Great video, Dana, and such a clear explanation of how to cut a stencil and paint it. I loved the cute shirts you made your husband, what a good sport!!
I tried this for the first time yesterday (and the second time today!), and it's so easy and effective!. I did use my die cutter to cut out my shapes/letters, but even without that it would be great! I embellished some baby vest's to go in a baby shower box, and I'm sure they will be well received. Thanks for the easy to follow tutorial!
I can't express how happy I am to see another video!! This was an AMAZING idea! Now I know what to do for Valentine's day! You're very easy to understand and everything makes sense with You! Great job and please more videos! Also is it possible to do a video to make some baby clothes? I want to make some for my daughter. Thank you!
Thanks Jessy! :) I have a few baby videos on here but I"m sure I'll do more in the future too. Check out the diaper cover video, leggings, baby onesies, and how to make a simple skirt :)
I love your videos and I’m planning to be a fashion designer and I’m totally taking up sewing and the first thing I’m seeing is the circle skirt and the tote bags your totes the best!!
Another great tutorial! I love using this method. A note about printing on freezer paper: just make sure you print using a ink jet printer - not a laser printer. A laser printer uses heat and it will melt the slick plastic layer on the freezer paper and it could ruin your printer. Don’t ask me how I know this!! 😕😩
You are just too darn cute! Just joking with a friend about making a special t shirt for her kiddo and bam....this video came up! Can't wait to try this technique! Loving your channel!
Hi Diana I want u to no that u are a very great teacher I have learned so much from ur video thank u so much for sharing ur ideas with everyone here❤️❤️u are the best..
"Who needs to exercise when you can crraaaft" 12:59 hahahaha I don't know why, but that totally made me laugh out loud. So funny, thanks for the great tutorial AND inserting your awesome personality when doing your tutorials.
i love you videos, you are such a inspiration, what would you suggest for my fist homework project in tec-styles. i am in year 7 and just started but i am quite good already my teacher said any tec-styles item, what would you suggest?
Hello i just found your page and its amazing i cant wait to start tunning in and do some of your amazing projects I just bought my 1st sewing machine i was wondering if you would make a pin holder video DIY
If you heat-set the paint (as I did at the end of the project) the paint should stay in-tact nicely. I've made tons of baby oneisies with this painting method and washed them many times and they still look good! Sometimes you can get cracking in the paint after many washes and wears. But that can depend on the fabric (if there are tiny "ribs" in the fabric vs. a really tightly knitted soft t-shirt fabric) and how many layers you've painted on. But I haven't seen that very much.
I love this method! It´s really dificult to find transfer paper in my country so I use this! Made my brother a T-shirt with a gun for his birthday twwo years ago. I had to use a baker´s paper (I think that´s what it´s called, not sure), had to trace the silhouette by hand (and it was a complicated one, let me say this) - that took the longest! Cutting it out, ironing it on and painting it was really easy... What more to say? Maybe just that my brother loved it so it was well worth the effort! :-D
That's an awesome story! Totally worth the effort! I'm sure he loved it. And that's good to know about Baker's paper. What country do you live in? Thanks Hana! - Dana
Love your videos. I've been crafting and building hobby models, model rockets, etc... even sewing. I have lots of craft knives in my tool box. Just an observation. One item that I keep plenty on hand, is blade refills. I noticed how you were struggling to cut through your stencil. When the cutting starts getting hard with a hobby knife, it's time to change that blade. A dull blade is more dangerous than a sharp one. I've not heeded my own advice from time to time, and I've paid the price.
How long will the freezer paper stick to the fabric? I'm planning to do this for a baby shower and attach the stencils ahead of time, may be the night before. But I don't want it to stick permanently
Tip: Should always prewash any new fabric to remove the sizing. The paint/dye then has a better chance of gripping the material and lasting longer. Thank you for sharing. ☺
Love it! I wonder if you can use Cricut or Shilhouette to cut out your freezer paper with? It would definitely save a lot of time. Love you videos! Huge fan!
I think this is a gr8 video. I admire your happiness. Question: Does the paint last somewhat like screenprint paint? Or I could just use screenprint paint if I desire?
Unfortunately no, parchment paper doesn't have the coating that allows it to be ironed on to and peeled off of fabric. Waxed paper doesn't work either. 😕 It has to be freezer paper...
It was pulling up in some spots because I was pulling to quickly, for the sake of the video....but typically I pull slower, to make sure everything pulls away from the freezer paper smoothly.
You can if it's a simple design....when the design is more detailed, the paper has a tendency to rip and tear when you pull it off. So it's kind of a one-time usage project.
I want to create 20 shirts that say BRAILLE POWER in braille. Is there a way to make one stencil that can be used for these I have the braille font on my computer and can enlarge it. Any suggestions on how to make a template.
After reading all the replies, I wonder if using a Cricut cutter using freezer paper would help me create the shirts more efficiently, rather than a more permanent stencil? The replies of your "harem" really help, too. Dana, job well done all around!
I don't understand -- it went through the board? If the paint bleeds through the front of the shirt where it's applied, that shouldn't be an issue as long as you have the board in place so that it doesn't affect the back of the shirt.
This is Perfect for what I was looking for - I'm making upcycled tunics and my theme was Route 66 (you know the road where you're suppose to get your KICKS?) lol By the way... Those TSHIRT FORMS can be made with large cardboard BOX pieces... and I use Packaging TAPE to make them durable from any wet paint. AND... This gal is hysterically funny. Keep up the good work. Where are you from...you look familiar?
You could do that, but the freezer paper cutting is the part that takes the longest....so you may as well just fill it with paint, and then you have a shirt forever!
MADE Everyday I printed off Bible scriptures and iron them all over my pants Sunday it was fun !I have to thank you it was a blast and if you want to memorize your scripture ...just iron it on your shirt or 👖 your scripture for the day !you gave me the idea ! thank you so much!...my iPad doesn’t speak southern...
"All you need is...." For me, it would be a dollar sign. This girl has more fun than anyone I've ever seen on a UA-cam video.
Great video, Dana, and such a clear explanation of how to cut a stencil and paint it. I loved the cute shirts you made your husband, what a good sport!!
haha. Thanks! And yes, he's definitely a good sport about it. :) - Dana
Thank you Dana! That was such a great tutorial! Loved how easy you make it with all the little tips too!
Thanks Tammy! Have fun making/painting shirts! Dana
I tried this for the first time yesterday (and the second time today!), and it's so easy and effective!. I did use my die cutter to cut out my shapes/letters, but even without that it would be great! The most simple tutorial ever, thank you!
I love your videos and I’m planning to be a fashion designer and I’m totally taking up sewing and the first thing I’m seeing is the circle skirt and the tote bags your totes the best!!
This is why I like this channel ; you make even the hard crafts look fun.

