I met Mark Zonder in mid ninties...Didn't even know who he was. Met him at a FW show...SUPER NICE, HUMBLE GUY!! Then when I saw him play I was like "Man I was just talking to that guy!! And I have NO idea what the hell he is doing but he is amazing!! Probably my favorite drummer since...
I have loved these guys since i first heard them back in the No Exit days. Mark is a god among men. Ray is my favorite singer of all time, no matter how he is singing, from the crazy high notes of Anarchy Divine to Bleed me Dry with Redemption. Jim's playing and song writing is without compare and Joey is an animal! Every stage FW has been through has been great. Thanks so much guys for all the awesome music, I can't wait for the next CD!
The Fates at their peak in this video. I'm a long time fan, since the Awaken the Guardian days, but I've never had the pleasure of seeing them live. I knew Zonder was one of the top drummers, but until I saw this video, I didn't realize he played in traditional grip. That elevates his class to me. Most rock and metal drummers play matched grip, but Zonder is the only Metal drummer I have ever seen do it. Neil Peart is the only Prog drummer besides Zonder that I am aware of using it.
I totally agree...his creativity is uncommon...IMHO he's the main reason for the evolution on this great band....the guitars were always this great, but the complexity of the drums patterns was missing...to really fits those riffs...Zonder's a genius!!
there's something weird about the whole APSOG live VHS. I think Ray re-recorded some vocals in post production. Its not in sync. Don't get me wrong, Ray is AWESOME. I saw them twice on this tour and also have some audio bootlegs. Ray was great. But something is weird.
Matheos is such a godly player, but he's so lifeless on stage. Vera on the other hand, probably equally as skilled, yet his stage presence is excellent.
Zonder is a BEAST of a drummer!!
How are Fates not more popular??? All their tracks are GOLD!
Awesome as always!!! Mr Zonder is from another planet!!!

I have to say, A Pleasant Shade of Grey is possibly the best prgoressive metal album put out since 1995.
No Fates Warning = No Dream Theater. Bow to our leaders
This song has everthing a prog metal fan could ask for, the definition of a three minute masterpiece!
Mark Zonder man.. fuckin amazing
Peart only uses it only on occasion now, mainly with Test for Echo material.
I love their music, but seems like they're the most underrated band ever!
APOS is a brilliant recording, a true masterpiece and by far, Fate's best studio/live effort. Top notch musicians at work, no doubt.
Man, Alder is flawless. Must see them Before I die. Been a fan since '87. Oops, showing my age!
I can never get enough of this album - I'll be listening to it when its 2050 and I'm an old man
Zonder's mind is not human...no human would ever be able to come up with those patterns
waooo the bass riff at the biggining is amesing
Jim Matheos is a GENIUUSS
Whoa, must get this album out and listen again, truely underrated band, I wish I had this dvd with mine, amazing!!
Fates has always had one of the best rhythm sections in prog metal
Το think that I got this album for free from a magazine... Such a masterpiece!!!

one of the most underrated bands:(
nevertheless,great band!!!
not on this concert,Ed Roth was playing on this live show.Kevin Moore created this album with FW.
The drummer and singer are insanely talented.
this video proves that Fates sound is faster than light by a a few nanoseconds. Long live prog-metal!!!!
I totally agree...his creativity is uncommon...IMHO he's the main reason for the evolution on this great band....the guitars were always this great, but the complexity of the drums patterns was missing...to really fits those riffs...Zonder's a genius!!
Zonder is incredible! Fates is by far the best live metal band I`ve ever seen.
i caught a stick he trew on the crowd when FW came to San Antonio. zonder is fkn amazing! FW FTW!
wonderful song!
I still have this on VHS somewehre
I know he is still mostly matched grip, but he's the only other prog drummer I was aware of using traditional grip, even if it's not full time.
A Pleasant Shade of Gray is their best album
Fates Warning :) :) :) :) ROCK ON!!!!!!
Wow. I hear ALOT of these guys in Dream Theatre. I believe this was before DT.

Zonder is a fucking genius!
The Peart of prof metal
Best drumer
Progresivo del bueno..
Well, if not the best, at least inside the Top-5.
Zonder is my hero! I still love Neil Peart but I gotta say I'm way more influenced by Mark!
Zonder is amusing!!
Joey Vera best bassgiuitarist.
Does anyone know where this was live from?Place or date recorded live?
Jim Matheos!!!!!
He's no James "cheese" LaBrie, that's for sure!
🤘❤️🔥❤️🔥ZONDER❤️🔥❤️🔥🤘
FUCKING ZONDER!!!! I humbly bow my head in reverence....
Matheos is such a godly player, but he's so lifeless on stage. Vera on the other hand, probably equally as skilled, yet his stage presence is excellent.
I don't think they're underrated
Sounds a bit like Rush, honestly.
