      Sorry for the late response I am happy to hear my videos helped you with your birds. Breeding in an Aviary is the best and the birds will be better parents once it's time to breed

    HI. I use mulch too. Its fantastic. I make a really deep layer of mulch from coconut fibre and rice husks. This material is super cheap. It does not go mouldy, it is not dusty, and it's good for the birds to use as nesting material and play about in. It also keeps the quails toes clean. Any poop on it gets dried up and mixed into the mulch. There are worms and insects in it that eat the birds poop and also provide food for the quails. It bio degrades so I just top it up a few times a year when the level is getting low. Every day I rake it over to keep it fresh and mixed up. I will never go back to using any other floor covering or even bare concrete. I got the idea because I use this mulch with my pet snakes and it keeps them really clean too.

      Sorry for the late response. Just like you said I will never go back to just plain concrete flooring for my Aviarys. The mulch is the best

    I sure miss my Gouldian finches ❤️. Those are some very nice aviaries. Did you build them yourself? I loved how you showed them flying out of the little transporting cages.☺️
    The plants you have inside the aviaries, are they all natural plants (if so, what kind?) or are they synthetic/plastic?
    Also, why were the birds kept indoors for 6 months? Sorry, a lot of questions. I don’t know what kind of climate you live in.

      The plants are fake and the birds were indoors for 4 and a 1/2 months not 6 months. I built the Aviarys that you see And I keep them indoors for the Winter time. The way these Aviarys are built they will not survive outside for the Winter time.

    Very nice-looking aviaries. I live in Los Angeles, and was starting to consider getting a pair of Goulds (had a pair about 25 yrs. ago). That led me to your videos. Do you sell your birds?

    Hey there, so I had a question. For the egg food, I use boiled eggs, white mollen egg food, poha and oats. I don’t really use vegetables since the person I got them from told me not to as it contains a lot of formalin in our country. But we can soak it to remove most of them and a lot of people use vegetables but it doesn’t seem to be a problem so I have decided to try some. I was just wondering if you have any idea about what vegetables are there in the dried greens that you use. Please let me know thank you. It will be of great help.

      Hi thanks for messaging me. I like to use Broccoli. I cut off the bushy part and I chop it into little pieces and I mix it with the egg food.

      Mine also love finely chopped up carrots. I peel the skin off so they don't eat the skin where pesticides can be there. So carrots, broccoli, sweet corn (they go made for steamed sweet corn), chopped fresh herbs like basil and coriander, celery leaves. I also mix in steamed pumpkin, sweet potato, sprouted seeds from their seed mix. You can try them with anything. At first mine were fussy, but now they go crazy for the egg food and vegetables. The only things they don't like are any fruit. Remember avocado, onions and mushroom are toxic to birds! Also if weather is hot make sure you don't leave the egg food in the cage too long as bacteria will grow on it. I make a lot of egg food and freeze it into small portions so I don't have to keep making it. Also once its thawed out it will last 4 or so days in the refrigerator.

    How much cold can these bird bear in ab open Avery like You're

    • @126BIGBO
      @126BIGBO  2 роки тому +1

      With my experience no less then 52 degrees. If my Aviary was built with walls on the back and on the side, I'm pretty sure they can deal with the cold a little better if I had it built that way
