- Happy Tuesday Everyone! Hope your week is off to a great start. Just a heads up - in this video I use my head cam in the first three minutes to give you a POV perspective of camp. After that, I start prepping to breakdown camp and charge up my battery so I can head out tomorrow. I have one more snow video coming on Thursday, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who's tuned in this winter! I really enjoyed sharing all these winter camping videos with you! ~ Brian & Sierra

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OFF-GRID AND SELF SUFFICIENT HOMESTEADING
Definition of "Off-Grid": Off-the-grid or off-grid is a characteristic of buildings and a lifestyle designed in an independent manner without reliance on one or more public utilities. The term "off-the-grid" traditionally refers to not being connected to the electrical grid, but can also include other utilities like water, gas, and sewer systems, and can scale from residential homes to small communities.
Self-sufficient homesteading means needing no outside help in satisfying one's basic needs, especially about the production of food, and homesteading means living a lifestyle of self-sufficiency. So by those definitions, the key to homesteading is learning to be self-sufficient.
Hi Ms beautiful Sierra, keep living your best nomad life along with your human.
Brian has a black belt in 🪚🪵
Aye!!!! Been waiting on a new video!!!!
The blizzard pounded Colorado!! ❄ ⛄
How much snow did you all get?
@@OffGridBackcountryAdventures 2 ft here in Ken Caryl!! It was great haha
Nice to see the snow accumulated in some areas. Here in Southern Co...the high winds blew the snow & the little that stuck melted mid morning 😿
😊
Brian you continue to amaze with each video. I hope that you and Sierra stay warm, safe and healthy. 😊❄️❄️❄️
Brian ty for sharing your videos and time and adventures with us ALL. You are absotively awesome. HUGS and GOD bless you snd Sierra and everyone 🤗♥️
Having that vestibule is clutch!
Just when you think winter is over... Bam ! Super excited for this one 😁
This storm has been a good one!
The snow is awesome!
You are Inspirational.
I have three fur baby large dogs and we may soon be living in our van together.

Sierra is so adorable, you are such a good pup Dad.
She a great companion sweet natured as honey 🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕
This is the type of channel that gets an automatic like before even watching the video.
You're a great test case for Renogy solar panels!
I love that dog 💙
Love the sound of the fast sawing on the wood, clever idea. I really enjoy watching your journey.
Your videos are awesome and I adore Sierra. I know absolutely nothing about camping but always envied people who do this type of thing. I'm too old now but it's very interesting to watch and your love for Sierra is just too cool! I'll keep watching wishing you both the best. Your perseverance is amazing.
A hand driven power saw. AMAZING!!!
Springtime, so close! Glad you had your last close encounter with Winter!
I'm sitting in my living room yelling at the computer screen for Brian to hurry up and get his stuff together so he can get out before the snow "gums up". I'm definitely very invested in Brian and Sierra's adventures.
Thanks Annie D! Not to worry, I got this. :D BTW - Sierra says hi!
@@OffGridBackcountryAdventures hi Sierra and Brian. I know you two got this. I just get so excited and invested watching your videos. All while sitting in my warm living room lol. You two are awesome. Can’t wait for Thursday’s video. 😎👍
@@annied1863 I love how you get excited! The snow's definitely deep and so making sure to get out early is the #1 priority. If I can get out while things are still frozen then it's smooth sailing. However, this soil can really lock a vehicle in when it's wet and things get SUPER messy so I better make sure morning coffee is extra strong!
@@OffGridBackcountryAdventures I’m sure you can handle it. You always do. 💪
Brian(the fastest saw in the west) filling his wood stove😁Great video...Great snow storm. Enjoy ur day!
Haha, I like that "fastest saw in the West"! That gave me a good chuckle this morning :)
: D
Good to know about the snow turning hard like cement, thank you for the tip.
💕 the last shot of a sleeping Sierra!
🤗🤗
She is such a little angel. :)
I think you have a cool thing going here, but you always seem to be working! Plus, it warms my heart how you treat your dog. ❤️
Glad to see you using a small chain saw. Really saves a lot of time. The way that you were flying around your tent was amazing. When I need to hire someone to help me on a major project, I am calling you first. Great show Brian. Sadly it may be the last of the snow shows. Take care. Vaughn
Good morning Brian. Hope you are happy and healthy.
