  • Owned 10 months: Since the day we bought it I have wanted to install a TrailTech Vapor (digital display) Kit on our 2021 Honda CRF125FB. I'm happy it's finally on! A link to the TrailTech Vapor Kit is included below in the list of modifications and upgrades.
    We purchased this new 2021 Honda CRF125FB (Big Wheel) from Western Honda in Scottsdale, on 2/26/2021. Our Salesman Dennis was great to work with and very helpful through the purchase process. This is video #19 in our 2021 Honda CRF125FB video series. We purchased this Honda dirt bike with hopes that adults and our growing kids will make memories and find adventure while riding it. We invite you to follow along as we ride this bike, evaluate it, and modify it to meet our needs.
    Modifications/Upgrades:
    #1 - Chain guard removed
    #2 - TrailTech Vapor Kit: www.trailtech....

    Can you tell me how you got the mounting clamp on the bar? Did you just stretch it wide enough to slide on? I'm afraid it will break, but there's no other way.

      I think I just stretched it on. Didn’t break.

    Great, clear, and concise installation video. I'm thinking of getting one for my Yamaha XT250. Thank you!

      Thanks Namdar. I hope it's helpful. I'm enjoying having it on the bike. The XT250 is a cool bike.

    What's your engine temperature after riding for a few minutes ? I installed it the same device in my 22 crf125f big wheel, the red light came out on dashboard is that normal or not?

      I haven't checked in a while. I'll have a look. I don't think a red light came on our dashboard.

    I just bought a 2022 crf125f big wheel, I'm going to pick her up next weekend, I trying to find one for my crf125, the link doesn't show price, I found some on ebay and Amazon, prices are around 170, and another site cost around 350 plus tax, how much did pay for yours? and what's the right part number, sku #

      How cool! I have loved my bike, and hope you enjoy yours. Here's what I suggest, and this is what I did...reach out to them via email or telephone and they can help you put together the exact parts/pieces you need. Those part numbers can change or update over time. But my experience with TrailTech has been very good, and their customer service was very good and helpful at getting me the right parts. Hope this helps.

    Does it work with Crf150r? Or you need to also bought and install Battery into the Dirt bike?.

    • @SouthwestORV
      @SouthwestORV  2 роки тому

      I’m unsure. I think it may be tougher with the 150R due to the battery scenario.

    Did you find the tachometer jumps around if you select screen 2 where RPM digits are displayed ? I installed this on a 2022 model CRF125FB and the idle appears low (should be approx 1400 RPM) and the RPM digits are not stable. I have ordered a tach lead with a resistor from Trail Tech to see if it addresses the issue. Just wondering if the same happens with your instal?

    • @SouthwestORV
      @SouthwestORV  2 роки тому

      Hi Paul. Mine does something similar, but seems to depend upon engine speed. Please let me know if your new tach lead does any better.

      @@SouthwestORV Unfortunately it didn't. I had a similar issue with the Vapor on a 2012 Polaris Ranger 500 EFI. I can only conclude that the Vapor maybe receiving interference either from the EFI or the ECM. The CRF125 has transistorised ignition and Trail Tech do not specifically include the MY21 or MY22 CRF125 as a model fitment for the Vapor. I tried altering the number of wraps around the spark plug lead but to no avail. It still is useful for speed, hours and temperature and I do have a Vapor working on a Honda CTX200 (Australian model) which has a conventional ignition and carburettor. I'm no mechanic but whether the tach lead can tap into the wire that feeds the coil might have better results ? The erratic tach appears to be a common problem with the Vapor and is mentioned in many bike forums.

    Do you have a direct link for the display the one in your description goes to multiple options not sure what to buy and tried to look up the model on the side of the box in your video and amazon says not compatible with a 2023 crf125fb even though its the same bike you have

    • @SouthwestORV
      @SouthwestORV  7 місяців тому

      I do not, I'm sorry. You might check the video description, I often put the direct links there. But over time they become useless. Here's what I did, I called them and told them what I was doing and they helped me get the right pieces and parts. They were super helpful for me, and I bet they will be for you too.

      Yes, same one! It’s universal, you just need to make sure you buy the right mounting equipment and sensors.

      @@SouthwestORV how would I know if I’m buying the right one the site gives me no info on the crf250f & does it come as a complete kit or I’ll have to piece everything together?

      I suggest you do what I do, and call them or email them your questions. They were very good about getting back to me and helping me get the right parts for mine.
