Thanks for picking this course. I played it for years when it was just 9 holes. It was always a working man's course and hard to score on. I left San Diego county in 89 so I never got a chance to see this course since leaving. I keep in touch with friends there and they told me it had been converted to 18 holes some years ago. I also enjoyed Mr. Short Game and am now a subscriber to his v logs. I love your posts and recommend it to all my golfing friends. Keep up the good work!
You guys have lived up to your name with this video... from Pebble Beach to Goat Hill... true “Golfholics”... it doesn’t matter the track! Golf is golf baby! Good video fellas
I've said it before - you guys single-handedly have made everyone want to step up their video quality game in the golf content world. I got lots of practicing to do!
It’s very cool to see you guys play a relaxed and low tension round after playing some higher end, more difficult courses recently! Great change of pace, Golfholics!
I like Mr ShortGame's videos. He has fun interesting tips. Makes jokes. Anyone can have an off round. Don't mean this as a hate comment -- but when people better then me mess up it just reminds me that golf is a tough game and it's easy to get out of synch! He's also playing a sherbet orange Volvik! I love those balls!
Course came out showing it’s teeth! Looks like that yardage will fool ya into thinking it’s a easy track. Reminds me of a local one we had that was right with tons of trouble and all elevated greens so if you miss it’s tough up and down!
I disagree with that rating. The greens are super tricky and slop every with way. We heard Charlie Hoffman and Xander Schauffele had a match on this course recently and both didn't score well.
Vigilant Eye 1 A rating is taken from the “average good scores from scratch golfers”? If that’s the case then the rating is even more jacked up then I thought. An average score from good golfers when they play well is no average at all. It also doesn’t take course conditions into consideration. What if there was a 30mph wind. Does that mean it’s the same difficulty as the average? I think not.
Man the hate for Mr short game is a joke. The dude chucks on free tips and obviously treats it all as a hobby and a bit of fun and gets roasted for a few average shots on a goat track. Pull your heads in and enjoy the free entertainment and the effort everyone goes to when providing it. Golfholics this is one of my favourite vlogs thus far, love the short, challenging, fun courses like that!
@@Golfholics Last Friday I literally play the worse course in So Cal. The Links at Victoria. Gawd Awful. But the foursome booked it and I didn't want to back out and a dbag. While the course was horrific. I hit an iron out of the sand for the first time and got the ball on the green from 140 out. So that made my day! I also hit a nice iron on a par 3 and watched it roll off the hill like you guys and got goated! I'm still a duffer but I treat every course as a learning experience and a chance to work and get better at one little thing. Also sometimes it's also about who you are playing with. The foursome were fun peeps and that's that most important part of the whole day! Go Volvik Sherbert Orange!
GREAT VLOG GUYS!! The course really puts a premium on accuracy and distance control. Great focus MARKO with the COURSE MANAGEMENT!! GO FIGURE COACHO, LOL.
Mr Short game is taking some friendly fire in the comments section. He was obviously nervous/excited to play with Golfholics so cut him some slack. Seems like a positive good guy.
I got "goaded" watching this video, you guys get to play golf in Jan and here in MN we're still 3 or 4 months away. LOL :) Thanks for being the best UA-cam channel out there Golholics!
Love little courses like this that challenge your game rather than bombing drivers, Like Brian said ,elevation changes , wind, hills, drop offs, an all around challenge. :)
You should come down to St. Louis and play some of the courses here. Bellreive, St. Louis country club, and Warson country club are three amazing ones that I can think of off the top of my head. Might want to wait until it’s a little bit warmer though haha.
Great content Bois , Was a Super fun course Vlog to watch , Mr short game is actually really good in what he does , And learned a bunch of small things from his channel ... Yoo Golfholics , Goody bag coming soon ??? i would deff sign up for something like that ... :)
