What a great question. Palanthus, both beautiful and prosperous. I love the Tower of High Sorcery in Palanthus, property value is low around the tower. You could pick up a cheap fixer-upper. Imagine waking up in the morning and looking out the window at the Shoikan Grove and the black tower ... nice. Silvanost or Qualinost, beautiful and peaceful ... for about a week. Living with the elves would really piss me off, life-loving, tree-hugging vegans. Nowhere within a stone's throw of a kender community. Solace is a good suggestion. Gee you know, it would be really helpful if someone made a series of "Krynnish Travel Videos" ... on a UA-cam channel ... about Dragonlance.
THIS ONE IS MY FAVORITE. The excellent presentation of precise cartography makes this video perfect for showing to players new to Krynn as a primer on the milieu. Wondrous work! ~❌KT❌
The TotD set is awesome. Taladas has a much more melancholy, gritty, pulp feel. Great artwork by Stephen Fabian, too, and the double poster map is fantastic. It's a pity it doesn't get more recognition.
This is a great video. It would be really helpful to have one focused on the geography of Ansalon at the beginning of the War of the Lance, though-for all of us playing the new DragonLance campaign!
The other day I had a vague memory of reading the original trilogy years and years ago but that it was above my reading level at the time and hard to follow, now I look forward to revisiting, I love a good fleshed out world, or in this case, entire planet
I started a VERY ambitious fanfic epic based in Taladas. It had an opening where a Glass Sailor family arrived in a broken city to attend a yearly gathering and festival, only to be attacked and killed by a group of Aurim hobgoblins. One young man escaped, and made his way through some tunnels to be found by a group of gnomes. I had a grand vision where he was the last of the kings of Old Aurim, and would lead a coalition of peoples against a combined axis of Thenol, Fire minions, and evil dragons...ridden by a race of evil Irda who had hidden themselves for millennia. It was fun, haphazard, and insanely ambitious. It never had a chance LOL.
@DLSaga thanks! I had lots of ideas I thought were cool, but oddly, my favorite one was making the gnomes almost steam punk modern. I wrote a part where Isaac, the wandering Glass Sailor youth, stumbles into the ruins of a great subway train system that once connected all of the citadels. There was even illusory magic left behind; helpful assistants were still guiding people to different routes and describing the different citadels and what they offered. It was SO much fun to write!
Great work. I plan to run a 5th edition campaign on Krynn. I am not a fan of The Age of Mortals. I love how Krynn has evolved over time, both geographically and culturally. Here is a suggestion, how about doing focused videos on specific regions and how they have changed over the last three ages of Krynn? Solamnia through the ages, Silvanesti through the ages ... etc.

There is Adlatum, which is mentioned in a couple of Margaret Weis RPG books, Tasselhoff Map Pouch and Dragons of Krynn. There is a fan made sourcebook detailing Adlatum, but it is considered completely unofficial. I believe there is brief mention of Ansalon has more continents than that according to the 3.5e Dragonlance Campaign Setting that are currently unknown. Finally, there is the Isle of Gargath and the Isle of Ithin'carthia. Ithin'carthia is an island subcontinent where Ariakas got the Brutes, and the Isle of Gargath was the site of an adventure by Palin Majere and his brothers before the Chaos War. Both are depicted in the War of the Lance Map Pouch.
I will check them out. At the end of the 3.5 era, I was unsure what was fan made and what was ‘official’ as it was all blended together a bit. Thank you!
@@DLSaga There is also something else I forgot, somewhere east? of Mithas is an Isle with the Kazelati minotaurs, the descendants of Kaz and and his followers. That is mentioned in the Richard A Knaak minotaur books.
@@DLSaga Maybe using the gazeteer in the War of the Lance Sourcebook instead of the Dragonlance Campaign Setting since the Dragon Overlords destroyed entire countries in the 5th Age like Vantal, Kharolis, Kendermore and others.