Very cool idea and JUST in time for a special baby shower! Thanks for making this fun to watch also!
Perfect! Thanks for watching :) Dana
I've been loving your intros!
You explain so well. Fun and informative! Thanks for sharing.
Tried this last night on an intricate design and it worked like a dream! Thanks for the tutorial!
I'm glad to hear it was helpful, Amber!
Another great tutorial! I love using this method. A note about printing on freezer paper: just make sure you print using a ink jet printer - not a laser printer. oh man. Yes! Thanks for the tip! - Dana
You saved me $500! Thank you for the advice, sorry if you ruined your laser printer! But thank you for sharing!
I was just about to make this same exact statement. You will instantly wreck a laser jet printer with freezer paper.
Love ur work
and
love u
You are just too darn cute! Just joking with a friend about making a special t shirt for her kiddo and bam....this video came up! Can't wait to try this technique! Loving your channel!

Was wondering if you have DVDs available or books I think you're amazing and you make everything look so easyand fun! 😁

Wow!.Thank you so much for this awesome video. How did the shirts hold up to washes?
Loved this tutorial. Am definitely going to try. Thanks a ton.

I love you..... glad found you! I was looking for a necktie tutorial and woww.. great fresh personality you have!
This was fun. Who knew that Gwenne Stafani also made all those concert tshirts
Printing on the freezer paper is genius
This is awesome! You remind me of the blonde hair lady from SnL that usually does skits and movies with Tina Fey...super awesome!
that is awesome! I need to try this on my zip bags I make and my totes and purses I make as well.
Awesome idea, I can totally do this on my Scan N Cut. Thank you for sharing. Val❤️🇨🇦
What size and font did you use?
What kind of printer do you have? I have a laser printer. Just wondering if it will melt to the roller.
i love you videos, you are such a inspiration, what would you suggest for my fist homework project in tec-styles. i am in year 7 and just started but i am quite good already my teacher said any tec-styles item, what would you suggest?
U teach nicely...🙂🙂👏👏

OMG😁😁👍🏽🥰 I love it!! Great job😁🙏😁👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Great tutorial! Thank you
As ever ~ you are such fun!
Haha. Thanks! :) Dana
How does these look after washing?? How many times do they wash & stay nice?
If you heat-set the paint (as I did at the end of the project) the paint should stay in-tact nicely. hi..I loved the tutorial....have a small question.... is freezer paper the same as parchment paper....
No, Freezer Paper is different than Parchment paper, and different from Wax Paper.
I love this method! It´s really dificult to find transfer paper in my country so I use this! Made my brother a T-shirt with a gun for his birthday twwo years ago. Czech republic :-D
Very very very helpful thank you

