Plus you should not use the side of the grinding wheel

Really, although you are one very creative, toughtful mecanicien and woodworker, I wish to remind you that grinding on the side of the wheel might be very dangerous and results in its explosion. You could very well use the same principal on the outside rotary surface. This is said out of respect... just suscribed after seing your video about your sharpening guide. Kudos

    Good idea, poor execution...
You most likely ruined the temper.
ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS ((🥾🥾stomps foot, lights match🔥🔥)) only contact with the grinding wheel 2-3s then dip in water for a second or two, ten repeat. It will help keep the drill cool. If you heat It passed a certain point you could run the temper (make the steel soft). Soft MIGHT drill thru wood a few times. Good luck!

Might be fine to you, but if you took that bit to a machinist, he’d laugh at you. Just about everything you did want pass when put underneath the implements of measurement. The bit has to be raised as you push in and never twist, turn it. Buy a factory measurement tool to see if you got the right degree and both sides are equal. Try that and you’ll find out just how for off you are, night and day as many of us found out.
