It's been so damn long since we've gotten an actual Disney villain. I mean a classic, earnest to goodness villain. Not a "twist" villain, not a reverse twist villain (Where Te Ka turned out to be Te Fiti in Moana) but an actual villain who is evil for the sake of being evil and has a badass villain song! Tamatoa gave back that one little pop of flavor in Moana, but I've missed this type of villain so much!
Let's just hope they don't decide to ruin him/her afterwards like they did with Maleficent.
Please Disney. No twist villian, no sympathetic villian, and a villian song. THATS WHAT WE ALL WANT

I was against it from Maleficent onwards. I mean, the clue is in her NAME. She’s pure evil and that’s all one needs to know.
We need our queercoded villains back like Maleficent, Scar and etc. Great villains, we will always love them.

Yeah its a bit disappointing. Don't get me wrong, she looks BEAUTIFUL but she looks so close to Isabella that i actually thought it WAS HER at first! We have so many purple dressed princess already ((rapunzel, megara, esmeralda)) would be nice to see an orange one or just something totally different like black or white x
They're always so particular about the princess dresses looking different in the lineups, they now have 2 whole characters who look similar 😭

I'm actually really excited to hear about the use of the watercolor aesthetic making a return into the animation. I don't know how it would blend with the 3D but from Bambi to Watership Down to smaller projects watercolor adds such beauty to each scene.
Don't know why the goat is wearing a suit but I hope he follows the hoofprints of Djali and isn't just a useless fluffball.
Something along the lines of Netflix’s Klaus would be interesting.
As much as I hate to say it, in the last 5 or 10 years, all the animated features that have really wowed me have come from studios other than Disney. I am hoping this might be a return to form for them in their 100th year.
Puss in Boots The Last Wish had what I thought was a watercolor aesthetic. Anyway, it had an asethitc that I've only seen in drawings, like concept art or fantastic fanart. I never would have thought that they would like beautiful animated, but they do when it's done right.

Look. The way I see it, Disney has two options.
One: If the movie’s gonna be combined with CG Animation and Traditional Animation, their animation is gonna be like Bubble Guppies.
One: If the movie’s gonna be combined with CG Animation and Traditional Animation, their animation is gonna be like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

I imagine it’ll look a lot like Paperman, the Disney short from 2012. It had CG animation as a base but was cel-shaded and the final frames were hand manipulated (sometimes drawn over) to create the look of a handdrawn film. They’ve had over a decade to develop the technology and the workflow so it’s about time we see a feature length film from them that uses the technique.
Well not everything in Wish is going to look 2D and also those pots that we saw at the animation test of this year’s D23 that Asha it’s right next to you Are still CGI as usual
Star is so cute!! Reminds me of the Lumas in Super Mario Galaxy, a game that is very special to me! So I already like the characters a lot. A real villain again that must be defeated also sounds incredible. I'm wishing for another good movie, really hope I'll love this one!

Creativity would be really restricted if any little thing “copied” something else, and as a writer and artist I disapprove of such restrictiveness. I honestly hadn’t enjoyed anything from Disney lately, but since this one reminds me of something I love I just hope that maybe I’ll find myself liking something from Disney again…
@@Lizuma yeah, I even always say that all forms of creativity is formulated with some form of inspiration. Without a primary source to accumulate some form of inspiration, subjective concepts would be pursued with little to no creativity.
What I'm most looking forward to is the Two Animation Styles and rather or not if they could play nice with each other, I guess in short I'm looking forward how they decide to Balance the Two Animation Styles or are they going to choose one Animation Style over the other.

