- The initial checkout of a Uniden 5.8 GHz PowerMax cordless phone with digital answering system, model ELBT595. A rather unusual form-factor for a landline phone.

Great video of the Uniden ELBT595 5.8 GHz Powermax Cordless Telephone with the digitan answering machine, the Jordan, which the handset is kind of like the cellphone.
Thanks.
I also have the same set I saw that at my local thrift store but it and when I opened the set it was never used by the previous owner when I charged the handset the battery was deeply long dead same with base battery and I have to get it on Amazon to get the battery’s when I got it the I got an extra one on the handset and I got one battery for the base
The next day I went to RadioShack to get something I saw a extra handset for the Elbt595 it was an extra uniden flip phone handset and along with the tcx440 I got 2 tcx440 one is for my clx485 2 is for my elbt595.
And the phones were interesting the ringers sound like the clx485 and the win1200 except for the elbt595 they have Lorri song and jeux te or something but it’s a cool phone
Thanks for letting me know.
What I was talking about in my last comment on here was the idea of recording your own songs through the phone line, singing, beet, and all. Like I have said, I do intend on using one of these in my studio
I have no idea what you're talking about.
Seems like something that technology connections would cover
Indeed.
Good initial checkout video bro on this Uniden 5.8 GHz power max Bluetooth Cordless phone model ELBT595 these are very uncommon models especially this price range The ringtones sounds fantastic bro I enjoyed it
Thanks.
Interesting unit, the Jordan! Never seen anything like it.
Thanks, this is the only one I know of like it.
That's a cool phone! Never seen something like that with a flip phone!
This is the only flip landline phone I've seen.
Thanks
The initial ringtone when you first called the phone seems like it was copied from the sound that early-mid 2000s era Samsung flip phones played when the battery got low. The handset itself looks like it was copied from one as well. I would assume that Uniden might have had a cell phone manufacturer make the handset... the graphics are very much the quality and style of an early-mid 2000s flip phone.
The handset reminds me of old Sanyo cell phones
In my opinion most color display handsets are cell-phone like.
@Vincent D Uniden makes all their own stuff, this model included. I do believe their intention was to make it as close to a cellphone as possible.
@@techwithtyler20 With the exception of these two models by Uniden, none of the color display phones are anything like a cellphone.
I been trying to find this for years where did you buy it from
I don't remember, these have been out of production for a decade plus.
It is really cool that the handset is like cellular phone.
Indeed.
Cool flip phone 👍 I love it
Thanks.
Now do the ringtones on it. (Nice phone, Jordan!)
Thanks.
Can you make a video of you reviewing the ringtones on that phone
I can.
Thank u I really enjoyed it so much
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
How do you get those custom calling numbers? do you use IP or which thign?
I don't understand what you're asking.
I was just asking how do you get those random phone numbers that appear on the flip phone and handset display
That’s a nice phone
OK
Its a cordless phone with landline or a phone with cellphone line (gsm/3g, 4g)?
This is a landline phone.
@@JordanU cool!! Here on Brazil us have a phone of table but with connect by simcard , Sorry by words, my english ia Basic level
i like it
OK
Do you still have this Phone? Do you also like it?
Of course.
I got one but the battery was broken how do I get the same battery
You can probably find them on Amazon
Good Jordan. It is the flip phone
Thanks.
Yes! This is a flip phone
15:43 It looks like a Scion XB
I don't know what that is.
The TeleTone ringtone is the exact same as the Flicker ringtone but a little different
I'm not sure what that is.
@@JordanU The TeleTone sounds almost the exact same as the Flicker tone
I'm not sure what that is.
Would you ever consider either doing a range test of this telephone or since it is not a cell phone but a flip phone and very similar to a cell phone at least try to see if it would work in your car with the car parked in your driveway?
I remember seeing a post on some blog about a guy doing that. He had the base station in his car connected to a box that converted cellular signal to landline.
@@theflipphonechannel8198 I've seen a video of that too! I guess that's his "car phone". Cell2Jack, which lets you connect your cell to your landline, can be used in the same way as long as the USB power cord is plugged into the car, or into a battery pack, or other USB device.
@Tricia I have to reason to use this in the car.
@@theflipphonechannel8198 I remember that video as well, his objective was using a Verizon Wireless home phone service and moving the modem between his house and his vehicle as needed. Somewhat ironic that he'd buy two of the most expensive phone sets while going through the trouble just to save money.
@@JordanU Yeah at that point why not just get a cell phone
Is that a flip phone?
Watch the video to find out.
Ok
The handset is a flip phone.
Are you going to be using this telephone in your house?
Where else would I use it?
For some reason i thought you were going to use it at work
You still use this unit? You should sell it to me! It would definetely have a good home and be appreciated
I am not a store.
@@JordanU didn't say you were, but just offered to buy something cool from you if you no longer use it as much. That's all. My kids would love it 🤷🏻
I'll check back with ya in a year or so. Best wishes @@JordanU
What is that?