That is a great deal on some golf!! Maybe not the best looking course but it is golf the greens looked nice though and you guys definitely looked like you were enjoying it!! That course just wants you to use driver but I think sometimes the smart play is the better way!!
I don't think Marco is going to card a 4 under today!! LOL! People just don't give par 3 courses enough credit. I had a short course like this before and found it to be fun, but also very challenging. JM2C. And I follow Matt's channel as well. I think he was just nervous playing with you guys. He's 3 holes in so I'd expect him to settle down and play now.
Random thought: Wish you could have played Champions out in Corona before it closed down. Would’ve been a fun round to see. Goat Hill’s elevation changes kind of reminded me of that track. I was playing Champions once when Charlie Hoffman was there incognito getting prepped for Augusta and the severe slopes.
Goat Hill is so tough! You literally can't take driver at any of the holes cuz there's always so much trash around the greens/fairways. Greens are super tough. Great target golf for a great price.
Comment section going in a bit hard on Monsieur Short I feel... Poor chap.... Anyhoo, always a pleasure to watch you guys play. Always positive, upbeat and having a great time. You guys always inspire me to get out and play, even though it's consistently 20-30mph winds and lashing rain here at the moment 👍🏻 I'll be teeing off as the sun comes up tomorrow morning 😁
Was gonna try balboa park when I was out there a couple years ago but never did. If you guys could try that place just to see what I missed that would be cool.
Wow a Short but really tough course.. elevated hard greens! Lots of haters and doubters already as I can see here on the comments but I can relate.. its hard to get up and down on these types of course layout.. this is actually a very good test of skill and accuracy and not all about distance.. good to see you guys playing on a cheaper but challenging course like this.. my only complaint is the camera focus is that a new camera? Lol
you guy's need to lay off the brewsky! but still fun to watch. I used to play these goat tracks when I first started, cheap golf and good greens are worth every penny.
Frozen Rope is originally a baseball term for a laser throw from the outfield without using loft to get the ball there. Can also be used to describe a throw out on a steal attempt or any great throw (or hit) that is well done. The same applies to the golf shot. It's generally lower flighted and straight at the stick. Something like this: ua-cam.com/video/WYAxk01E404/v-deo.html
I think EAL played this course recently as well with the owner. Different type of course with lots of challenges but not in the greatest shape. Looks like it would be fun.
I do think Mr. Short Game was nervous & he flushed himself down the toilet also with his mealy-mouth, self presentation. But, then again, nobody hit those good shots for him. There's a lesson there: don't sell yourself short. Keep laughing and enjoying what you're doing. Sooner or later, you'll relax and be yourself. That's it - being yourself in a relaxed manner really is the best you can do. Oh, one more thing: Coach is a good player. I've seen him hit the flag stick many, many times in these videos. Coach does have a wedge game & he can putt. That could intimidate anyone.
Sick vid as always guys. Bski out there is always a treat too. Keep rocking it boys, 2019 has just started but you guys are killing it. Side note to the GolfHolics fam, I am subscribed to the channel, have notifications on however I never see the videos on my home page. Under recommended or "from your subscriptions" which I find odd. Nothing ever shows up there for me from GolfHolics, but I do get the notification in the upper right and can click that. Wondering if anyone else has run into the same?
Think that " local knowledge" would have been useful😉, all getting " goated". Love Bski, but, watching this from the UK and Brian, that's not a wind, that is a gentle breeze! Come over here, we will show you a real wind🙈😳👍. Some of our courses by the sea ( coast) can change clubs by 4 or 5 easily. My old course had a 158 yard par 3 and even long hitters regularly took driver ( admittedly when we played with wooden woods,)

