I'm an English female revert and this young lady just articulated what I've wanted to say since reverting almost twenty years ago - why did I do it? Because I recognised the societal chaos around me as being a BAD THING for me and all British people. My whole life was like one huge existential nightmare without Islam - now there is texture, context and meaning to my life, It's a wonderful feeling and it pains me to see these simple-minded racists misguiding other English people from acheiving the happiness that I've found.

I was “born” a Muslim but wallahi maturing is when realising that Islam is the actual way of life. Ever since I started to actually practice I have felt peace like never before. I was always told I was a Muslim but I never really knew much about Islam except that my parents prayed and we sometimes copied or that the Quran is the word of god and that we should memorise it as best we could. But as I got older I started to research and watch debates and that’s when I chose Islam for myself and honestly now I feel like a Muslim. I don’t know how to explain it but when you are guided you have a feeling of trust and peace. I didn’t feel that before even though I was “born a Muslim”. My parents also prevented extremism within my family by always saying this Somali proverb “Diinta ma adkee ee nafta haa u adkeyn” which means ‘Religion isn’t oppressive so don’t oppress your heart (in its name)” which always helped me when learning. Alhamdulillah ❤️☪️
Polygamy is actually ok in Islam, but Islam also says to only practice it if you can actually handle it and be fair to all of them. Otherwise, monogamy is the way to go.

Agree with everything she says except the "terrorism" part. Establishing a Shariah nation. Obeying that nations Amir. Fighting invaders of that nation tooth and nail is obligatory. Exercising qisas is not a blameworthy act in our deen, and in many instances commendable.
You're on the right path, but you need to research a little more broadly. Traditional scholars as well as more modern scholars (Hamza Yousef, Tariq Ramadan, Said Nasser...hundreds more). They will understand 21st century dynamics and have studied the historical sources too. Then your views might evolve somewhat.
@@adamhazan8112 Qur'an and Sunnah is for all time. Tariq Ramadan isn't horrible even though I disagree with many of his points. Hamza Yusef is a murtad who mocked and laughed at the Shariah. As well as one who defends the kuffar against the believers.