Ah. As awesome as this phone is, it does have the problem on the outgoing audio on talk mode that always turned me off Uniden, and ntil your videos, I didn't know Uniden made phones that didn't do this (Tru9485). The outgoing audio when on talk mode is overboosted, meaning you distort just by talking normally. Disappointing, given the incredible answering machine.
I've never encountered that on a Uniden set, and I've used quite a vast sample of models. I have noticed the outgoing audio has a sensitive pickup on some of the 5.8 GHz models, but I tend to speak softly on the phone so it's never been an issue.
Wow very interesting. I want one of the the expansion handsets for these phones to pair to my 5.8 Uniden phone.
I would guess the flip phone-style handset only fully works on an ELBT series model like this. It may work for basic things (making and receiving calls, intercom, etc), but depending on the base, it won't support things like Bluetooth.
I like Panasonic's way of handset compatibility better, since the handset is the same for both the Bluetooth and non-Bluetooth version of a model (there are no labeled buttons for the Bluetooth functions, they're soft keys). The exception is the KX-TGA950 since it has physical line 1/2 and cell buttons, so as with this Uniden flip phone handset, it should work for basic things, but you can't use everything that handset has to offer.
@The Flip Phone Channel This is a really neat model, they're getting harder to find for a reasonable price but if you keep an eye out you'll find one eventually. I'd get the whole base rather than just the handset, I don't believe this handset will work with other units like the 9485, and finding a main base & handset will probably be easier anyways.
Wow! Uniden flip phones
OK
@@JordanU Thank you😎
@@MAZ--ik3me uh what? lol

What about it?
In my hole life until to day never saw a filp cordless phone
But will it work with other 5.8 uniden phones?
I'm not sure.
A couple companies that made flip burger Style of cordless phones. Just not as common as never really took off. Likely due to high cost at the time and not as good built quality for price they were asking at the time. One being a Panasonic KX-T4000 aka the pocket flip introduced in 1988. This Uniden in the video was offer by Verizon at the time with their home connect package they had at the time.
@@dellAMAURIE Yes it will with Uniden TCX 860 is the other phone it work with.
@@parrotgenie5099 thx
Wtf they made a cordless phone that is a flip phone
I don't understand.
@@JordanU what i mean is that its flips open like a flip phone but it charges by a base station so its a cordless phone that acts as a flip phone but no camera and apps
I'm a Cbeebies fan
You're a nutcase.
@@JordanU what the 🤬 is a nutcase
@toadette2795, that has nothing to do with this video or channel in fact. Find something constructive to do with your time.
@@JordanUagreed
WTH
I don't understand.
Before you know you might get a touch screen cordless phone jordan
That is highly unlikely.
@@JordanU what you mean
Panasonic did do this in 2014, with the KX-PRX120, which is a smartphone-style landline. In foreign areas there's also the KX-PRX150 that's both a smartphone and landline. They're essentially Androids with Panasonic customizations, similar to how Samsung smartphones are Androids with Samsung customizations.
@@techwithtyler20 o never heard of it but ok i was just being funny
@@dellAMAURIE That was from their Premium Design series, which only consisted of a single 2013 model and 6 2014 models, 2 of which weren't designated as such but had a KX-PRx prefix, x being a 3rd letter. In foreign markets, the KX-TGK models have some of the features from the Premium Design series such as real metal, white backlit keys, and 40 ringtones (compared to the 10 or 15 ringtones of the US models). I really wish they'd bring back that series, because I really want one for my collection.
