I think that is such a darling idea. I do have a suggestion you can always tape the smarty to a tooth pick it a small pointy stick then stick that to the ball.

Very cute idea. I will use this for one of my teacher friends for their birthday. Next time I would just put the erasers on the pencils so you don't have to use glue on them.

Also with the smarties, you can get a package of plastic sword-picks or sucker sticks & glue with non-toxic glue secure with tape and cover with a cut out paper flower & attach them to the smarties or other candy that doesn't have a good wrapper or needs length. Then you don't have to worry about contamination of the candy in case the teacher shares with her students as rewards. Also another suggestion, mix regular candy with sugar free candy for the diabetics or health conscience. Again, good if the teacher wants to share candy with students. 💜💜💜
Also have you tried putting the ball on last so the tissue paper can be wrapped around without the glue process messing it up? Also won't be a top heavy challenge while placing items. Or using a lazy Susan to rotate the project like when decorating a cake.

Karla Bavousett I do candy bouquets and I totally agree. I also would have put the erasers on the pencils and maybe bought a cute scarf to ‘‘tis the tissue paper on. Over all it is adorable. But maybe a 2 liter would’ve been less top heavy. FANTASTIC GIFT IDEAS..

Why not using party tooth picks to glue or tape on then put in the ball? Just a thought.

Your welcome! Got the idea from instructions on making a candy apple with cheesecake filling. A melon-baller / mini ice cream scoop was used to make a hole in the apple. Lol!
