I've been Mongo for several years, didn't know there was anything wrong with it. Now that I think about it, yeah, it makes sense. Looking forward to correcting my push, working on higher Ollie, and kickflip this year.
I'm getting back into skating. Its been about 15 years. When I wasnin my teens and 20s i always pushed Mongo. I never even knew what that was. Now trying to push regular is extremely difficult to learn. After a few months of trying to relearn that I have found that I'm just better Mongo. I dunno ill stick with it but I'm more confident and better Mongo tbh.
Same with me, I started pushing mongo and I'm having a hard time relearning the "correct" way. I can turn, control the board just fine and I can push faster then all my friends lol
I started skate boarding not having any knowledge on how to push a skateboard and pushed mongo. Now that I got a new board and I’m tryna take skating seriously I can’t change my stance so I’m not sure if I should change it or keep it because my I’m pretty stable riding mongo
Time to debate mongo: Every reason that he gives to not skate mongo doesn't make sense. 1. First off, just look at this pathetic EXAGGERATED example 1:34. 2. How is having your foot on the back on the board any different than having it on the front? Is a skateboard not symmetrical? 3. He says you can't keep the board stable with mongo. How? As a guy who likes to think has some logic, when I first got on my skateboard I always assumed it made a lot of sense to have your dominated foot on the board to STABILIZE it? It's a board with wheels on it, so obviously it doesn't take much effort to make it roll, so why risk having your non dominated foot on the board? It just seems like your prioritizing speed over fundamentals which is just reckless. Just think about the proper way of cutting a steak. You look foolish if you're holding the knife with your dominate hand because it's the knife that does the cutting, just like it's the wheels that roll the board. 3. And finally, he says you could potentially kick the board as you attempt to bring your pushing foot back on the board. Wtf? Does the same concept not apply with a non-mongo stance? and if anything, it's just a tad riskier because you can't see your foot because it's behind you. So there you have it, I feel like there is no good argument whatsoever to convince me not to push mongo other than it's a stupid stigma that cool kids like to use to put beginner skaters down.
I'm surprised that the obvious reason why pushing mongo is physically "wrong" is never mentioned, even by dudes like Dale. CENTER OF GRAVITY. Every instability factor afterwards is a result from the center of gravity being over the back truck or even further back almost over the tail while swinging the pushing leg forward again to gain new momentum. Kinda plain to see just by the motion sequence, the body is never really over the board.
Dude, same with the razor tail Dale. The main problem is not that thing hitting your chin. The main problem is that the pop is not efficient anymore because your tail goes from being rounded and therefore the pop being focused on a single point to your pop being distributed to a flat surface resulting in a weaker counter reaction and a loss of force. I guess you should start wrapping your head around it yourself first before schooling us.
I push mongo, and when you push mongo you FULLY balance on the board. That's how it's done. You balance on the back of the deck and your weightless front foot pushes then you just gotta swing around sideways. It's no big deal really
Pushed mongo before most of these “experts” were even born. Always will and don’t care. It’s easier to get Over shitty terrain when pushing long distances. If you care so much, then don’t push that way… or be mad you can’t push that way as easily as some of the better skaters who can…

How is that even possible?
Nothing wrong with it. I’ve been skating since mid 90s… still mongo, still can skate. Don’t care what the Posers think.
I used to push mongo😂 helped me with skating switch though.
Me to
Yeah my switch game is hella good now
Best thing about pushing mongo when you're a beginner is that later on you'll have a really solid switch push.
Facts
Dale: avoid stepping on dirt then on ur board
Me: got it scoop up dirt with fork then put on board
i relate to the last one thank you lmao i now have dirt on my grip and i don’t know how to get it out :/
I always hated when people would make fun of people who push mongo. Skating after all is suppose to have no rules 🤷🏻
I push mongo, and mall grab deliberately to piss off the “skaters” who care what others do
Just got home from skating, ate shit on concrete at -2 celcius so I think I need to watch this
Pain is always worse when it’s cold

I would recommend pushing with a different foot if you’re having that much trouble pushing normally
@Cheerio Box There sort of is. Besides style, it can be more dangerous
It just takes time bro, you just feel comfortable pushing Mongo but it’s more efficient pushing correctly
Same with me, I started pushing mongo and I'm having a hard time relearning the "correct" way. I can turn, control the board just fine and I can push faster then all my friends lol

Nobody in their right mind:
Dale at the park: 3:51
Or...Just skate how you want to and have fun.
@Cheerio Box CCS isn’t his channel, they pay for him for this 💀
Hi
As a beginner, I've never done mongo. I've always kept my front foot on the board and kicked with my back
Good for you.
i have mud and dirt down my griptape oopsies
Pushing mongo not bad, Razortail not bad stops your tail from chipping & getting cracks.
Love thos
You should NOT learn kickflips first
pog
no rules for skateboarding this is bs
I feel like this just makes sense
its just proper technique
@Cheerio Box Name those pros that are pushing mongo? Are you sure it wasn't just switch
