The seconds riddle has incorrect answers.
    1. It is impossible to determine from the picture alone that the individuals are tourists, for all we know this picture was set in someone's backyard. All we can conclude is that there are 3 people, not four, because we only actually see 3 people and 3 names. Using pure logic, the existence of the fourth spoon is irrelevant since the picture alone is insufficient information to determine its purpose (I mean it could be a serving spoon).
    2. Literally the only answer that uses logic. and subsequently the only correct answer on the list. (Since it's better to assume the spider wed is real in this context as there are no indications that it might be a decoration or in some other way non-naturally-occurring)
    3. Simply because they have oars doesn't mean they took a boat to the campsite, notice the complete lack of waterways in the picture, how would a boat even get there? They clearly walked or drove there, even if it was after they got off the boat, the fact they aren't near water means they would have had to have walked or driven the final distance.
    4. The presence of a chicken IN NO WAY AT ALL suggests the presence of a town. Towns are unlikely to have chickens, it's much more likely the chicken is from a farm, and since farms are typically not near towns, the presence of a chicken actually suggest the opposite. BUT since both of those situations are less likely than the situation in which the chicken is owned by one of the people in the picture (if you see an animal you think pet first, random stray second) the relative closeness of a town is completely indeterminable.
    5. That anecdote about the tree branches is so unequivocally incorrect and universally disproven I don't think I need to go into more detail (plus there is insufficient information to determine we are in the northern hemisphere).
    6. Since 5 was wrong, any assumptions based on 5 are also wrong, even if later proven to be correct, the assumptions are still incorrect because they are based on false information.
    7. There is no logic being applied here, you can't see a single hatched triangle, assume it's a net, assume that net is being held by someone, and then assume that someone is from this camp, then assume the name of the person from the camp is Alex. With absolutely no other information. I mean, the name Alex is being pulled out of thin air here.
    8. Given we have no information for what "on duty" means, we cannot make any assumptions that what any of them are doing is not "on duty", since we can't determine who is on duty, we can't determine who was on duty yesterday. Further, the single, non-united number on the "on duty" section is not indicative of a date, or a time, or anything other than a simple number value with no context.
    9. Again, the numbers on the "on duty" section have no units and are thus meaningless. Also, that "watermelon" could easily not be ripe, or be something totally different like a pumpkin. Given that the image is in black and white we lack sufficient information to determine what that round, striped object is, it could just as easily be a beach ball.
If you got those right, you're not special, you were able to somehow randomly guess a set of made up answers that have nothing to do with an image that was also shown.

      @eskilnyberg329 8 років тому

I agree to some extent, but this question was made for you to assume what happened, without sufficient evidence.
The Alex one was purely stupid, I thought the butterfly net was a flag: there was no handle visible.
The watermelon indication was also dumb, I got the date of the month, but that the watermelon would indicate the month? For all we know it could very well be from last year's harvest.
The time of day made sense, along with the spiderweb one (as you pointed out).
That the CHICKEN would indicate that there's a village nearby? It might very well be a barn out in the middle of nowhere, who knows.
And as for the boat question, I got it right but I still disagree with it. There wasn't any indication of other vehicles or methods of travel, other than their backpacks, which indicated walking/hiking. Their clothing isn't ideal for water-way travel, so if I hadn't known how people design these sorts of "puzzles", "quizzes" or "questions" - whichever you prefer, I would've (continued)

    • @eskilnyberg329
      @eskilnyberg329 8 років тому +1

assumed that they walked there for the purpose of river/forest monitoring (because of the "duty" part of things), and that's why they needed the boat. Perhaps the boat was situated there, left from previous expeditions.
But yes, questions like these tend to make very little sense, as though someone thought: "Okay, this is the situation... How can I leave a clue which doesn't determine anything for this to make some sense for people who don't question it. Oh! Like this!" etc. Basically, if you're looking for things that actually make logical sense... Just don't look on this channel

