Thank you for doing an actual instructional video that doesn't focus on cute outfits or funny dad jokes, unlike the *official video from Gemini*. You should be the top result in this search.
Brilliantly explained, thank you for this video had my taurus 3 ring saw for years, without even realising that there was even something such as a separating Blade. Thanks for sharing.
Oh cool! Im glad you found out something new! There is just such a wealth of information, tools, techniques, etc when it comes to stained glass. And alot of people who unfortunately like to gatekeep info too. Im happy to share whatever i can!
Oh how do I love you let me count the ways!!!! Haven’t used my saw for a year afraid to change blade always look sooo complicated your my all time go to woman! Thank you for sharing your mad skills and PLEASE don’t stop!
I appreciate you 🖤🙏🏻 Thank you. So happy to be actually helpful!! Sometimes the things that feel most complicated or intimidating are the easiest to get done. Nothing you cant handle. 🖤💪
I so appreciate your talent! Was wondering if by chance you have the Taurus3 accessory kit? I got it about year ago with no directions and can’t seem to find any info on how to use it. It contains a straight edge, a degree cut off triangle, bevel edge, circle maker, and lamp wedge. Love to see you give us a video on this.
Thank you SO much for this!! I’ve watched every video I could find to try and make an easier way to change the belt/blade. I’m a noob to stained glass and your videos have helped me so much to get started. Keep these videos coming. I truly love them. 🤩🌱💚
Im so sorry i didnt see your comment back when you left it, im so glad it was helpful when you found it!! ♡♡ I hope your still doing/loving stained glass!
@@MakenzieHallie a LOT has happened since I’ve started stained glass! I wanted to make black and pink dark pieces but was angry at the lack of pinks in the stained glass community. I taught my self how to fuse and now I’m creating pink sparkly glass and also fusing the striker pinks and violet options that are gold bearing colors from Bullseye to be available to use for the non fusing stained glass and mosaic communities. The strikers are purchased clear and many glass artists don’t know that the colors need to be activated to use these bold colors. Thank you again for being my stepping stones into stained glass. 🥰
Bit the bullet, and finnaly bought one of these saws.... Got Really lucky to find a used one for 200$. It's been heavily used and is missing a few accessories, but I just cut parts for 2 cancer ribbons and 3 gnomes without any breaks, and will have a lot less grinding time... THANKS!!! For the vidios on this cutter
Love your videos and thanks for doing this one! I am getting ready to do an inside cut on two pieces. Question I have is, is there any reason to take out the separating blade when done and go back to the non-separating blade? Is there any reason why I couldn’t just leave this one in permanently?
Oh for sure, now I leave my separating blade in on one ring saw and a regular on the other so I don't have to change it for the sake of longevity on one or the other. Lol. So deff no issue to leave it. Thank you for your support, so glad you enjoy my videos! 🖤🙏🏻✨️
Fantastic information!! Do you have a video that demonstrates how to best oil the motor. I have an older model that was gifted to me and so I don't have any instructions. The saw band will jump which is why I am replacing it. I feel like the motor could use some lubrication.. Thanks!!
As long as your not using it in the handheld mode, you can keep the foot off! So sorry for missing your comment back when you left it. Sometimes some just slip through the youtube cracks! 🖤😂
They both are fantastic machines. You truly can't go wrong with either. Personally I ALWAYS pull out the Zephyr, I just find it easier and quicker for some reason. I would say look at both, look at the costs and take into consideration what they come with/blade cost and make the call that way. I would and do endorse both fully.
such a good video! I know you've made one on grinding/bits but do you have any tips on standard/fine/coarse bits? I've only used the standard ones and wondered when the fine or coarse would be necessary?
So coarse is for your harder cold glass sheets, or frankly for grinding faster! It's all preference really. Fine or standard is more for iridescent, luminescent or coated glasses that will chip with a coarser grit!
Well, I would. So I keep the separating blade on the Taurus and the standard blade on the gryphon, and only use each when I need too. But there is no issue using the separating as normal, from what I understand.
Fantastic! Thanks so much for making this video, hell all videos, they are all very good. I have a question, is a table grinder still a must if you have a ring saw? Thanks again for your expertise!
Your welcome!! By table grinder, do you mean just a standard glass grinder? If so, yes absolutely! The Taurus ring saw is just for those random cuts you can't otherwise make! Neither grinder replaces or can do what the other can! 🖤 thank you for watching!
Hi! I'm new to stained glass and your channel, love your videos! You're a joy to watch (in the least creepy sounding was possible ha) and those nails 😍. I've only done two pieces so far but when I solder, I get like little black, almost crumbs of solder in the silver. It never tends to lie nice and smooth either. Any ideas what the issue might be? Thanks!
The foot does not technically need to be used at all during general grinding times, but its there for a reason. It adds that extra bit of stability. Yes you absolutely need that during hand held, but I keep my foot on all the time, it doesn't hurt, only helps!
I have a taurus ring saw as well, I broke the new blade on it probably with only 4-6 hours use? just guessing, it may have been a little more time, but when it let go it just stopped, no glass or any dangerous fragments etc. I know you were concerned about it, but the sound of it could scare you, thats about it. I always wear my glasses no matter what. But keep up the good work with the videos.

So so awesome! Definitely so helpful for those trying to get an idea of what the art is! Same with the main store I go to here, im thinking about doing some glass blowing/fusing/clay work this summer with her!!! So fun!
Hey I have not done any stained glass, yet.. I’m collecting the tools now. But why doesn’t anyone do larger 3d style projects? I made a design but now I’m concerned it won’t be possible
Well it depends on what it is! How heavy is it? Where are the stress points, do you have reinforcing strips and if so where. There is only so much weight copper foil technique can hold and for so long before it just falls apart in a year!
@@MakenzieHallie thank you for the feed back.
