Cheers from Burlington! My kids got me a furnace for Christmas (I guess my UA-cam addiction was obvious). Can't wait to fire it up!! Any recommendations on a "first melt" project? Side note, in a lifetime far, far away, like 25 years ago, I worked at the HomeDepot in Howell.
Welcome! 👍👍👍 A furnace is just the starting point. Definitely invest in some PPE. Also make some crucible pouring and lifting tongs that grab the crucible all around. My first melt was aluminum cans. They take forever, but to have the expert of melting aluminum cans is cool. Howell home Depot, I've never been there before it's a hike for me.

screen your sand finer over the pattern
I used to do that all the times, but realized it didn't make a difference.
You have a talent for this.
I love what I do 👍👍