Hey Kenny, good morning to you as well! Doing better and on the road to recovery. You get hit hard with the snow in Colorado? It's been pretty deep here in AZ.
We got 9 inches of snow and freezing rain. Almost all melted here at home in 24 hours. I’m itching to head out. I’m always packed except for ARB fridge, tent and Winnerwell stove, clothes, dog and food. I noticed your fire poker is the same as mine. Colorado is beautiful now. The bulbs are breaking the ground, grass is getting greener and I see dandelions and wildflowers growing. My puppy Bandit loves the snow and does not mind being out for many hours in sub freezing climate. Half husky and half Labrador is a perfect mix for traveling. Super smart puppy. Plays well with others. You and Sierra will love him. Great watch dog. A good extension of my aging ears. I cannot go ne’er my Tundra without him going nuts. Thanks for your reply, brother. Happy trails and May bacon be in your pan.
I watch your show and realise “I wanna puppy”
I picture this is what its like for my husband. Hes on the other side of the world....we meet in the middle. He really helps me when In weak or need a laugh. I worry about him thou. I hope you have someone to care about you as well.
I knew I saw your truck in Flag! So cool to see you camping in my mountain town
Hi Kendall! I'll be moving to the area as I'm still in the process of getting land near Prescott National Forest. It's a little over an hour to get to Flag from the place, I'm really excited! Hoping probate court wraps up soon so I can move forward with the purchase, unfortunately the owner passed away a few days before closing and didn't have a will so things have been delayed while probate court settles his estate. I LOVE Flagstaff, what a cool town! I'm currently in Prescott, AZ (another great town) and plan to spend a week bouncing around the area down here. If you see me around Flag then please say hello, I love meeting people from my channel. Have a great day! ~ Brian & Sierra
Nice
Hi Brian & Sierra.
Hi, I think I heard you say recently, that this will be the last season, for Sierra to winter camp. If so, is this because of her age?
Once again, majestic!
Thanks Tom! This has been an incredible week - the winter scenery has been second to none.
I thought u had a battery powered chainsaw bro?? U we're burning calories!!! Wow Sierra a shedder!! Awesome 🐶!! Leaves a trail huh!!! LMBO!!
Haha, yeah I figured I'd use the ole Silky Saw for a bit....man that thing wears me out! Sierra loves bunny hopping through the snow, I think she enjoys these conditions more than I do. Such a fun dog to have with me on these adventures!
Good to you happy with your beautiful pup.do you ever pit a weatherproof jacket and booties on your pets aince its real cold and smowy.video is goid ❤blessings
Ciao Brian e ciao bellissima Sierra!
⛄️ i like your dog. So beautifull.
Hello! Nice to see you and Sierra doing well. Is it possible to cover the back part of the truck with a tarp to keep accumulation of snow at a minimum? Maybe you attach it to the luggage rack, I think that’s what you have on the roof, with a quick tie or clamp and just remove it from one or both sides so it won’t accumulate over the spare tire, back windshield, etc. I know you get so many suggestions on what to do but I just want to help you and Sierra’s day be as easy as possible. I would love to go and explore different places like you do. Hopefully you can always think of things to make it easier. Sierra looked so precious and comfy sleeping on the last shot. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us. Be safe and well til the next one.
Snow in March wow
Αγαπώ 🧡 πολύ την σιερρα. Το σκυλάκι σου
I'm gonna buy a Mr buddy heater for my tent here in Australia its getting cold now also
Those heaters work well, just be aware the byproduct of running propane is water so you might have some condensation issues pop up using propane as your heat source. Good luck out there, stay warm! If the propane doesn't work then I'd recommend a nice wood stove. Nothing better in my opinion!
Hope you were able to get out. Heard I-40 and l-17. And also 89A were closed. Due to weather conditions. In certain areas of them. Always look forward to your videos😊👍.
