  • This lecture discuss in detail the possible motions at temporomandibular joint. The possible motions at TMJ are, Mandibular elevation and depression, Mandibular protrusion and retrusion, Mandibular lateral excursions( Right and Left lateral excursions). The biomechanics of all this motions along with their osteokinematic and arthokinematic movements are discussed in detail.
    Questions answered:
    1. Range of motion of Temporomandibular joint
    2. Temporomandibular joint motions
    3. Temporomandibular elevation and depression
    4. How to measure temporomandibular joint elevation and depression
    5. Functional range of motion of TMJ
    6. TMJ PROTRUSION AND RETRUSION
    7. TMJ LATERAL EXCRUSIONS

    Sir, how TM joint is used in swallowing?

    • @TonysTutorial
      @TonysTutorial  4 роки тому +2

      Sorry for delay...i didnt notice the comment...Yes TMJ had crucial role in swallowing because swallowing requires role of muscles around jaw to function to take food into throat, it requires some muscles to relax, at sams time some to contract and push food to throat. Further normal
      Range of motion of elvation and deprssion is very crucial for swallowing or chewing to occur, when range of motion decreases a lot ppl find it diffcult to open mouth or find diffuclt in swallowing and also chewing...some of actions are done by tongue in swallowing still tmj and muscles do have a role