Goat Hill!! What a great track...Thanks again for another great video guys!!
Punchbowl will be fun!!
Happy New Years all!!
Great video. Very entertaining... you guys are human. Course kicked your butts
mr short game , one of you tubes best!!!!! love his energy ,thanks
Man 30 minutes just fly by when watch these course vlogs. You guys keep up the great work.
Mr. Short Game took a while to warm up that's for sure. Good time guys. Look forward to hooking up again soon.
Happens to the best of us.
Love your channel. been a subscriber of yours for a awhile now.
Orange golf ball sauce. Not sure if helps or hurts. Haha. Another fun video to watch gentlemen
I like vids dude! I wanna try the simulator place in Torrance. And you were playing the Volvik Sherbert Orange ball!
I LOVE UR VIDS!
Two of my fav channels! Bring on the AWESOME! Great work you guys!
I love Dave's approach on giving attention to the kids who may not be at the top of their class. Nice work you guys!
Brutal!
This is what golf used to look like kids. Mean, old, and natural.
You all got Goated!!!! Definitely adding that phrase to the collection!
I like B's swing, just a smooth effortless swing!

Great vlog, love those short courses, small greens and lots of challenges. Thanks for getting there and showing an affordable muni.

Totally agree! This course was no joke even if you have game.

MrShortGame Golf good stuff mate, just subscribed and looking forward to checking out some of your vids, all the way from Australia 😁
Good on you Nathan from another Down Under.
That is one tough little course. Kinda plays like an old Scottish course. Great to see Bski again and a good follow-up after an epic week.
Looked like you guys had a great time and it was fun to watch you play on the regular joes track! Great video!

Man!! Marko looks good with those sunglasses😎

Man I would need a fresh cold beer about every two holes on that course. Thanks for the vid boys.
Advice to Mr. Short Game.. next time “what happens at GH stays at GH “ 😀
Love your UA-cam channel. Thanks for what you do and the way you do it! 👍
Love this challenging short but very tough course and the price is right too.
i love the positive commentating lol you guys got worked !!!
Mr short game! Been waiting for this collaboration.
Most entertaining golf vid that I’ve watched this year.
I was literally ready to buy a towel until you said it doesn't have a hook.... lol 😂

Golfholics are making Mondays tolerable. Thank you!
Wow. Picture quality is stellar!! Great work.
Use to play there when I lived in Carlsbad. One of the bad things is that if you miss the green, you are often hiking up or down a steep hill.
How many shots is Marko going to start giving everyone now?? 😁 Love it.
Beauty of golf. No matter how long - how short, you still need to make the shot.

I love playing at the goat, fun course for all levels
So does length make a golf course hard? This course shows how shotmaking is critical not length. Nice vid!
Only time I was forced to hit an approach shot over a mower was during "Superintendent's Revenge" day!!
18:04 Thats not wind! Wind is when your hat won't stay on. You guys need to come and play golf in Scotland.
That course could be in Sydney, Australia. Amazing family resemblance. I'm sure Californians hear that all the time.
During my first time out there, I got goated.. by hitting at the disc golf flag 😂😂😂
Mike, mind if I ask what benefit you find to truvis?
Proper video as usual! Can you explain “Frozen Rope” coach? LOL

In Britain they might instead say, "straight as a dart".
Marko the shades!🔥
Crazy golf course guys but looks fun.
This is the kind of golf course you’ll find in the UK...short, narrow and rough fairways, with small greens. It’s a whole different game!
Biski looks so much better with a beard!
Coach, what made you switch to the graphite shafts? I'm considering doing the same due to slow swing speed, age, etc...
Bushwood CC, is that a caddy shack hat?
Yes it is.
I think Mr Short game needs to go work on his SHORT GAME!! Hahahahahaha
Do as I say not as I do.

Two of my all time favorite channels working together. Please invite Matt back. I'm sure he'd like to redeem himself.
You just know the vids gonna be fire🔥🔥
Big stage jitters? Like your channel, gotta turn up bruh👍
@Golfholics, i would love to see you guys do a vlog with Peter Finch and Rick Shiels, or even Brody smith! Let's make it happen fellas!!
Looks like the course would be a BLAST to play. I think we get jaded with pristine conditions. If those greens were running at 11 it would be comical
What model Spys are those sunglasses Marko? I looked on your website but the link is not there. Let me know. Those things are sweet!

We have a similar course by us, par 65 except two par 5's. Hackers course lots of fores heard!!!! And the course conditions look about the same :)
A course that lives up to its name.
Tecolote Canyon is another fun short course is San Diego. Greens are perfect 👌
Spent a lot of time at that range when in college.
