I love the concept of this video! Might be fun to do with Fragrantica’s awards too. So I think Victoria Beckham’s Suite 302 is fantastic but will never be Mass appealing. I love it so much that I’m glad others don’t like it as that means they won’t be wearing that beauty😂. Take care!

Look into who sits on the board of directors of the fragrance foundation…the Owner of Mind Games for example, is on the board of Directors of the Fragrance Foundation. Several other examples like this. Not saying there is anything going on here, but it is interesting 🤔
I agree with you. I've tried Mind Games and it was a total disappointment. Extremely overpriced for what it is. It disappeared after five minutes. I have niche fragrances such as Maison Crivelli that have amazing sillage and longevity and are cheaper.
I sampled all 3 Victoria Beckham fragrances and 2 of them were incredible! Had to buy the full size bottle for Portofino 97, Suite 302 is amazing as well, the other one is forgettable in my opinion.

Judging by the winners in the past years and this year, there is an obvious pattern that we can see in different awards shows in different industries: most of the winners are from big brands. The award giving body gets the money from the companies to keep the body alive and running, the company gets the bragging rights.

About Born in Roma Intense, it’s a nice, sweet mall scent (actually better than expected)- definitely not up your alley but I must admit, it was my one guilty pleasure purchase last year- the rest were serious, proper fragrances. Be well, my man! FYI - I just scored my first Scent Club Kit today (#10), so I’m pumped and looking forward to finally receiving one. The specific fragrances suited my particular tastes. The only reason Myself won it is probably because of its sales numbers. As you said it’s a very easy to understand “dumb reach”, and while it’s annoying that the awards aren’t strictly about the raw scent itself, perfume is as much of a business as anything else 🤷♂️

ADG Parfum is already being reformulated. They have a new 2024 Parfum version. I tried the 2023 and I didn’t really care for it. I wore ADG EDT today and that is my favorite for Summer. I don’t think that ADG Parfum should’ve won an award.
Have no information on how the winners of any catagory are selected. My guess would be: sales unit numbers or $$$ sales figures? Fragrance is such a personal preference, no idea how anyone could say one fragrance is bettwr than another. Me personally? Would not have chosen "any" of these winners🤔
The most surprising is Vanilla sex, especially because what you usually praise are the stronger ones. To me, Vanilla sex lacks originality, compared to L’eau Papier which was submitted in the same category.
I finally got a chance to smell Tobacco Honey! It’s amazing! I will recommend for honey/tobacco fragrances. So unique, I love this type of pollen like smell. Good choice. I love love Summer Rain. Bought about 2 and it’s hard to get it sometimes, they do have the best candle fragrances. I also enjoy Diptyque’s candles. Vanilla Sex 👎 meh Burberry won , so why put that one in. I didn’t expect Mind Games to win on packaging. I wanted Elorea to win something because they have a calming set of fragrances that are light but not like skin scent. Someone needs to check them out. I think they are better than Dedcool, Glossier, Rosie’s. All those skin scents combined. Nest florals are very lovely, I was shocked they made the cut because MM gets talked about more.
Vanilla Sex for best fragrance??? Ok. Clearly there was money exchanged under the table. This smells amazing for the first 15 minutes (esp on paper). But If you actually wear it for hours it smells like a 50 year old boys locker room, a dirty clothes hamper and a person who thinks it’s edgy to not bathe. 🤢

I can tell you why I don’t care for the TF Vanilla Sx. For me their names are such a giant turn off that I am already sour as I sniff the fragrances. The names seem like lazy provocations as if they’re making up in marketing for faulty goods to low brow audiences. It’s not about being prudish, but more like comparing drama between Shakespeare and reality TV .
Awards means nothing unless there is transparency regarding the processes they applied at how they arrived at these lists and then the criteria to chose the winners of each category. Arbitrary it seems with no logic or sense.
These awards are a joke. They should call the awards what they are: the highest amount spent at Ulta and Sephora plus who paid the most to market their fragrances. Simply can't take these seriously 😣
