There is one sustained note at the very end of Ave Maria by Dimash, with only a change in volume. I believe the technique is a difficult one called missa di voce. It is a soul-piercing sound.
Frank my Dear!…..The author Igor Krutoy tell that he wrote an “opera” to Dimash for Olimpic Russian Games, and is difficult piece for to sing (for two opera singers, baritone and soprano) and is in Italian......Dimash is trained opera singer and He has classical vocal Technique and do it wonderfully!..Last perfect note is a high E6 for 7 seconds....for that reason I like Dimash! Upon university graduation, he was offered a leading position in the permanent company of his country's' new, world class opera house. He declined in order to pursue his Doctorate in music which he has just completed. A PhD in Musicology with honors, majoring in composition. Until now, all his performances have been carefully scheduled around his studies. (exception: The Singer competition. He was enrolled in the Master's program, and he kept winning the eliminations !! He thought he'd make it halfway thru the initial rounds and ran out of stagewear and music long before the final televised 13 weeks)

Dimash has not completed his Doctorate yet. He did receive his master's degree in composition June 2020, graduating with a perfect score. He was offered the position with the Astana Opera in 2016, after receiving his degree in classical music in 2014. He declined the offer. He wanted to pursue a career in contemporary music. At the time he received the offer to join the Astana Opera he was studying for his degree in contemporary music. When he participated in Singer he was working on his degree in contemporary music, for which he received that degree in 2018. He did not enroll in the masters program until after Singer. He did not run out of stagewear, nor songs during Singer.

He doesn't mentor Dimash, it's a mutually beneficial working partnership that's all, they have a very good working relationship and Igor has introduced him to the Russian audience and Igor has in turn through Dimash been introduced to the world. So Igor has more to gain from it. ❤
Dimash has never referred to Igor Krutoy a mentor. Dimash has referred to their relationship as a close friendly, and warm "father like" relationship... with a mutual love of music and a strong mutual understanding of the crossover genre.

Dimash & Kanat were at an Event in Italy for Jeweller "Jacob & Co", Igor was also there and that is where they met for the first time. Igor Krutoy invited Dimash to perform as a New Wave guest performer. If you had watched Dimash (Russian) interviews you would not have made that incorrect statement. Dimash and Igor spoke of their first meeting in Italy, where Igor invited Dimash to perform at New Wave.

Good reaction, the last note is a E6, a note where he feels quite comfortable and can sustain with vibrato. He actually sings that note in other songs, like Sinful Passion or The Love of tired swans. In his head voice he also can hit briefly an F6, which is the highest note in the Queen of the Night aria, so yes, he can sing the soprano repertoire. In we go to his whistle notes, he reached a D8 (Unforgettable Day, Gakku version)

The song Olympico (which became known as Ogni Pietra) was composed by director Igor Krutoy, with Italian lyrics by Russian poet Lilia Vinogradova and arrangements by Erlan Bekchurin. It was written specifically for Dimash for the 2019 European Olympic Games. With this song Dimash won, on December 5, 2019, the Victoria Award (Russian equivalent of the Grammy) for the best singer of the year, in the classical genre ("Best Vocalist in Classical "Music").

Dimash is an opera singer too and so he sings this song in Italian (the language of music), with an opera voice (Bariton - Sopran). No one else then Dimash can sing this song alone.
In December 2019, the song “Olimpico” performed by Dimash Kudaibergen became the “Song of the Year 2019” in Russia. The authors of the composition shared the triumph with the artist.

I love to hear Dimash, but as far as resonance, I prefer your voice and resonance and the fabulous Avi Kaplan any day.
Granted, Dimash has a great sound and now over 7 octaves of range and Avi only has 5, BUT Avi also has his
polyphonic voice with that whistle voice he can access with that.
Oh, and the way Dimash transitions sometimes an octave or more seamlessly is pretty impressive.
Dimash has totally dedicated his life to his voice and instruments. He has sacrificed a love life, he has become an athlete (which he has to be to perform Ogni Pietra.) When I watch him perform it, I think of the great physical stamina it takes to
perform it.

Great reaction on this amazing song. Igor Krutoy is kind of old school, so he used a lyricist just the way most operas were created. Her name is Lilia Vinogradova. I think the high note was and E flat 6, which is the typical top soprano note in the more ambitious operas.
He has done E 6 on a number of songs, but this song was a real endurance test - long and high.
You should try his recent Stranger for some surprises.
