It was 1996 April and it was my first and last time visit to Eden gardens. I never gathered the courage after that to go to the Eden gardens even during ipl matches. My father used to give me tickets…but I used to gift those to my friends and neighbors. I was in class 4 in 1996 and felt so stressed and sad for 3 months after the match. Finally I was emancipated in 2011 when india won. But by then, I had already decided never to visit Eden gardens again.

It was 1996 April and it was my first and last time visit to Eden gardens. I never gathered the courage after that to go to the Eden gardens even during ipl matches. My father used to give me tickets…but I used to gift those to my friends and neighbors. I was in class 4 in 1996 and felt so stressed and sad for 3 months after the match. Finally I was emancipated in 2011 when india won. But by then, I had already decided never to visit Eden gardens again.

After watching dada bat, I had all but totally lost my faith in the natural style, grace , fluency and skill, in terms of both talent and ability of left handed players, at least left handed cricketers and batsmen in particular. Even tennis players, or soccer players, for that matter. They are always such a treat and such a joy to watch. Does all style necessarily have to mean no substance, and all substance necessarily have to mean no style ? I don't think so. I am grateful to him for restoring it back to some extent. Ranatunga, Gower, Yuvraj, Kambli were not too bad batsmen . But my own assesment is they never play to their potential, never do their best in any game. If they did they would be show stoppers and show stealers . But left handed bowlers are not too bad either.
