an outside onsen while it’s snowing is my what I need next. Matsubaya where I stayed, their onsens were so beautifully renovated!
Outdoor onsen while it's snowing would be absolutely amazing. I've done that in Yamagata before. Such an amazing experience mate! Book in that trip mate 🙋🏽♂️
I was wondering if you were going to showcase Beppu, definitely one of my favorite places in Kyushu. I’ve visited many onsens all over Japan, and Beppu is definitely one of my favorite places for Onsens. The plentiful onsens make it even more wonderful too. If I can offer a recommendation for your next visit, Beppu Onsen Hoyoland is a mud hot spring, and entry is only ¥1,100. Because of the muddy water, it has an outdoor mixed-gender onsen, which is quite unusual for Japan. From Beppu Station, take the Kamenoi Bus bound for Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, and get off at Konya Jigoku Mae. The ride takes about 25 minutes. If anyone is interested, you can also get to Beppu from Osaka on the Sunflower Ferry. Beppu is also a good gateway to Shikoku by ferry. Another fantastic video, Christian! Please keep them coming mate.
You are definable versed in Beppu! It was my first time visiting the city and it really good seeing the steam coming out of the buildings everywhere. Everyone seems to be utilising the natural hot springs which is awesome! Hoyoland is great recommendation as well, thanks for the share. Any word on how they are with tattoo’s? So on that second day, I actually got a private tour of the Sunflower ferry also. It’s so nice, I checked out all the different rooms and the massive bath on board is so rad! Definitely a transportation recommendation on getting to Beppu! Appreciate the insight as always legend, keep em’ coming 🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵
@@hangswithchristian Hi Christian, Hoyoland is tattoo-friendly. My wife has small tattoos on her shoulder and foot, and she made inquiries before we went. It was not a problem, and we’ve been there twice now during our visits to Beppu. The hot mud onsen is really amazing, and I highly recommend it if you visit Beppu on your next trip. We’ve done well over a hundred onsens in Japan, and I’ve definitely noticed a shift toward the acceptance of tattoos. I understand the historical reasons behind the bans, particularly due to gangs, yakuza, etc., but I think many places still have the ban in place for enforcement if needed. However, they’re generally more tolerant of tattoos, particularly if the person is a Westerner. I’ve also lost count of how many times I’ve been in an onsen where there were people with tattoos, and no one seemed to mind. I’m really envious of your sunflower tour- Will we be seeing that in an upcoming video. As always, mate, fantastic video! Looking forward to the next one.
Mate! Thanks so much for the information, Im sure people will find that super helpful. I looked into them and saw Hoyoland is one of the more popular ones for accepting tattoo’s. Apparently in Beppu, there are over 100 onsens that accept them which is great! I’m sure you have been to most of them by them I’m betting haha Appreciate it as always legend 🙋🏽♂️
Was just in Beppu and Kyushu myself. Bit of an uncharted territory for us Aussies but there's so many great places to see. Loving the travel videos outside of Fukuoka, looking forward to many more in future mate
Oh yeah - How’d you enjoy Beppu? Yeah Kyushu as a whole is super underrated right. Pretty much my reasoning for starting the channel is to focus on showing people this region! Another coming next week for Kitakyushu - really fun 🤙🏽
Oh yeah? Was this your first time in onsen? How’d you like it? I’ve never done a public onsen because if tattoo but even I reckon I’d feel a little out of place 🤣
Your ryokan bed looked like a big musubi! I made noodles with my sixth graders when we went to a restaurant for a class field trip. Interesting and lots of fun. Another home run legend! Good travel video.
Haha never saw it that way but now, I can’t not see it that way 🤣 Oh really? I bet they would have loved that. That was my first cooking experience in Japan and it felt like cooking a home meal with friends. Super fun chatting and sharing stories about Japan as we did it. Definitely underrated experience! Appreciate you tuning in and always kind words legend 🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵
Yep - definitely its own city. Way more chill and great place to live with easy access to the rest of Japan. Hope you have an awesome time in Osaka buddy!
Definitely now on our list of places to see when we come over in December. Could you do a video of the Christmas Markets. Thought they only had those in Europe. Surprised they have them in Japan also.
I’m so glad you are adding it in! It’s absolutely a staple location to visit if you plan of traveling Kyushu. Warm people and even warmer hot springs ♨️ And YES! Christmas in Japan is something that is usually for younger couples but Japan puts on a show every year across the country with their Christmas illuminations. Particularly in Fukuoka, they have an awesome range of Christmas markets which are STUNNING. Keep an eye 👁️ out 🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵
This was a wonderful experience! If you unlock more locations or events in Kyushu, it could be compiled into the ultimate guide for Kyushu. We have plenty of content about central Japan, but not as much about the southern region. Sincerely, a random legend.
Haha love that sign off so much 🤣 Glad you enjoyed it mate! But absolutely, that’s my goal is to promote Kyushu as the main focus. No one is really doing it much here hey. Hopefully it encourages people to look into it a bit more hey because its pretty awesome 🙌🏽
Thanks man! Really appreciate the feedback 🤙🏽 Haha I love that SFX. I have a big collection of SFX so can’t remember where I pull most from. I could be wrong, but I think it was from Sailor Moon?? 🌙
Thanks mate! As I wrote earlier, I dig your content, your laidback and genuine personality! And the Aussie English is the cherry on top 😂 keep it up mate
Haha when I was starting chatting with my mates, I literally said, ‘I wonder how my aussie accent and slang will be taken onboard’ 🤣 So its great to hear you are enjoying my wordage! 🙋🏽♂️
Free foot bath! 😬 Oh, and that dinner. Definitely wouldn't get that in Stockport! Absolutely amazing city, too, although when I do come to Tokyo, I see it's over 13 hours to get there. Maybe another time 😃
Awesome right and that was only the beginning of the dinner haha 4 more courses! Yeah its a big of a trek though if you are in Osaka, you can take the Sunflower Ferry to Beppu. Kind of like a smaller cruise ship but can store cars also. Soo nice - I was fortunate enough to get a private tour of it before customers boarded while I was there and it was stunning inside! Just a different way to get south of Japan 🚢
@@hangswithchristian That's fantastic. They definitely know how to create the food of the Gods! I've also got an idea for a Japanese food video over here, so I'll work on that very soon, especially since I've just bought everything and it'll go off if I don't 😬 Just looked up the Sunflower Ferry. Looks fantastic, and something for a later visit 😃
Hi, Chris ! Just watched this one , can you tell us where this Ryokan is and the name ? It looks so good, and we’re planning to go to Beppu ..thanks a bunch !
Hey mate! Thanks so much for tuning in buddy, glad you enjoyed it. Yeah absolutely, it’s called Matsubaya in Beppu. Really great place to stay if you are headed to Beppu especially if you want to experience a few different private onsens! When you planning on visiting buddy?🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵

Haha oh really? Mate - that’s so awesome to hear. Just me being me, so its awesome to hear that people like seeing that! Appreciated as always legend 🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵
♨️ Have you or do you want to visit onsens in Japan? Also, if you have, where was it??
Yes, been to Hakone, Niigata and Kyoto.
I live in Beppu, so I have been going really frequently 😊
def on my list of things I have to do!😊
The Dinner in the Ryokan looked epic 👌
Mate - I thought the sashimi was the whole meal and I was stoked. But it ended up being about 5 - 6 courses. Sooo delicious!
@@hangswithchristian Now i wanna go get sashimi haha
Haha currently on route! Late dinner tonight and after that last comment - yep, it solved dinner decision for me 🙋🏽♂️
