University students get involved in all kinds of ideological activities. We talk a lot about "activists" - and that's almost a synonym for a university student!
So, how do young people know what battles to fight? What things to defend? What things to resist?
For Christian young people, that's already prescribed for them. We defend the Truth. We fight for the Truth. We earnestly contend for the faith once for all delivered to the Saints - that's what the book of Jude says. So we have a script in the Word of God.
"How do I decide what battles to fight?" That's easy: we fight all the battles that attack the Truth, all the battles that attack the Word of God. We fight them all because we are defenders and propagators of the Truth.
Rather than young people using all of their energies to get caught up in some ideology, philosophy, psychological perspective, or sociological theory - which may or may not have a connection to Truth - young people must know the Truth and fight the battles that really matter.
It's not just a question of ideologies; it's a question of Truth. That's spiritual warfare. Christians fight the battle for the Truth, and we fight against everything raised against the knowledge of God. We fight to bring every thought captive to Christ. What a great calling this makes!
Christian young people engaged like that are the most important people in any culture because they are the pillar and ground of the Truth.

In today's world your children should be as prepared, when they go to university/college, as Daniel, Shadrack, Meshack and Abednigo were when taken into captivity in Babylon. They should already be so versed and confident in their faith and trust in God that it won't matter what the godless world tempts them with or threatens them with their default position will be to stand firm in faith and obedience to God, Jesus and the Bible, come what may.