The first question is very old, so unfortunately I had seen it before.
The second question is very unfair. Many of the answers come from using incomplete or flawed logic. I did not even attempt to solve all 9 after realizing that even the first question was impossible to solve.
    1) There could have been people eating in the tent. And who says these guys are tourists? Could they not be campers?
    2) This one was mostly fine, and I got it right.
    3) This does not consider every possible scenario. They could have driven to this spot and taken a boat with them. You could easily hide a small boat behind the tent.
    4) They could have brought that chicken with them, and chickens do not live exclusively near villages anyway. This could be one that wandered off from a house miles away from any civilization.
    5) Saying that something generally happens one way in one part of the world does not account for all scenarios.
    6) This answer is based off of one that used flawed logic, and is therefore also unclear.
    7) Who says that the guy behind the tent is Alex? Alex could very easily be setting up that boat, and that other guy catching butterflies is a fifth tourist. And given the nature of your previous questions, I have to ask myself if somebody named Alex even exists in this group of people.
    8) What does "on duty" even mean? It could be a lot of things besides cooking. And I guess the guy looking through the bag can't be looking through anyone else's bag for something, and the C must stand for Colin, and not any last name. The same goes for the J on the other bag.
    9) 8 could mean a lot more things than just the date. It could easily be the number of days they've been there. And I've been eating ripe watermelon since June.
So, if only one question was fair, and I got that one right and properly explained why all of the others are flawed, do I get full credit for that question?
In addition, for the third question, you cannot even make out quite a few of the faces in 720p resolution and full-screen view, and I have better than 20/20 vision. I know exactly where the "faces" are now that you've pointed them out, but if I had to guess whether there was a face there or not after being told to look at that exact location, I would say no for faces 6-8. And if you're counting face 9 as a face, the definition of face has just become unclear enough for me to count the faces on the three birds and the face on the animal in the foreground.
I do not blame you in the slightest for using the given answers to questions that have gone viral. However, I strongly encourage you to play devil's advocate and work to find some way to prove your own questions unclear or impossible. Including alternative (but also correct) answers to some of your riddles lets us know that you are really thinking about these questions and that you are truly the most qualified guy to test our minds with brain teasers and logic puzzles.

Look at the duty board, 3 names are shown but one appears to be hidden behind the bush with a date right next to it. Since there are only 4 assumed named next to the dates eachh, we can only assume 4 people. It is obviously day because the man in the front has a shadow, as well as the bag, and I find that hard to not say its daytime, Plus, the fire is blowing towards the opposite of south, therefore proof where the wind blows. And, i agree the butterfly net was a little confusing, speaking for it looked like a flag.

  • @kennkong61
    @kennkong61 8 років тому +3

The third question assumes only humans have faces, and that things that only look like faces are faces. There are only five actual faces: three human (old man, woman, child) and two animal (dog and bird). Disembodied heads are merely representations of faces, not actual faces. If you disagree with this, trying eating a picture of an apple.

Make three squares in only two moves:
    1) remove the horizontal toothpick in the bottom left corner
    2) remove the vertical toothpick in the bottom left corner
    Four tourists Q6:
You'd expect this kind of cooking at dinner - so it's not morning.
    Four tourists Q5:
The wind is blowing from the north. One of the tourists is cooking dinner which means that it is late in the afternoon or early in the evening, so the shadow of this tourist comes from the sun setting in the west. The flag on the tent then indicates the wind blowing from the north.

    2:56
1: What if they brought an extra spoon to serve the watermelon, and what if the on duty list repeats a name?
2: It only takes an hour for a spider to spin a web, what if it started as soon as the tent was up?
3: What if this is their base camp for their canoeing day trips? they may have arrived by car, and set up before boating.
4: There is such a thing as wild chickens.
5: What if they are in the southern hemisphere, or near the bottom of a cliff, shading the trees most of the day, and causing them to grow bigger lims northward?
6: What if the shadows are the result of the flash of a camera, and its night? (or there in the southern hemisphere)
7: What if that net is resting on the bush, and alex is the one rummaging though colin's bag?
8: What if alex is on duty, which is why he is searching through colin's bag?
9: What if the numbers on the "on duty" sign relate to days spent on the trip, and the day 1 to day 6 list has been taken down?
finally: What if this is actually a wood carving made by an artist who wasn't thinking about the meaning of all those details when he/she carved it, and made most of them up?

