I follow this tutorial to actually run figma in my linux. I failed to install figma windows app with wine and going around trying if the macOS version is available. This takes hours and the result still failed. Darling doesn't support figma. It used about 9 GB in storage so i think i'm gonna delete it. 👋
Linux experts, gather together, instead of 20-30 Linux versions, reduce it to 4-5 versions. Let Mac programs work with full force. Let's get rid of the MacOS monopoly. Linux can be installed on almost every machine, this is freedom. Come together for freedom.
Will this be the best way to run League of Legends on linux in the future? I wish the Darling developer knew how much monetary support he could get if he focused on this.
Someday you will maybe be able to run things like ms office. This could be a solution for all the people that need these proprietry apps that dont run on linux but on mac os
There is a single Mac program that I want to use: Red Falcon, a level editor for NES Contra, that for some bizarre reason is only available for Mac. That and maybe Garageband. But there's more chance of unmodded WINE supporting something like FL Studio first.
Damn, once I found it (about two or three years ago), but then after a year when I need it forgot the name of the software and Google didn't show me any relevant link. I remember that it has some wordplay referencing something related to macOS, but forgot exactly what. In my brain it transformed to Cider because it is beverage like Wine but made from Apple. But that was wrong logic. Thanks to remind me
Not the GUI interface but the xcode CLI. Also knowing that even WINE did take a long time to became what it is. We can definitely say that it can be possible in the future.
Awesome. I've always wanted to be able to run... oh.. nevermind.
real
OrangesPlus Calculator, only works on wIndows (native, doesnt works on wine) and mac os.
Oh wow, i forgot about this project. I'm happy to see it's still going.
this is a impressive start! cant wait to see more.
Building software for mac without buying a mac? that's amazing!
If only we could run xcode/ios sim with this
It not supporting any GUI is something you could have said at the start lmao
Oh this is super cool. I am def gonna try this write blog posts.

MacOS doesnt monopoly. Windows does
I saw the dependencies, it likes to remove most of my kde packages, that' s not cool, maybe a docker container will fix this.
wait... could it be possible to run adobe and ms office apps like that in the future??

WINE was first released in 1993. Let Darling have it's time. :)
So darling is like wine? So what would the "bottles" equivalent be?
bottles is an application that makes using wine easy (or at least easier)
@anonymouscommentator what about darling?

Anyone who can try running Figma? Not on Linux yet. Reviewing currently, and being able to install the figma Mac app would be great.
