People talk a lot of crap for Johnny Ace but he did right for Kash for those Japan deals. Even Jim Cornette thanked him for the mental health he was suffer in OVW.
That was a pretty funny story. I wasn't watching WWE around that time, and I missed all of Kash's run in WWE. I loved him in ECW though. He was a guy I always enjoyed watching. He was super underrated as a performer. He would have been a megastar if he had come around about ten years later than he did. Back then, they just didn't give any guys his size the opportunities that they deserved, no matter how good they were. He would be huge if he was in his prime today.
Bonjour René. J'ai commencé regarder votre podcast hier soir. J'ai regardé vingt et un des vidéos LOL. C'est genial! I hope my french isn't too rusty lol. It's been a while since I've used it. Keep up the great work!
Honestly if you aren't a big name you should be smart enough not to give them any reason to fire you because they will come up with one if they need to.
Honestly, even if you ARE a bigger name (RVD for instance), why the hell would you jeopardize a high paying wrestling gig, by smoking weed when you KNOW that it's against company policy. I was super excited for RVD when he became WWE Champion, I never thought it would finally happen. He might not have had a LONG reing, only till Summerslam or whatever, but I was still excited. Then he fucked all that up, by speeding WHILE also smoking weed, with Sabu. Got pulled over, got in trouble for it like an idiot, got punished by WWE for it, making them look bad as WWE Champ, THE "Face of the Company" (they even had him beat John Cena to win it). And the worst part was, he acted like it was no big deal afterwards. Acted like he shouldn't have gotten in trouble or gotten punished. It's like, Rob, get REAL dude. Grow up. I still love RVD, but he can be a real idiot sometimes. I was VERY disappointed in him for that, to FINALLY be pushed by WWE like a top guy, when they should have been doing so years beforehand. And he fucks it up for himself, and shows zero remorse for doing so, like "Oh well". Stupid.
They had to put the belt on someone who could possibly be a draw. I’m not the biggest Matt Hardy fan, but he had name value at the time. Kash was pretty much an underneath guy at that point in his career.
In the WWE Kash was a nobody. No offense to tha man, but with the way WWE presented him & the division he was the champion of…none of them mattered. Says nothing about their talent or ability…WWE has just never presented anyone in that division as if they mattered. Hell they gave the cruiserweights a whole damn show and still didn’t make them feel like they mattered. I will say though I’ve always enjoyed the cruiserweights work. Other than tag wrestling, generally the cruiser weight guys put on my favorite matches.
@@minimalchill I was a fan of the cruiserweight division. It gave the smaller wrestlers a purpose. The WCW cruiserweight division was the best, especially at the beginning.
It does suck but very few had that Rey Mysterio like ability to break away from just a cruiserweight. Because most of the crusier weights could work no doubt and many of them could talk. I think don't think it was the size so much as their characters started to blend together at a certain point. Because WWE you a look that sets you apart from the pack along with the promo and in-ring work.
Around 2006 they started putting "Hooliganz" on their attire as an attempt for management to let them use that as their tag team name but nothing never came about it, they were simply known as London and Kendrick
The funny thing is, back at that time, weed wasn't yet legal here in Quebec, but they obviously not put you behind bars for smoking a blunt. If you had very large quantities, yes they did, but for only a joint they didn't do shit. So I guess it was just typical Johnny Ace and just gaslighting haha. Johhny clearly didn't know shit he was talking about when bullshitting Kid Kash on the phone 😂
wwe wants to portrait itself as a corporate entity, but then you hear about all of the "low rent" stuff thats being done by the people in power over there, and even the agents. The WWE really can do business like a carny operation sometimes.. Even somewhat recently, i forgot who it was, one of the Divas i think? Her contract ran out and they didn't re-sign her, something like that. And they sent her stuff back in trash bags.. real classy.
Sabu and Sandman, Tommy Dreamer would have been better ECW champs over Matt Hardy, not sure if I agree with Cash's chosen examples. Rob was chosen for to be champ before what happened happened, Taz was on commentary and his in ring career was over at that point, but I understand the point he's trying to make
hardcore because wrestlers where dying from hits to the head, would you want to see hardcore matches with no weapons, only shots to the back and stuff no one likes that they had to get rid of chair shoots, when you look at those wrestlers that have died there brains are destroyed, it used to not be like that in wrestling, then they thought it was fine for steel chair shots
Love Kid Kash but his timelines are so messed up. Tazz was retired for 4 years by 2006 and Jamie Noble was still going and in 2009 was destroyed by Sheamus in his first angle and that's how they wrote Noble off TV to become an agent.
No hate to Kash but his whole Matt shouldn't of been ecw champion, instead put it on these folks....I mean come on. Taz was no where near active wrestling. Even credible wasn't exactly in the best place. I agree the ecw championship had a bad legacy in wwe but bad examples of people who should of had it
Kid Kash has always been mad underated
People talk a lot of crap for Johnny Ace but he did right for Kash for those Japan deals. Even Jim Cornette thanked him for the mental health he was suffer in OVW.
Very interesting story, love the content Renee. Kid Kash was super underrated.