  • @andynguyen7506

some of the questions about the picture were not completely correct or invalid:
    1. four spoons: they could've brought extra, in case they were lost (which is what i would do). four names: well, the last "name" could've been "leave 10" to mean that they were leaving, or something like that.
    3. They could've walked there; the oars could have been for going kayaking later. And where's the boat? They could've also driven there and left the car behind the bush.
    4. the chicken could've been wild (although extremely unlikely)
    5. what if they were in the southern hemisphere?
    6. because of (5)
    8. does "duty" mean "nighttime lookout" and not "cooking"?
    9. What if the watermelon ripened in september? www.pickyourown.org/OKharvestcalendar.htm
and apparently watermelons don't ripen after they're picked.

  • @pwhnckexstflajizdryvombqug9042
    @pwhnckexstflajizdryvombqug9042 8 років тому

The second one is so impossible you might as well not even put it on there. 1. They could be regular people that went camping on a beach. 2. Spider webs can be made in less than 3 hours. 3. They could have walked from anywhere. 4. That could be a rare wild chicken, or they own it. 5. I have forgotten what question is next, so I'll go to the question on who was on duty yesterday. They all were, those numbers refer to the hours, otherwise they would have an entire calendar. 6 Trees having larger leaves on one the south side only works in the northern hemisphere, there is nothing to say where this is. 7 Watermelons are available throughout the year. 8. You can't say what the date is anyway.

  • @bamootheelephant6448
    @bamootheelephant6448 8 років тому

For the first one you just have to remove one tooth pick. There are already 4 squares, so remove one on the edge to make it 3.
The second question is just dumb.
    2. A spider web could be built in a day
    3. Lots of people take a canoe on top of their car when they go camping.
    4. It's rare for non rural areas to have a chicken, the question was for a town not a village, and the chicken is unlikely to be let to roam freely.
    5. We don't know the hemisphere.
    6. We don't know the hemisphere
    7. There was no way of knowing his net was behind the tent just because a butterfly is there.
    8. "C" could be a design on the bag.
    9. Watermelon can be bought while ripe in any time of year.

  • @MrFlibbleflobble
    @MrFlibbleflobble 8 років тому

    1. was simple: I moved the bottom right horizontal one out of place then the bottom right vertical one out of place then moved one of them back, so I just got rid of one square. It was not specified that you HAD to make squares and you can't leave one unattached to another toothpick either. So I could just pick up one toothpick and move it a couple times.
    2. These answers don't make much sense. I have personally witnessed spiders taking less than a day to complete a spider's web, ores are NOT proof of how they arrived, it is very common for people to go in canoes when camping. We do not know that those people are tourists but the person with the camera is a suggestion. We do not know that there is anyone behind that bush yet alone if it is Alex. ..... Also this requires more general knowledge than logic.
    3. This question did not specify real or non-real faces, the big old man face is an illusion. 5 is as well and 6,7,8,9 are hard to spot but they are illusions as well. The sky is not a face just because those stones can seem to cut out 3 faces. Furthermore; Why is the dog's face is not included!? or the crows face? I can understand the crow's, as it is a little hard to see detail, I would'nt count the bird far in the distance as a face because it's so far away we can't tell if it's facing towards or away from us. I mean, cmon 7,8 and 9 are three non-real faces merged together! and you don't count the dog.

