I think middle school if they are in extra curricular activities. I think elementary school should be a watch like you mentioned. I know garmin sells watches and there are other ones through cellphone carriers

When I was 6, I had a phone called a Firefly where you could only have 2 contacts, only call, no text, and I think it had a tracker in it. No apps or anything like that. Then again it was 2005 lol
@Aubree master girl it wasn't that anyone could track you or anything like that. It was the contacts in your phone who had that access. It was almost like a tiny landline and it was I think green or blue. Almost a Nokia but not? It's hard to explain because it's been 14-15 years but it was super safe.

We got our phones around 13. That’s back when the flip phones were getting popular. But we are gonna wait a while before our kids have phones. But we agree with you missy that we wanna be able to get ahold of them and know where they are. So hopefully apple does come out with a new kids watch that would be awesome!!

I got my first “real” phone this Christmas. I actually got the same one as my dad which is the iPhone 11. He opened his first and I was so happy that he go it but still kind of jealous. Then I found more presents for me in my dining room. I opened a box and realized it was the same box as my dad got his phone in and by then I started getting really excited. My brother opened the box and I saw it was a phone! I started crying in happiness because I recently had a iPhone 5 that died in two minutes and an iPad mini the had a broken charging port. I’m really thankful that I have a new phone and I am loving it so far!

I got my first phone when I was 11 because I went to a big school so then if I ever needed anyone to pick me up or if I was out with my friends my family would be able to get hold of me
I would say around when they start driving is a good time to get a phone. There is a watch you can get that's not Apple but you can still call and text them.

You could get them a Relay and you could track them and talk to them and they could talk back to you. It is also screen less. To talk to them you get an app. I also think it comes with a lanyard that they can put around their necks and they don't really have to hold it.