Great video

Great video! I needed you!
Can you use a silouhette cutter to make the freezer paper stencil?
Yes. Totally!
How long will the freezer paper stick to the fabric? I'm planning to do this for a baby shower and attach the stencils ahead of time, may be the night before. But I don't want it to stick permanently
I have tested it...but I would think for a while. Just try it out on a scrap of fabric and see if it will work with your time frame.
Tip: Should always prewash any new fabric
to remove the sizing. The paint/dye then has
a better chance of gripping the material and
lasting longer.
Thank you for sharing. ☺
Yes. It is good to prewash your fabric first.
Love it! I wonder if you can use Cricut or Shilhouette to cut out your freezer paper with? It would definitely save a lot of time. Love you videos! Huge fan!
Yep! You totally can! Give it a try. And thanks for watching! - Dana
Yes
Thank you so much for this
It’s gonna help so much with making my own cosplays
Thank you,what a great idea .
How much did your machine cost it does not say on the website please tell me I am trying t buy one but do not know the cost of it
Don't forget, before washing the shirt, turn it inside out..that way it will last a lot longer!! ;)
True, great tip!
and thank you for this video! Hope you're having a blessed day!
I now can make the shirt I always wanted but didn't want to pay to have it custom printed :)
YES! Exactly :)
I think this is a gr8 video. I admire your happiness.
Question: Does the paint last somewhat like screenprint paint? Or I could just use screenprint paint if I desire?
Love it !!!!!
Now I know how to make a BTS t-shirt by my own !! 💜
Hi Dana I have two questions 1st could one use wax paper instead of freezer paper and 2nd could this method also work on grosgrain ribbon? Thanks
Hi April. Wax paper will not work the same. Sorry! And I've never tried it on ribbon, but go for it!
MADE Everyday thanks for the help :)
thats so cute !!!!!!
Anything I can use in place of freezer paper?
Unfortunately I don't know of another product that would substitute, in this case.
Can you make a video on how to make a roll up pencil case or a box pencil pouch
Can I use parchment paper instead??? My Publix didn’t have freezer paper
Unfortunately no, parchment paper doesn't have the coating that allows it to be ironed on to and peeled off of fabric. Waxed paper doesn't work either. 😕 It has to be freezer paper...
Where would I get freezer paper
can we use butter paper instead of freezer paper?
I'm no sure what butter paper is. You could try it on a piece of scrap fabric to see if it will adhere with an iron.
Thank you, thank you. :D *best tutorial yet.
The white paint was pulling up in your letters, where it should not, after taking off the stencil. How did you fix that?
It was pulling up in some spots because I was pulling to quickly, for the sake of the video....but typically I pull slower, to make sure everything pulls away from the freezer paper smoothly.
Question can u use wax paper instead of freezer paper?
No. Unfortunately wax paper does not work the same.
What is freezer paper? Never actually heard of this before
How fun!!!!!
Can you reuse the freezer paper heart and letters?
You can if it's a simple design....when the design is more detailed, the paper has a tendency to rip and tear when you pull it off. So it's kind of a one-time usage project.
I want to create 20 shirts that say BRAILLE POWER in braille. Is there a way to make one stencil that can be used for these I have the braille font on my computer and can enlarge it. Any suggestions on how to make a template.

Have you found that a certain brand of paint works best?
Yep. Use the Tulip brand I recommend in the video. Works great!
Where did you buy that little ironing, board?
You can find them online or in fabric stores. This one is similar to mine: amzn.to/2Egfw71
awesome thanks!
I'm so gotta try this
Do I need the freezer paper
Yes, that's how the project works. Here's the one I'm using: amzn.to/2TDz9fM
Hi Dana, I love you personality how it comes out in your videos. Have you ever thought to vlog. I would love to see your life.
I put a board between the item, but paint still came through the first layer. How do you avoid that?
I don't understand -- it went through the board? If the paint bleeds through the front of the shirt where it's applied, that shouldn't be an issue as long as you have the board in place so that it doesn't affect the back of the shirt.
MADE Everyday I love your videos, thanks for responding. No, it does not come pass the board just on the front of the inside of the shirt.

I do subscribe your channel today I really love it your videos more than amazing 😉
How long until your new video
Can you repeat the website please 👍🏾🙏🏾
I triesd alphabet stencil to paint on my t shirt it dries now it looks so easy to do.
Can you re-use the stencil?
No....it's kind of a one-time use project.
This might actually help with making band merch to sell at my gigs..
Lovely
loveee ❤😂
Starting a small business. Great way for me to cut corners on buying uniforms.

Superb.....
Ha, or just print design on the freezer paper and iron it on for temporary stuff! Thanks!
You could do that, but the freezer paper cutting is the part that takes the longest....so you may as well just fill it with paint, and then you have a shirt forever!
