The amount of content released for 4AD always blows me away. Sometimes I look at my 4AD shelf, and I'm just like "WOW! So many books!" :) I've been using the Deck of Many Dungeons for so many things lately. It's so cool!
And there's so much more that it's not even funny lol

I use the Deck of Many Dungeons for all my solo dungeon crawling needs, be it OD&D, Deathbringer, OSE, etc. They are a great resource. It’s good to see they work with 4AD.

Yes I agree with your assessment of the cards. As to Dungeonrunner-I’ve almost purchased it a couple of times but didn’t hit the trigger because it seems a bit too simplistic in gameplay
I agree, I’d like to see some RPG progression, party play, and possible world building tacked on. Then again your channel helps make that possible if the base system is intact!
i keep waiting for the rumored 4AD 2nd edition that may update and consolidate some of the text and rules...this deck may be solo gaming tool MVP! shows up in many places

@@GeekGamers01 agree on both counts! hesitant to invest in the print, and pdfs are hard for me to use...and yea, would love to see the same creator put out a wilderness deck!

Thanks for the comment and great question-I, too, like playing one character which is why I played d100 a lot more than 4 AD at the outset. That said, d100 is more of a grind in a way-stats increase slowly, quests feel long, there is more granularity to maintain (belt checks and the like). It feels darker thematically than 4AD, which has a lightness to most of it (not all books).
Both games suffer from not having all the main rules in one place so there can be flipping around between books, depending on what you are using/doing.
It’s hard for me to pick one over the other. They are quite different experiences & if you like this type of gameplay I would recommend playing them both.
To use a book analogy-d100 feels more like a single epic long heroic novel while 4AD feels more like shorter pulpy adventure novels.
Glad you enjoy my content and have fun with whatever you play. It’s hard to go wrong with these.
