One of my favorite parts of these thriftmas videos is how different everyone's style is! @LainiOzark , like I said, wears a little more minimal neutrals, but also has fun with patterns and colors! I really wanted this thrifted mystery box to have good basics that she can layer for winter (since she lives in proper winter Michigan weather) and I wanted to include pieces that each had a purpose and wouldn't create clutter for her closet!

11:29 I’m actually obsessed with that coat. Don’t beat yourself up girl, I live in Canada and I’ve been struggling to find a GOOD quality winter coat. One that fits right, looks nice, not cheap, ect.

One of my favorite things was the red vest. It's very signature Laini, I think. If I were her, I'd try it under the gray sweater. The black jacket you got also looked great on her--it looked velvet or velveteen, which I think Laini should wear more often!

Pea Coats are double breasted. I have a great black all-wool pea coat I got for 15$ at Goodwill. I wear it constantly in winter (unless it's raining)

Once snagged a 🆒️ navy wool pea coat at a deep discount back in the late 90s. 🛄 Wore it for an extended business trip to Washington DC〰️& it was perfect for their snowy🌨 conditions. 🤫I'm afraid it didn't survive in my closet here ... all it did was gather dust. Finally gave it away for someone else to enjoy.

I prefer a turtleneck to a mock neck because many times the mock is very short and a turtleneck covers my entire saggy old neck lol. I wore turtlenecks in my youth because I had an Audrey Hepburn neck and they looked great on me then menopause happened and the felt too restrictive hot and uncomfortable but now I’m back and love them again. What I have recently figured out is that I don’t look good in a crew neck or a short mock neck so boat V square scoop turtle sweetheart are where I’m at
