The front suspension isn't a problem for smaller builds. The rear swing axle suspension will work without the trailing arm.
I tried reducing the width of the whole build and the suspension did all sorts of wacky things due to the trailing arm.

The suspension on the both the front and rear of this build can be made for smaller builds.