One the 2nd one, I found out that the wind was coming from the south because of the man's shadow. If there are four tourists, and one of them is missing, that means one of them is on duty. And people are only on duty in the morning. So, if the man's shadow is west of the man, the sun is in the east. And since the golf flag is facing the right, the wind is coming from the left. If backwards is east and forwards is west, left is south and right is north. BOOM.

    illogic puzzle:
3, or not, oars don't actually tell anything else, expect that they are probably going to use boat at some point. It is not uncommon to carry small boat across land
    4. oh, that is chicken? I have to say, it is hardly a common thing that chickens wander around. nothing in image suggest that it has *wandered* in the camp
7, Really? How do you know that Alex is not cooking? I think everyone who thought this, have fallen into a trap. Just because you cannot see Alex and cannot see his name, doesn't mean that they are same person.
8, What duty? Any of four things people are doing might mean 'duty', This is huge leap. Also it might be the peter who is catching butterflies. Even idea that those numbers are refer to days is silly(though next question hints that). What is 'duty': maybe they need to take photographs and that is duty, or catch butterflies. Again, huge, silly leap has been taken and justified only by knowing the answer.
9, really? Well that was stupid.

  • @jeffreyblack666

I'm sorry, number 2 is bullshit.
Just because they have oars doesn't mean they got here by boat. They could be planning on going out on a boat in a lake or the like and they drove there.
    Chicken aren't just in villages.
The branches do not indicate which direction is north and south. You have not established what tree it is or where it is.
You are assuming (not logically concluding) it is in the northern hemisphere so the trees are growing more towards the south where the sun would be.
Why assume that one is Alex? Why couldn't Alex or Peter be on duty (I will give you the assumption that Colin is rumaging through his bad not someone else and the bags are labelled based on first name)?
It is not clear enough for it to be a tripod. Even if it was, it could be one for a telescope.
While you can get 8, you can't get August. You can typically get watermelons all year round.
So no, I wasn't able to figure it out as it is based on numerous assumptions, not logic.
Seeing faces isn't a sign of genius, and you left out the dog's face.

Got almost everything right, but I believe there are 10 faces, look above the number 6, there is like a bird flying war away, which makes the shape of an eye, and the rest is completed by the bird standing still, is the face of a man, just on top of the woman's face.

The first one can be done differently first take the bottom right hand side one ( the vertical one ) and make it horzitonatl (either way) and swap the top middle one with the other bottom right hand one that makes three in three moves

I has most of them correct:
    1. I solved it. That was easy.
    2. 1. correct (I write correct when I has the exact same reasons.
    2. 2. correct
    2. 3. correct
    2. 4. Had the same answer but my reason was because of the watermelon. I thought it was in a normal forrest in the northern hemispehe, so they didn't found it in the Natur. And I asumed the all have just one of these backpacks, and there is no Space for clothes and things like that plus such a big melon. So they has to buy it near here.
    2. 5. correct. I thought its in the northern hemispehe because the forest Looks like a typical northern hemisphere one.
    2. 6. correct
    2. 7. I'm not great in english, and I thought on Duty means he has to buy things from the village. And I asumed that the net was just a flag which got stuck in the bush.
    2. 8. So if Alex is on duty today, James was yesterday.
    2. 9. the 10th. Didn't came up with a month because I didn't know thats what the question wants. But if I knew it, I couldnt came up with...

    • @derlilisimbaner6559

The correct reasoning, because I didn't know that watermelons are ripped in august.
      3. I saw all 9 of them.
So that means I have about 95% correct, or had my own good reasons.
Does that mean I'm a super Genius?

lol i said that the three of them teamed up and offered Alex to the village as sacrifice, in return the villagers gave them the chicken, and a boat and oars to escape the campground with. the spiderweb formed in a few days because alex's job was to clean the grounds, and because he dies, the dirt and spiderwebs built up.

Okay, before I look at the solution. There are four people, judging by the paper. The spider web attached to the tent shows that they've been there at least a day. Due to the paddles I guess they came by boat. I guess the date is the tenth and Alex is on duty and James yesterday. No idea about the rest. Edit: conclusion, I suck at this.
