    As always with Christian, hanging out turned into a cinematic experience. You've done well; I'm more interested than ever to explore Kyushu in depth. As someone who used to live in the countryside, I don't dislike the quiet lifestyle. I struggle with the pace of Toronto, I would be more than happy to live in a city close to the inaka

      Oh truely? Then I’m betting you would absolutely like Ukiha! I didn’t even show off the main street area, showed only a little bit from the car but it was all closed for the day when I was there. Such a peaceful and well kept country town. It’s funny, it’s in the middle of no where but later found out, lately, it’s becoming really popular for people to visit for other countries. The river’s through the town also just gave it such beauty! I’d love to see it during Sakura season. Definitely add to your list legend 🙋🏽‍♂️🇯🇵

      @@hangswithchristian We're starting an airbnb and a guided motorcycle touring business. So much planning has had to go in to this, and it's a big risk which is why we're doing airbnb on top of the moto tours. Originally it was just going to be moto tours, but you know, all the eggs and one basket or w/e. We should be on the plane in December. We are listing our house for sale in Canada, so once it sells we will basically have nothing keeping us here.
      We've waited so long for this, and even put off starting a family until we get to Japan. Fingers are crossed, and I won't lie, I wake up at night and ask myself if this is even a good idea or not... but I think sometimes if you want to do great things, you have to take a risk.

      Your new venture sounds incredibly exciting and adventurous! I totally understand the planning and risk involved, especially with starting two businesses at once. It's clear that you both are putting so much thought into making it work, and it's inspiring to see you taking such a bold step. The combination of Airbnb and guided motorcycle tours sounds like a fantastic idea, offering a unique experience for travelers.
      I admire your courage to follow your dreams and make this big move to Japan. It's natural to have those moments of doubt, but often, the greatest things in life come from taking risks. Wishing you all the best with the house sale and your journey ahead. Fingers crossed for a smooth transition-I'm rooting for you! As much as I enjoy the big Japanese cities, the countryside is where it’s at. Just look at how beautiful Ukiha Imari Shrine is, and you had it all to yourselves. Awesome video and the countryside is even more breathtaking than in the Community post, and when it comes to drones, I presume they're freely useable in Japan, whereas in the UK, their use is so restricted, as they're always worried your drone will come down and crash into someone, who'll then sue.
    For some reason, if I leave a long comment, UA-cam hides it, so I'll make this short & might have to split my comments up 😲

    • @hangswithchristian
      @hangswithchristian  4 місяці тому +1

      Yeah, it’s always really nice to escape the city sometime and go into the countryside. Plus, as you mentioned, drone use out there for one is free to use anywhere and two showcases an even more stunning scenery everytime!

      @@hangswithchristianHi, it's not you, it's a YT problem. Something else they're aware of, but never fix.
      Another example of UK nonsense, and while hearing about the potential Megaquake in Japan (hopefully that won't come for at least a century!), I remember reading about the 2011 tsunami completely destroying a road, yet thanks to excellent Japanese efficiency, the road was fixed in 6 days!
      Meanwhile, if you Google - Greek Street roundabout Stockport-, you'll see a roundabout that's actually classed as a bridge (I learn something new after 26 years of living in the area). It needs to be demolished and rebuilt. The roundabout is used by thousands of vehicles each day, yet to replace it, it'll close from March 2025, and for an entire YEAR! At least! That's beyond crazy. I need to get out of here 😁

    • @hangswithchristian
      @hangswithchristian  4 місяці тому +1

      Oh yeah, are you talking about that sinkhole that they got fixed in 24 hours. I actually think that was here in Fukuoka - I remember hearing about that story! Haha
      The trades here are so efficient but everywhere else seems to have a reputation of being quite slow.
      Haha that’s wild shutting that thing down for a year but I’m actually not surprised because in my hometown in Australia they have taken over one year and a half to build a walk bridge over a creek that is about 2 m wide haha

    • @DVDfeverGames
      @DVDfeverGames 4 місяці тому +1

      @@hangswithchristian Yep, it was a big sinkhole and they fixed it double-quick.
      Your bridge also sounds like another bridge near me that's close to that roundabout. Just a literal stone's throw away is the Thomson Street bridge for which I made two brief videos. One where they finally opened it after well over three years of delays, and revealing a metal monstrosity that's been dubbed the Mad Max bridge; and a more recent one where a school has painted flowers and wildlife on it.
      It doesn't get much footfall, anyway, and walking round it is a mild inconvenience of a few mins, although you do now get to avoid the main road.

    • @hangswithchristian
      @hangswithchristian  4 місяці тому +1

      Yep, thats the sinkhole. The trades work self efficient here. It’s so great to see!

    Hello Hangs, I'm planning to go to Japan for 3 months starting on November. I have been in Japan twice but only for two weeks each time. This time I'm learning the language and I want to go over there to practice. I'm already taking Japanese clases. I work online, so I will just continue working over there but I don't have any friends, or anybody living in Japan. Do you have any recommendations on how to rent a temporary apartment in Japan? I was thinking of maybe moving around. Like 1 month in place and so on. Thank you!!

    • @hangswithchristian
      @hangswithchristian  4 місяці тому +1

      Hey mate - thanks so much for watching and I actually did a 3 month stint here myself from November a couple years ago which is what led me to plan my move here after!
      As for renting of apartments, you won’t be able to contract rent a place as you normally would in your own country but I’ll give you what I did.
      If you rent apartments on Airbnb, they are pretty expensive here but if you rent by the month, alot will show you a good discount. I got an apartment here in Fukuoka city for about $700USD for December with one.
      Hotels can be cheaper booking last minute for discounts often but be careful as you are going during a busy period.
      If you are looking at Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto, there are company called Sakura House online where you can rent by the month. I used them years back and it was decent but they book out fast and just depends whats available!
      I hope that helps mate and applaud you for learning the language ahead of time, they’ll respect you for that 👍🏽
      I hope that helps legend and best of luck on your journey!

    People need to get out of the cities in Japan to see what the countryside is really like. The cities are futuristic, but very generic.
