Team DeSantis here. I don’t blame him for running in 2024. As you said, DeSantis was the guy. Trump hadn’t officially announced he was running for reelection until a couple weeks after DeSantis victory. Also, had Trump been allowed to win in 2020, then Trump would be finishing his second term and not able to run in 2024. I really think DeSantis saw this as an opening and gave it a shot. Then Trump ran again and he was immediately branded as a backstabber when DeSantis officially entered the race. I did not think Trump treated him too well during the primary.

One of Kamala’s top fundraising staffers came out yesterday and spilled the beans on a bunch of stuff. According to her, Shapiro and Newsome are the direction that the party is headed in 2028. Shapiro makes sense, since he’s a popular governor from the most important swing state…but Newsome just makes no sense, aside from the fact that he’s gotten a lot of press recently.
His state is already deep blue, he’s not gained a good reputation, and his state has actively revolted against him to undo the damage that he and Kamala have done to CA. Prop 36 just passed, which undoes the infamous Prop 45 (Newsome’s and Harris’s brain baby) which reduced non-violent felonies to misdemeanors, leading to widespread crime and low accountability under the law in CA. Newsome was also just rebuffed by the Supreme Court of CA for trying to block voter ID requirements that were voted on and passed by one district.
I genuinely think that Newsome is done and will be a liability in a national election.
Part of me hopes that they do thrust him up there, just so that we have an easier time squashing the Left next election season. Both Biden and Kamala got crushed by MAGA this season, and Newsome is literally just Kamala in a Biden Halloween mask.
    Edit:
I’m thinking that you’re right about Cuban. He’s kind of the anti-Trump - a leftist loudmouthed charismatic billionaire with a bit of that crude crass ‘bull in a china shop’ thing going for him.

“someone like that” just say Pete is gay. It’s a shame because out of all the democrats he’s probably the most qualified and charismatic. He is also one of their best communicators outside of Warnock (who is more of a empathetic speaker whereas Pete sticks to facts and logic). It’s a shame society hates gay people as much as it does. I would vote for Pete not because of identity politics but because he’s one of the few valuable pieces the democratic party has. He is the only one willing to go on Fox and debate the talking heads with their talking points and he usually cooks. He also can speak multiple languages and he’s served in the military. He’s a brave and intelligent man regardless of his sexuality.

Vivek would never, and could never be JD’s running mate, because they’re both from Ohio. So unless one of them wants to call Florida home, it isn’t going to happen.
And no, Vivek is NOT a VP. He’s said as much last year when asked about being Trump’s guy.
    Politicking? Sure. But also true.
He should stay right where he is in Columbus - as the governor until 2036.
