My first ever character was a Harengon Swarmkeeper Ranger! I had so much fun with her. Although I went with ranged weapons. I went straight Ranger - didn’t multi class at all.
What are these stats, you gave yourself the +2/+1 bonus stats from your race twice. You can't start with a 19 on point buy or standard array, you should have 17wis ann 15dex.
Like I say in my videos, it is a modified standard array. I have been using it for years, Dungeon Dudes use something similar and so do several others on YT and elsewhere. Everyone does stats different so it is likely that adjustments would have to be made anyway. Thanks for the comment!
I guess Ill give my take on the build... I really liked playing a Fighter 1/Ranger 5 strength based polearm master swarmkeeper. Two wo standard and one bonus attack with the weapon, and use the swarmkeepers self movement ability to safely back up a square so if they approach you, you can take a 4th attack using the PAM attack of opportunity. Kind of a desert warrior character like Dune's Fremen of the Wheel of Time's Aiel. I themed the swarm as sand magic.
I love crossing it with a spores Druid. Combine the swarm and the spores into the same entity. I have a dhampir where the swarm and “spores” are bats. Though it’s more of a spore druids as swarm keeper is more for extra attack as I want as many temp hit points as possible
Spores Druid is really nice and was almost what we mixed this with this week. I feel like the flavor isn't a stretch and mechanically it's not terrible either
Liked a lot the firefly flavor for the spirit, really surprised me! If i wanna play this character like a melee ranger i like Spore for the multiclass 🪲
Really thinking abt playing this but multi classed w the stars druid :))) I’m just really into the whole lunar+stars theme and have this vision of my swarm being luna moths Hitting something with a guiding bolt then my swarm being drawn to it >>>>>
Im playing a swarmkeeper that im prob only taking 5 levels im because that gives most the stuff I want. Its based on fire type stuff, my race is a varient feral tiefling and my swarm is small embers that converge into my wings. Might go into wildfire druid
@@DapperSnapperGaming I was just playing around with rangers and made the idea. I'm thinking either to go full fire based with the wildfire druid or full assassin rogue for the rest of it I'm still undecided though
Well let's see what would I multiclass this with obviously it has to do with something animal-based due to the swarm. I'd say warlock maybe hexblade but Fey does look like the more appropriate subclass in the warlock to multi-class this with at least that's my opinion flavor wise, it does provide a unique twist on the swarmkeeper and on top of that the hex spell wouldn't hurt either. But that's just me

The desert theme sounds like a ton of fun!
