    Transcript
The most commonly known continent on Krynn is Ansalon. Ansalon sits in the southern hemisphere of Krynn. It is surrounded by the Sirion Sea to the west, the Turbidus ocean to the north, and the Courrain Ocean to the east. It’s southern border meets with the south pole and the continent of Chorane. The continent has changed greatly from the first to the second Cataclysm, so we will be focusing on the current timeline in the Age of Mortals. The continent is divided by the New Sea, Schallsea straits, the Straits of Algoni, Miremier, the Blood Sea, the Bay of Balifor, and the Khurman Sea. It is composed of the following regions.
Abansinia has no official capital. Haven is it’s largest city. It is primarily populated by Humans, Dwarves, Centaurs and Goblins. It is governed by a confederation of several states, or tribes. It is composed primarily of a diversity of grasslands, hills and forests.
Balifor (The Desolation), also has no official capital. It is populated primarily by Humans, Kender, Half-Elves, Half-Ogres and Goblins. It is governed tribally. This region was transformed by the dragon overlord Malystrix from deserts, grasslands and farmlands to barren wastelands.
The Blood Sea Isles capitals are Sea Reach, Lacynos, and Lalpethis. They are populated primarily by Humans, Minotaurs, and Kyrie. They are governed by Republic, Feudal and Empiric governments respectively. Though the First Cataclysm split the isles from the mainland, and caused a never ending storm to ravage the Blood Sea, the second Cataclysm calmed the storm and life is made primarily through fishing and trade.
Estwilde has no capital and is populated by humans, goblins, ogres, giants, centaurs and hill dwarves. It is governed tribally. It consists of dry grasslands, rugged foothills, pine forests, and high mountains. It was populated by three dragons in the early Age of Mortals.
Goodlund (The Desolation) has no capital. It’s population consists of Barbaric humans, kender, ogres, goblins, draconians, and sligs. This region was also teraformed by the great dragon overlord Malystrix from a mild region of forests and plains to a wasteland.
Hylo, has it’s own capital of the same name. It is populated by Kender, Humans, goblins and ogres. It is governed by a democratic oligarchy. Also known as Kenderhome, it is well guarded by the Sentinal mountains to the west and the straits of Algoni to the east.
Icereach has no capital. It is populated by Humans, Thanoi, Draconians and white dragons. Though it is a vast frozen landscape of an immense glacier, with freezing climates, it was claimed by twin dragons in the Age of Mortals.
Kharolis’ capital is Alsip. It is populated by humans, dwarves and ogres primarily. It’s governments are dictatorships and semi-independent tribes. This land was transformed by the dragon overlord Beryllinthranox, but in its absence has been repopulated.
Khur’s capital is Khuri-Khan. It is populated by nomads, goblins and ogres. It is governed by independent khanates. It’s diverse terrain consists of coasts, deserts, mountains and forests. It ranges from being perpetually dry and warm in the winter to blisteringly hot in the summer.
Neraka’s capital is Jelek. It’s populated by humans, ogres, hobgoblins and draconians. It's governed as a dictatorship and tribally. This region was once the center of all evil during the Age of Despair, it has now lost its prominence in the Age of Mortals.
Nightlund has no capital. It is populated by humans, draconians and the undead. It has a republican government. The eternal twilight of this region Takhisis laid down to conceal Lord Soth, is now gone in the Age of Mortals, and the sun now shines upon this gloom-ridden land.
Nordmaar’s capital is North Keep. It is populated entirely by nomads. Its governments are Feudal or tribal. Once a seat of the Red Dragonarmy, it was assaulted by shadow wights in the Chaos War, and seized in part by the black dragon Mohrlex...

What a great question. Palanthus, both beautiful and prosperous. I love the Tower of High Sorcery in Palanthus, property value is low around the tower. You could pick up a cheap fixer-upper. Imagine waking up in the morning and looking out the window at the Shoikan Grove and the black tower ... nice. Silvanost or Qualinost, beautiful and peaceful ... for about a week. Living with the elves would really piss me off, life-loving, tree-hugging vegans. Nowhere within a stone's throw of a kender community. Solace is a good suggestion. Gee you know, it would be really helpful if someone made a series of "Krynnish Travel Videos" ... on a UA-cam channel ... about Dragonlance.

The TotD set is awesome. Taladas has a much more melancholy, gritty, pulp feel. Great artwork by Stephen Fabian, too, and the double poster map is fantastic. It's a pity it doesn't get more recognition.

I started a VERY ambitious fanfic epic based in Taladas. It had an opening where a Glass Sailor family arrived in a broken city to attend a yearly gathering and festival, only to be attacked and killed by a group of Aurim hobgoblins. One young man escaped, and made his way through some tunnels to be found by a group of gnomes. I had a grand vision where he was the last of the kings of Old Aurim, and would lead a coalition of peoples against a combined axis of Thenol, Fire minions, and evil dragons...ridden by a race of evil Irda who had hidden themselves for millennia. It was fun, haphazard, and insanely ambitious. It never had a chance LOL.

@DLSaga thanks! I had lots of ideas I thought were cool, but oddly, my favorite one was making the gnomes almost steam punk modern. I wrote a part where Isaac, the wandering Glass Sailor youth, stumbles into the ruins of a great subway train system that once connected all of the citadels. There was even illusory magic left behind; helpful assistants were still guiding people to different routes and describing the different citadels and what they offered. It was SO much fun to write!

Well, if I recall, The gnomes of Taladas were radically different from the gnomes of Ansalon. The ones in Ansalon are the Tinker Gnomes, while the ones in Taladas are Thinker Gnomes. Thinker Gnomes look down and treat the Tinker Gnomes very poorly as incapable inventors. Thinker Gnomes act very similar to your typical Gnomes in other realms. They are much less compatible than the happy go lucky True Kender and The Afflicted Kender which have a similar mindset to Halflings in other realms.

There is Adlatum, which is mentioned in a couple of Margaret Weis RPG books, Tasselhoff Map Pouch and Dragons of Krynn. There is a fan made sourcebook detailing Adlatum, but it is considered completely unofficial.
I believe there is brief mention of Ansalon has more continents than that according to the 3.5e Dragonlance Campaign Setting that are currently unknown.
Finally, there is the Isle of Gargath and the Isle of Ithin'carthia. Ithin'carthia is an island subcontinent where Ariakas got the Brutes, and the Isle of Gargath was the site of an adventure by Palin Majere and his brothers before the Chaos War. Both are depicted in the War of the Lance Map Pouch.

You've forgotten to include the continent of Adlatum in the west.

    • @DLSaga

I didn't forget, I intentionally didn't as it's a fan creation that was later references a couple times. I will return in a future video to talk about it.

I have not. I stay away from fan made content. I may get into it at a later date though.

There were a number of land masses I didn’t mention. I won’t be adding fan made references until the official ones are mentioned. You can except a More Lands of Krynn video sometime.

@@DLSaga yeah I'm just eager for the deep dives into the geography of ansalon , it's special places described . I've read some things about adlatum from the dragonlance lexicon site but they keep changing or removing info making the clear picture of krynn difficult to visualize .the realms for instance is described in minute detail

Although the content and descriptions are good, the way you show it is disorientating to someone that is not accoustomed to the lands.

I can appreciate that. I tried to hang on the continent view as much as possible for context, but really wanted to feature the regions in this episode. I will be returning for More Lands of Krynn in the future.

Ugh, the age of Mortals sounds so stupid. It doesn't seem like real dragonlance at all. I found the video interesting at first, but the focus on the age of Mortals made me lose all interest.
