I wonder what those people were doing at that time of the morning in that small town. Makes me want to visit on a sunny day ( it was dreary this day) and have a bite to eat and buy something.

That's the old Pinkerton bell tight relation to Midway College (east side just outside of town, originally Pinkerton Orphanage for girls way back) it used to signal wake up times, classes, meal times, etc.in 1952 after a modern clock and bell were installed it was no longer used. I think it was 1958 or so legislature stated how it rang true without fail since around 1858 it deserved to rest and no longer tolls, I think exceptions are made but only for very joyous celebrations of major things wars ending things like that, it was left to rest where its always been. Woodford County KY is in my soul, have never lived outside of it and never will.

@@SightsSoundsFlavors my favorite part is the fact that someone showed Midway to the world as you did thank you sir! There is just so much history here both documented and undocumented, even tacit knowledge. Remember the dark windows you were waving into in the video? That is the old original bank still has the very old style walk-in safe/vault inside. Infamous "Track-side Pie", old sewing factory. There is so much to tell just on that strip of town in your video it would have been at least ten times longer in length. In 1937 our little town's school was state basketball champions! I know that is a long time ago but think of the large city's they beat to be champs that year and I had the honor of knowing one of the players who was also a WWII Vet that was in the treacherous "Battle of the Bulge" during winter in Germany's Black Forest. Sorry I am just rambling from memory now but there is still so much more. By the way, I also seen your Versailles video and I must apologize for the one comment the one guy left you, I assure you true Woodford-countians are not like that at all. We get a lot of the ever heard the saying "you can move the boy from the city but can't move the city from the boy"? I will stop there or I'll end up writing you a whole book.
