Melt and Pour Soap Making Measuring Molds Tutorial for Beginners

- This is a quick video on how I measure my soap mold before using a melt and pour soap base. It is not exact but is comes very close and has served me well over the years.
The column mold is done the same way. Or you can fill it with water and pour the water in the column mold into a mold that will sit on the scale.

Never known this method to work. Always leaves you with far less soap than is actually needed for the mould. I'd suggest if the water weight in the mould is 100g add another ⅕ or ¼ more of soap. For example (⅕ extra) 100 ÷ 5 = 20
100 + 20 = 120 grams.
¼ extra 100 ÷ 4 = 25 grams
100 + 25 = 125g.
Nothing worse than finding you haven't melted enough soap to fill your mould. Far better to have a little left over, use this to fill small insert moulds to use in other soap projects.
3.5 oz average for the bars, good to know!
