- How do the best prep for success? Check out the Santa Clara Vanguard front ensemble's lot routine from DCI Semifinals, August 10, 2018.
Santa Clara Vanguard performs exclusively on Dynasty marching percussion and Bergerault keyboards and timpani.
7/8 is such an incredibly versatile exercise, and it sounds nice too!

From 3:10 on is honestly my favorite sounding front ensemble exercise of all time. It's so pretty.

I want to audition for scv front ensemble when I'm in college (which won't be till 2021). does anyone who's in the group or was have any tips so I can practice?
if it helps I've been playing for 3 years.
Hey Erin, I played Xylophone for SCV this past summer and am marching this summer too. If you want to message me, I’d love to answer any questions you have.
@@TheTrevordeary hey man, I've been wanting to learn more about the process of auditioning and the requirements to join SCV, would yoy mind helping me out?
Trevor Deary hey! I know it wasn’t directed to me, but I am auditioning in Dallas this November! Can I message you as well??
Are they able to play with any technique that works for them like the battery or do they have a set technique?
We have a set technique! It's generally more sound-focused and kinder to your hands in comparison to other marching groups' techniques
Thank you! I hope to try out for Santa Clara Vanguard some day and wanted to know what kind of technique you guys used
Happy practicing!!
@@isantbell i wish i could have joined front ensemble for this year because I love yalls show in 2018. I learned how to play the first like 3 measures of yalls opening on marimba and vibes
@@isantbell what's the technique?
Late. But really flexing right in front of phantom regiment. -_- y'all are smoking something fierce. Not like that's allowed on tour tho
what scale rotation do they play?
What’s the exercise at 1:35
Let me borrow your toaster not sure what they call it but at my school it’s called My Favorite
Let me borrow your toaster “My Favorite” is what it seems to be called everywhere
@@brflynn17 Would you by chance have a PDF or a version of it that can be found online? I can't find the sheet music for it anywhere.
If you can find and old warm up packet for scv it should have it. Look for 2015 scv
