If you find yourselves over loaded with pickling cucumbers ( I remember you took the last overload to the auction and didn’t get the price you were looking for), maybe you could make a batch of pickles to sell . I’m sure there are some of your customers who don’t do pickling themselves and would like to buy the ones you make. Just a thought.

All of my plants seem shorter this year. I'm in NE Iowa and we've had a ton of Canadian smoke. It has definitely affected my garden. We irrigate, so drought hasn't been a factor. My cabbages are probably the best producers up to this point. Our eggplant died. We did good on broccoli and cauliflower Peas weren't too hot for us, and green beans are slow. Same with cucumbers. I did a late planting of cucumbers as the normal ones won't produce enough for my need. This is the first time that I've resorted to planting a late crop. Now I pray for a late frost!

seemed liked a pretty productive day. Lots of repetitive work from everyone all the time. Ya'll's system works cause of the teamwork. We have a small 1 growing acre, high density farm with pretty much two of use working it split. vegetables/flowers. Tons of work...maybe not time but lots of grunt quick paced work. it's good you have a system...we are still learning ours, since no home market, only two split markets in the week. We do ok, and are narrowing our crops to purchasing plantings. I'm glad you guys have a farming family. Although at time it seems like a married into profession. it is a notable one. why are we the ones with the lower income (even if high at times) when we feed people, inform people, and introduce people to foods they have never known...p.s. it's amazing how many people question what a broccoli is...with the leaves still on.

I am so in the mood for some fresh farm grown yellow and green zucchini, and there are none in our stores to buy. The people coming to shop for vegetables do not know how privileged they are to buy such gorgeous produce. If I lived close by I would be one of your loyal supporters. Well life is what it is, wishing you all the best with the harvesting, everything is growing so well with the rains you are getting, it is amazing to see the fields and the plants are so healthy. Without doubt, Kelly is growing so beautifully, she is such a treasure joining in with her little greetings. Enjoy the rain, the harvesting, life!! Do take care, kind regards.
