You can buy a video out cable for the GoPro on Ebay, this fits in the USB port and connects via wire to your existing transmitter..I fitted this cable to my GoPro then to a immersion 5.8ghz 600mw with a mushroom antenna and it works a long range 1000ft+ so far. no need for a small 25mw antenna.
OUTSTANDING - this is perfect for camera operator video down-link.
Wish for feature. soft power cable to JST for Powering GoPro in flight as video out tend to kill the battery pretty quickly.
Actually this is also the perfect GoPro monitor setup for any type of GoPro shoot. great work.
Hey Ali, I saw a way to use a gimbal and still get that cool look of banked turns like you're really flying, only it's stabilized. I too love the real feeling of taking a ride, and this guy figured it out. Search this video: "Yaw / Roll Mix - Alexmos Brushless Gimbal Controller "
how would you attach this to a gopro if you're mounting on a h3-3d gimbal?... since the back is blocked?
i was gonna say the same plus no space for tilt, is there a way to put the antenna downwards? i would think the clover downwards would be better wouldn't it?

I think it's just a method you can use. I have only seen this one video. I would write the guy for more info. I'm sure it's on a forum somewhere. I still haven't got my first gimbal yet, but I'm keen to try this, as I love seeing banked turns. Of course level shots are wonderful, but to take someone on a fun ride with banked turns, AND be stabilized... WOW.
I can't wait I will take one as soon as you get it!
I see a couple of problems Ali...Firstly, if you mount the camera to a gimble, then as you rotate the camera the video signal will change in strength. eg:: flying away from you you can see clearly, but as soon as you ( for example ) rotate your camera down 90 degrees - your antenna is no longer pointing UPWARD but instead laying DOWN ( and forward - which is not good if you are behind the quad ).... - also the OTHER problem ( and a BIG one)... how do you possibly put an OSD in between the 2?

I am using my gopro 3+ black edition as CCTV camera, i am keeping my camera continuously turned ON and recording in 20 minutes loop mode at 1080p at 30 FPS for atleast 24 hours straight in a day. 5 days a week,
This was my need and gopro is doing awesome job. i needed something portable.
it is performing great. no issues at all so far. I have mains power socket just next to the location where i need my gopro, so I am powering the camera straight from the Mains Wall Socket.
MY CONCERN IS, THE LIFE OF GOPRO ITSELF... NOT THE BATTERY. WILL THIS DAMAGE MY GOPRO? I,E, LIFE OF THE GOPRO ITSELF GOING TO BE SHORTEN BY USING IT AS CCTV CAMERA AND RECORDING IT CONTINUOUSLY IN 20 MINUTES LOOP MODE?
IT GETS HOT, BUT NOT ABNORMALLY HOT.

Hi Ali, how are you. just if you like. i made a construccion site hat with camera screw on top to film my flights .where ever i looked the camara did too. so if you want to talk to the camara just hang a mirror somewhere and thats it. regards

No. Fatshark uses different channels. This is a Foxtech system (8ch). Fatshark (7ch)

But that gopro antenna does stick out too much in smaller gimbles, doesn't it?
It would be better if the you could have the antenna pointing down for anyone with a gimbal mount system. The antenna signal is going to be wasting a lot of signal back into the quad and gimbal.

Hello my friend, I'm currently trying to set up my first fpv experience! I hated the way all the popular "run-cam" feeds looked so I have spent countless hours trying to use my go pro or dash cam, or even "wyze" wifi security cams This is the route I'd like to go as I love the video vs and I already have a gopro hero 3 (+ I think? Silver? ) I need a video receiver right? Like goggles (w/antenna) or a cable/dongle for phone or tab? Everything right now is diy mainly for cost and my kids and I have always got a few projects in the works... also I believe FLITE TEST has an option using the 10piin cable but I can't seem to find link to either for more info for example , power specs because I'd like to get into more long range stuff with wings as well but can you please help? I'm sure you're very busy which I completely understand which I respect and and can appreciate even more! I don't really have any buddies in the hobby, however I'm doing all this with my lil kiddos which consequently puts more weight on my shoulders but feel free to just respond here to comment or I could even give you my email if even easier/better to text? I found the price of the products that were viewing the site, and often fail to buy because this "LITTLE" detail.
This would not work in my Gimble as the antenna is facing up and not down.

I think the video would not be flipped in your FPV gear. I think it only flips it as it records it.

Just set the GoPro to record upside down (very easy in the settings menu) , then mount it upside down and Bob's your uncle

You have the same problem as me: have a 16:9 camera, have a 16:9 monitor, but the picture is stretched on it. Why???? Gopro should fix it definetly.

gimbal times are gone my friend. now its time for flowstate stabilization. no more gimbals needed. New GoPros need no gimbal. their video is super stable already due to flowstate and realsteady type algorithms

@@alishanmao yeah. I use all my go pros. From 2 and up to my 10. I put the og one back in the case for display along with the very first first go pro they made which is a 35mm camera. I have that and the og on display in my office.

u can find 1.3ghz one video range test on my channel. i went 450 meters. with 5.8ghz its mostly with in 200 meters. I have not tried the patch or diversity yet, but will do soon

Wow, could have used this 17 years ago when I was heavy into UAV. Glitch free HD recording on board while streaming live to the ground. Closest we could come to the goal then was a board camera/external camera ran in parallel to a HI 8mm camcorder as a recording deck and patched to a 900mghz FM transmitter with a 2 mile standing range. Much recording from the ground but video loss is inevitable from time to time. See my channel if you want a trip back in time old school UAV. Like your channel!

It's a waste of time if you do anything involved with long range or low flying. It still is a neat setup though.