"Asha" is the Hindi word for "Wish". I hope there is an Indian connection in this movie. Never had an Indian connection in a Disney movie since Naveen in Princess and the Frog.
Jasmine's mom is Indian, explicitly so in the live-action Aladdin.

after Wish Disney may make Samson or Cryptozoologicon or Ramayana
**short synopsis of what we now about Samson** :
The main characters is Michael and his friends Gabriella, Jacob, Isaac, Nicolas, Lilly and Samuel who can transform into Biblical and figures from Persian, Egyptian and Mesopotamian mythology after reading the Bible, those being Samson, Delilah, Gilgamesh, Enkidu, Moses, Miriam and Anubis. Asmodeus comes to make a deal with Delilah but after he changes his mind and asks his helper Sheba. Samson and friends seek advice from Prophet Abraham who tells them to seek the Sacred Scripts from Semiramis Garden. Asmodeus steals the Box of Chaos and then, he transforms into Baphomet, releasing the monsters to destroy Jerusalem. Humbaba attacks the heroes, but Samson fights him, along with Gilgamesh and Enkidu and defeat him, but one mysterious girl leads them to Semiramis Garden. She turns out to be Semiramis herself and Nebuchadnezzar appears afterwards, but Baphomet turns into a snake and tells Delilah to eat an apple and the secret is revealed: Samson is Michael, Delilah is Gabriella, Gilgamesh is Jacob, Enkidu is Isaac, Moses is Nicolas, Miriam is Lilly and Anubis is Samuel and they get chased out of the town. Trying to cope with newly received hatred for them, Michael transforms into Samson after seeing the Philistines destroying the Jerusalem and the other prophets turn into Biblical figures and start the battle, but Delilah gets kidnapped by Humbaba and Samson and friends go to save her. Samson saves Delilah and fights with Humbaba, after which the Philistines attack and they kill Gilgamesh, Enkidu, Moses, Miriam and Anubis, which triggers Samson and he murders all of Philistines and Baphomet also manipulates fallen Philistines but Samson defeats them. Delilah brings Gilgamesh, Enkidu, Moses, Miriam and Anubis back to life, continuing to fight with Philistines and all of them get defeated. Samson fights with Baphomet and defeats him by pushing him into the Burning Bush. Everyone celebrates Samson as their hero, but Samson and his friends turn back into their normal form.
It is also going to have TV series based on it and if we go by the anime it is going to rip off, it is obviously going to be Disney's rip off of Shaman King

When this movie comes out, I would have graduated by then. Ill be out of school to focus on my own ventures, and I think that's amazing to think about. I can't wait to watch it.
If we get a villain like Horned King, all about wanting power and spreading evil for the sake of it (no second intentions or tragic backstories; it's in their nature being pure evil), then you got my attention. Might even give him a bit of suave and royal elegance from Scar and Maleficent if necessary.

I just hope she doesn't befriend the villain and the villain gets an awesome bad guy song that goes super hard to make up for the fact that we haven't had a bad guy song in years much less a bad guy to sing it
The last Disney villain song IMO was "Shiny" from Moana. I miss those sorts of badass villain songs.

I really want a Slavic princess with traditional Slavic clothing (kokoshnik, sarafan) but I highly doubt we’ll ever get one because Slavic culture pretty much has zero representation and acknowledgment in the western media 🤷♀️

My reaction to the trailer for Strange World was that looks like a stupid movie and it bombed at the theater
The majority of the sequel movies…Ralph Breaks the Internet Toy Story 4 and Frozen 2…dumb down characters who were beyond with it in terms of competence and they always make someone leave breaking up an iconic duo usually for selfish reasons…animation might be amazing but that is it
I saw Onward back in 2019 then forgot I watched it…but I did remember seeing and enjoying Call of the Wild
I wanted to go see Lightyear but it was pulled due to poor performance…meanwhile Minons Rise of Gru stayed in theaters for months and was another smash hit for the franchise
Heck at the Oscars on Sunday Disney only had 1 animated movie…Turning Red…nominated and it lost to Del Torro’s darker and far more creative Pinocchio on Netflix…amid the only 2 they did win were for Visual effects in Avatar and Costumes in Black Panther…they didn’t put out anything last year that was nominated
Honestly Coco was the last film I saw that hit it for me…emphasis on saw…everything I have seen for Encanto makes me want to watch it more…other recent films like Turning Red or Luca I will have to see…neither grabbed me in previews but they might be decent despite negative reviews
The company is just relying too much on past hits…TS 5 and Frozen 3 I think we’re already confirmed…sequels for older movies like Inside Out and Zootopia however might be good…but Disney needs to get away from the dumbing down characters and making others leave…both Disney and Pixar are doing this and everything is so predictable