Blink and you missed it. Kash was pretty good but he wasn’t there for long.
You didn't miss much but kid cash being a Megastar is delusional thinking. An athletic tiny hillbilly does not a Megastar make.
I've been fan of Kash since I saw in him ECW in '99. Respect to you all for getting in the ring and entertaining us ✌🏻❤️
Brooklyn Stooge
"John Laurinaitis tells me you need to empower them" - Jim Cornette
lmfaooo
Does everybody do a good job of a John Laurinitus impression?
The cruiserweight division was sweet back then. The CW division needs angles to be great , not just matches. People have forgot that today
Kash a cool dude man. Loved his work, Was a great wrestler!
Turn me on! Turn me on brother, COME ON!! Lol Brooklyn Narc and his Johnny Ace impression 🤣, funny azz story lol, love these old shoots 😆
Johnny ace is a interesting character from all these stories
I agree with these guys about body size, it makes a difference. Sami Zayn being featured on WWE is ridiculous. He should be a cruiserweight
This clears up some things for me, but I have to admit I loved Kash’s TNA run it’s surprising to hear how much he hated it.
Kid cash was my favorite for a long time.
Can u imagine the Brooklyn brawler screwing u lmao
Lol the wrestling world is wacky 🤣🤣
He screwed Pat Patterson a lot.... allegedly 😉😂
Keep up with the good content Rene 👍
Is Johnny Laurinitis the most hated man in WWE not named Dunn or Vince? YES.
He rubs me the wrong way
He's A creep and sex pest.
JL was good to send him numbers to Japan & was least str8 up
Brawler was that definition of that Bernie Mac hookup joke

"You're shitting on Vince McMahon" hits different in 2024...
that was a great "Big" Johnny Ace impression ("People Power") by Kid Kash... Oooh, the "Brooklyn Brawler" was a stooge/rat (against Kid Kash).
wow interesting outlook
Also I think they were gonna let him go regardless of the weed thing, it was just an opportunity to scare the rest of the boys.
Kid Kash is in better shape than 90% of the current Roster. Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, take notes!
He's 52 he's on testosterone
@@danted3408 So Vince would love him .
@@danted3408 who isnt in wwe ? Vince looks like a reptile
Love this channel !
I've heard Sid (vicious) say if you got sent to ECW you were getting your notice
I'll never call that man Brooklyn Brawler again ...... if he has anything to do with Brooklyn... he Tekashi 69ine now
Dudes Kid Kash is entertaining

@Retrorevelations well he a true pothead of course he was gonna react like that. Plus he not the type to kiss anyone ass
I think the issue with kid kash was his name, it’s such a jobber name
I think it was more that he was a mid to lower mid-carder but in his head he was upper card.
it was his height and the lack of interest in cruiserweight. CM Punk doesn't sound like a star name.
The rock is a silly name too
Way better than no way jose lol
Fuckkk the pitbulls were such a cool tag team too! I wish they won the belts

"You are shitting on Vince McMahon"
This has a whole different meaning now.
Why are you sitting in the dark nosferatu? 😂🤣😭
Did you read that book yet🧐
I was hoping for Gary Wolfe to be brought in since Kash & Noble went by the Pitbulls name
It sounds like he prolly got fired cause of RVD being caught.
Pitbull #1 (Gary Wolfe) would be great/ideal, in the WWF/WWE, as the Pitbulls' tag-team manager.
Johnny Ace did a good thing there. Even a stopped watch gets the time right two times for day tho.
Batista smoking weed?? Hell yeah and as world heavyweight champion
Paul London & Brian Kendrick tag team name was “The Hooligans” ? I don’t remember that lol
Me neither bro
Around 2006 they started putting "Hooliganz" on their attire as an attempt for management to let them use that as their tag team name but nothing never came about it, they were simply known as London and Kendrick

Couldn't have been MNM because they were a heel team. It definitely was the Hooliganz who were the tag team champions.
voice wise he kind of sounds like Demolition Ax
Batista smoking weed. I call bullshit
WWE dropped ball Probably on purpose, the cruiserweight, European, titles hardcore title, light heavy weight title
hardcore because wrestlers where dying from hits to the head, would you want to see hardcore matches with no weapons, only shots to the back and stuff no one likes that they had to get rid of chair shoots, when you look at those wrestlers that have died there brains are destroyed, it used to not be like that in wrestling, then they thought it was fine for steel chair shots
