It's actually crazy when you compare them, how similar they sound for the $300 difference, not to mention needing extra gain to power it. Background noise removal is a plus though.
oddly enough this was the best video for setting up the shure sm7b that I've ever found because I'm generally new to xlr mics great video great content.
I love you videos I found your channel about a week ago when I was Researching the ducky one two mini before I bought it and I watched almost all of your videos you are a great UA-camr keep up the great work ♥️
The SM7 series started in the 80's "SM7 Case in Point: Michael Jackson's groundbreaking album Thriller. Quincy Jones and recording engineer Bruce Swedien used an SM7 for most of Michael's vocals and, according to legend, all of Vincent Price's". Its on their website.
The reason why you get pops is because the thing on it currently is a windscreen, which does reduce plosives, but doesn’t block them. You would want an actual pop filter that’s a few inches away from the mic to block the plosives.

@@vonix I think you should have gotten the full sized GoXLR instead of the mini. But that depends upon how you plan to use it and your budget. Both are very nice for sure.
One, its a cardioid mic so you kinda gotta have it facing you for it not to be quiet. Two ive used them for recording vocals and i swear down unless you live in an ironworks these things capture like no background noise. Its highly likely you've got the gain cranked on the pre amp and thats your issue
Holy shit?! Vonix??? Lmfao I haven’t been here since you were like 10 ARE YOUR BRACES OUT?! 😭😂 I used to be hard jealous of the setup you had now we both copping sm7bs 🤧👏🏽 good shit on the recommendation UA-cam lmao
Hey bro I have been watching for three years and I finally got UA-cam account so I can support I remember your old desk the black one and you apple keyboard keep the grind man good luck
I the SM7 is kinda overpowered for what you are doing because I feel like with a pop filter and EQ the AT2035 could sound about the same as your SM7, also I'd recommend using the big foam windscreen included and talking as close as you can without your lips touching the foam while you talk, also turn off all switches (except for the mid boost if you want)
Get a goxlr mini. You can get the audio to sound even better and you get better control over all your audio. Get the mini because the regular one is double the price just to get a voice changer and sampler. I run this mic with a goxlr mini and cloudlifter and I love it
Vonix: looking at subscribers setups Also Vonix: *sees a loose cable Vonix: *what the bleep bleep bleep bleep bleep is that!? Me: sees a loose cable in his setup Also me: you have activated my trap card
hay one is a low roll off and i high boost thats what thos switches do for the best results keep it flat olny use the base roll off if u sound boomy or ur recording a instrument then u may want the high boost and base roll off but for the most part form what i heard ur voice sounds fine with the settings as they are
When the guy goes on about his popfilter not working when he only has the sock ish one. Shouldve gotten the one to put onto the mic arm and in front of the mic (with a distance). The more distance from mouth to popfilter to mic, the less pops.
yup those windscreens don't work for condenser mics as there's no space between the microphone and the windscreen whereas on dynamic mics you can move it further back and create that space
It's actually crazy when you compare them, how similar they sound for the $300 difference, not to mention needing extra gain to power it. Background noise removal is a plus though.
holy almost at 100K thats crazy, its been a hell of a journey
@nomadicc yup bro
Yep
oddly enough this was the best video for setting up the shure sm7b that I've ever found because I'm generally new to xlr mics great video great content.
that was reaaaaally cool how you demonstrated the effects
Finally Vonix, love your vids m, keep motivating people, thank you for everything!

damn, congrats homie. sm7b is amazing
This mic did not come out in 1973. It came out in 2001. The Shure SM7 came out in 1973, a completely different microphone to the current one.
The SM7 series started in the 80's "SM7
Case in Point: Michael Jackson's groundbreaking album Thriller. Quincy Jones and recording engineer Bruce Swedien used an SM7 for most of Michael's vocals and, according to legend, all of Vincent Price's". Its on their website.

If you don’t need the Audio technica you know... jk great video lol

Ayyy whatup boysss
one thing you can upgrade is your tape on your acoustic foam 9:00
Love your channel ❤️❤️

Love ur videos ❤️
It sounded way better on the first mic tbh

Um, vonix.. that’s not a pop filter.. that’s a windscreen.. a pop filter is that fabric/metal mesh you see extending past the mic on a bendable arm
Exactly, I've been on that for years now
He spent 400$ because he didn’t have a pop filter
La tuya por las dudas 👊😎
Bruh finally
after recording with audacity did you do any change on the audio like compressing? or eq?
Am I the only one that loves watching people spend thousands of dollars?
U have to post more man we love the content
Notis, let’s get it vonix😼💪
It sounds so good! Thanks for the video!
I like these type of videos🔥 Like the video that’s on your channel Called Look what I actually bought
Very Epic!
thanks

Ain’t no way I’m 5 DAYS late
Less go boizz
“Livestreams are live” I would’ve never thought of that 😂
Love your videos man you should get more nano leaf lights
How is ur channel not bigger?!?!
I'm still using a Blue Yeti lol, but I'll definitely purchase a Shure mic eventually. Great vid!
100k come on so close
Ay he's back
I have a JTS TX-8 and have just ordered a SM7B and Cloud Lifter. Hope it is going to be good!
Bro remember when he got dark matter
the good old days
The guy needs some new headphones...
Beyerdynamic
1yr road to dream gaming setup
Did you add any post-filters on the Shure SM7B + Cloudlifter + Scarlett? Or was it a raw recording? Thanks!
Keep uploading
yeah gonna try my best to keep grinding
Vonix you got it stay motivated
Good job vony, how many points for the at2035 asking for a friend lol
buy a feww elgato key lights
If your running out of stuff to get I really suggest getting an oculus rift s. It's around 400 dollars but its worth the investment.
Not sure if anyone told u but, a goxlr or the rodecaster pro help with live compression. For livestreaming or to save time in post
You better give me that at35
Yo!! I love this series!! 🔥🔥🔥

yup those windscreens don't work for condenser mics as there's no space between the microphone and the windscreen whereas on dynamic mics you can move it further back and create that space
also who even talks straight into condenser mics when speaking, they usually have it off to the side since they're so sensitive anyway
Very cool! When you get the GoXLR, are you gonna make a video on it?
u should maybe get a keyboard cam
And the other reason it was low is because the microphone itself wasn’t facing you...🤦♂️
Gk61 gateron yellow switched keyboard it is the fastest or the apex pro tkl
U really need to upload more, please
Great
You should get a Herman Miller chair
Do you feel like its worth it after using it? Im thinking about getting one for my channel but I don't know if its worth that price tag.
This was his last video in that room 😢
Lol it’s still in my cart 🤣 I’d probably end up getting this rather then the new mv7
You don't need an inline preamp if you have a decent interface
are you going to save up for an a7iii now or are you going to wait for the release of the a7siii?
Mic quality difference not worth $500 but love your channel haha