I was able to bust through the snow in time to get to I-40. Luckily I made it to Flagstaff before they shut everything down. I'm now down in Prescott, AZ plotting my next adventure. Hope you are having a nice start to the week! ~ Brian
@@OffGridBackcountryAdventures Glad to hear that you made it out! Yes, I am having a good start to the week. Hope you are as well. I'm sure the weather is better in Prescott 👍😁.
Nice video
Awesome vid as usual! Love the channel. How do you have good enough service to host a live stream and upload content? 🤣
How much snow do you have there now? Any wood is good wood to keep the tent warm and cozy.
Really like this tent. For some stupid reason Cabelas no longer sells them....figures
Yeah, I am disappointed they no longer sell the Big Horn III. I wonder if the decision came from Bass Pro after they bought Cabela's. There were lots of changes after that which made me scratch my head.
@@OffGridBackcountryAdventures I’ve been looking at different tents but there doesn’t seem to be many with a vestibule option. Watching your videos makes me realize how useful it would be to have one. Arctic Oven tents have tents with vestibules but their vestibules seem small. Unfortunately haven’t seen many videos of these tents set up and in use
We had all 4 seasons last week in less than 72 hours!
Brian, are You and Sierra heading to Colorado or going further south in AZ? Elsa and Barron are in Colorado now at a hot springs (you probably know that already). Wonder if you 5, are meeting up? Where ever you 2 end up, please be safe.
☃️☃️☃️☃️☃️☃️☃️
Don`t you have a scrape and a brush? :-)
Just out of curiosity why don't you keep your solar cells inside and pick up the cable for them until you need them
Good Morning Paul, thanks for watching! I think this is just laziness on my behalf. I prefer to just set them up and then dust them off in the morning if needed. I've found working with the plastic solar cords in the cold can cause them to break so I like to just leave these alone once I've set them up. Good question!
He mentioned he has an inverter in his truck. I’m guessing he doesn’t want to drag the solar panels and cables in and out of his tent all the time. Oh, and he mentioned he was breaking camp and leaving before the snow starts melting.
@@OffGridBackcountryAdventures okay thanks as I said I was curious
You can tell you have this routine down.
Go where Elsa and baron are. Lol
Who is the maker of your current wood stove?
Hello, I have a Four Dog Stove. Here is the specific model - fourdog.com/two-dog-stove-dx/.
@@OffGridBackcountryAdventures thank you. I really enjoy watching your creative works. I love the outdoors. Just getting started in RVing. Want to do more boondocking. Me and the fur babies have a great time.
Where are you heading from this?
I'm not sure...trying to figure that out over the next 24 hours. Thinking I'll probably stick around AZ and go to lower elevations until things warm up in Northern AZ.
Need electric saw
Is that a red heeler ?
Hi Joe, yeah Sierra definitely has a lot of red heeler in her. I need to get a genetics test done to see what her exact make consists of...she has some markings which aren't consistent with red heelers and her snout is a tad different. Talk about a loyal dog, she never leaves my side which is really convenient since she's off leash at camp most of the time. She's been an incredible travel companion all these years!
@@OffGridBackcountryAdventures Our blue heeler is the exact same way, she will never run off, you can walk her around the block with out the leash. Our red heeler is a bit different, shes only 2 i think this year and she still needs some training a bit
@Norma Jean Vandever I think I may wanna get into agility with our red heeler. Wanted to attempt with my 9 year old blue heeler when she was a pup but never got into it
I want the name of a sleeping bag
Cabela's Outfitter Sleeping Bag -20F
👍😍😍🦊💯
I don't know if it's just me, but I'm not a fan of the close up photography for more than a few seconds at a time. Watching the up close stuff, like sawing wood, preparing food, and especially feet walking (when some people film hiking) is extremely disorienting and makes me dizzy and ill. I like brief clips of these actions but sustained shots make me have to close my eyes. I'm not complaining, but I thought I'd share that in case that type of photography bothers others?
But in general, I love your videos and adventures! Thanks for sharing!
Are you camping on land that you own? Or is it BLM?
Good Morning Ric, this is USFS land. I do a good deal of camping on BLM land as well.
This guy saws fast af.
