glad i’m not the only one who thinks spiderland has one of the best album covers ever despite it’s simplicity. captures the sound and aesthetic of the record perfectly
This is by far the best video about Spiderland I've seen on this website. It's an all-time fav for me, so I tend to search youtube every now and then to see if anyone has done something on it (or Slint in general.) Usually I just get the theneedledrop review and some subpar attempts to cram relevant info from Breadcrumb Trail into a short video, so seeing this is a very welcome surprise. Great stuff, hope to see more stuff like it in the future!
I found your channel a couple of weeks ago and have been binging it and still haven’t listened to Spiderland despite getting it on vinyl recently so this is perfect timing
This is a masterpiece album...I love everything about it but most of all Britt Walford's drumming is out of this world. 4 teenagers from my hometown (Louisville) and Steve Albini influenced generations to come.
It is incredible to hear how you are able to articulate each individual detail about this record with such genuine experience even down to the simplicity of the composition of the record cover photo. Has to be one of the best music analysis videos on UA-cam. Great work!
cant think of a more perfect 420 out-of-the-blue vid drop. and now for my next trick ladies and gentlemen i will proceed to take a huge rip and listen to thesoundbinge say cool stuff
So happy to see that you reviewed this record! Always seemed like it was so special to you so it’s great to hear your interpretation of it. Glad to have you back!
SHES FUCKING BACK MAN WELCOME BACK AMES But in all seriousness, while I’m not familiar with this project I’m really happy to see you talk about something that means a whole lot to ya! Much love!
I like the way you talk about music it'd be a trip to hear your thoughts on Endon's through the mirror. Or really just make more videos about whatever albums you dig
the album and its accompanying cover photography are some of THE MOST UNHINGED displays of art i've ever experienced, in my life. nothing is alrite in the lives of these four guys during 1990.
Watching this makes me simultaneously thoroughly impressed with your writing quality, and at the same time jealous as shit. So perfectly done. This is definitely the best essay I've ever seen about this monumental album. For me, this is my 2nd favorite album of all time, but whenever I put pen to paper, i just can't describe how I feel about the album. It's almost uncanny, there is something so bleakly alive about Spiderland, inbetween fiction and reality, like a blurry view through stained glass. There is so much distance, yet grasps you closer and closer every second. I hope that one day I can write down my feelings on this record in an adequate way, like you've done here. Well done.
Random weirdo comment that maybe you won't see or care about. I strongly feel that you need to talk to my brother. I've been watching your reviews and following your artistic journey for a few years. Obviously, I don't know you personally, but I have this immense feeling you two would click. I've mentioned your channel to him before though I don't believe he's seen your content. Perhaps it's a lofty idea thinking this comment would bear fruit. Not certain either of you have the time or interest in doing so. Every now and then I'll return to one of your videos or the art on your site. Without fail that same notion always comes to mind. I'm starring through a glass pane at a blurry image of something that could be. Maybe that potential has a finer shape on the other side? A passing thought I suppose. I hope you're well 🙂
girl come back.....

So much of what your saying about Spiderland mirrors what I feel about The Inalienable Dreamless by Discordance Axis
