This song is 26 years old.Going to 30 years old, and it sounds like no time will pass for it. It's amazing that it sounds more modern than many current songs. In a blind test, I couldn't give a production date. It's timeless.Just amazing
I was listening to some uk jungle from the 90s, and even though it's good, it doesn't have the timeless quality of this dub techno. I think using samples made jungle a bit messy and directionless
@@nickhyder9141 there's plenty of timeless jungle - off the top of my head Omni Trio's "Haunted Science" LP - it's the same as techno, not all of it is as classic or ageless as Basic Channel. Ironically, Goldie's "Timeless" I would say isn't, although it's great regardless. Much of Metalheads catalog has that same timeless quality though - the Platinum Breaks series for instance.
I feel like this is the absolute pinnacle of techno. It feels like unearthing an ancient historical artefact that becomes the benchmark for everything that comes after it.
In Quadrant dub 2 they bring the hihat groove and it goes on for an insane amount of time. This quadrant doesn't even do hihats, that is incredible. I could talk about quadrant dub forever.
I came back home One night, I was late and High, i don't know how to explain but I actually could see, with a moving drone vision, (maybe due to second part where background effect is similar to a shuttle) a primitive World from above made by Just forests and some lights. Those lights were from fires made by hominides. And suddenly I am inside a cavern, making cave paintings. Strange things is, as you can see, I can clearly Remember many Years After as It was Yesterday. I never had any drugs in my life. I felt it as connection with primitive world😂. It would be interesting to see what happens to human cerebral cortex when listening to this. Sorry for length, I needed to share it.
DubTechno isn't like normal music. It's like something magic, sent from another world, created by aliens. Dunno how to describe but it's close to Nirvana.
I danced to this with my eyes closed at the e-werk/berlin in 1994 played by woody. The true german soul is the most beautyfull in the entire universe. And Moritz is one true pioneer. haerter.
you are not german then, and u never danced to it in the finest club ever. i also guess you never read schiller, wieland or eschenbach. there is nothing comparable in the whole wide world. thats the point.
you are right.. i hate clubs, i dance in the woods on free open air parties.... i read Goethe once and from Schiller i have read Die Rauber.... BUT the true german soul was lastly seen when building nazi concentration camps...
@@doozaone There are many things comparable, to say otherwise is ignorance. While for you it may be comparable, for someone else they may not feel nearly a dang thing about it. Gtfo out of here with your "true German" bs.

I wholeheartedly agree, this and all of Basic Channel's other tracks have not aged one bit. Truly magnificent music.
@@nickhyder9141 if there is only one timeless jungle track, it's Photek's "Complex".

Incredible music! it's so hard to describe. Timeless too.
I could also talk about Quadrant Dubs I & II forever, and I often do.
you know it's a good groove when you don't even need to bring the hi-hats in
Come back and talk about Quadrant dub more :)
I hope that this is one of those songs that will live on for people to listen to in a thousand years
An amazing vinyl record on a loud system, one that bangs without being

So good. Those synths shooting across in the foreground chopping and changing really make this track. Loadsa detail
feels haunted, feels like somewhere i know but never been
sometimes i wonder why this track still alive on the dance floor in the morning, but i feel magnetic now.

Great description. I feel like it could be played on a shuttle returning to Earth, after a successful intergalactic mission.
haha, I think it's very basic and natural like a heartbeat or water flowing. Cheers mate!

This is a copy of Ashra or Manuel Göttsching!!...
They were definitely influenced by Göttsching, but it's certainly not a copy.
