An operator thats been in a seat for years can. out grade and faster then someone using grade control. They got on grade for a lot of years before this was invented just by setting stakes using level.
Eric Johnston if you think that learning how to use the GPS system efficiently is dumbing down you are uninformed and the costs of getting a Surveyer in to stake everything makes the GPS system superior in the long run.

I bet the computer can gage grade better than you
Takes all the fun out of grading, how do you expect to master the dozer, set the buttons and get on ur smart phone, play a game

Amazing tech. But if you don't know how to use it, like for someone who is renting a machine and doesn't have a grade plan, it's worthless, I guess.
I hate Trimble pos to work with!!! Can't beat Topcon 3 d touch screen..
These things dumb down an operator. A good operator can maintain grade by eye.
