Thank you for explaining this! I tried a girth like that on my horse with a forward set girth groove but it had all the pressure on the back edge of the girth on the bottom. I’m not sure what to try next. She’s a very large thoroughbred mare. Built slightly downhill with not much wither (wide tree) and sometimes it’s hard to get saddles to stay in place. They get pulled forward onto her shoulders. I think the forward set girth groove pulls the saddle forward so I tried the curved girth but it created the pressure point on the edge as you explained. Do you have any suggests on what type of girth to try ? She’s an event horse.
