    This brings back memories of the 1964 650 BSA I rode in SCOTLAND while I was stationed there 1967 to 1969. I shipped it back and wish I hadn't sold it. The handle bars and gauges, steering damper and seat are exactly like mine. Thank's for the memory,

    Great motors, had one that was the greatest... Was in 4th and slowed to make a turn dropped to 3rd and poured it on and the headlight exploded from the g's really was the best engine I've ever had...

    I had one, it was great, reliable, rode beautifully, and when it came up on the cam it would run with a fantastic sound.

    My first bike was a 1965 model. I loved it and really wish I had it back. Great bikes in their day, for sure ! A wonderful classic and it was a great ride.

    Superb.. rode my 1968 roller converted A65 Lightning over 100Km yesterday in Western Australia. Smooth as a turbine compared to the B44VR I've been riding in the UK. for the last 6 months. Miind you the B44 is superb too on the windy back lanes. Great video

    Vey nice, I was going to change to another video when the other bad music stoped. There is no better music than a twin in perfect condition like yours. Very short video though, for such a nice bike. Thanks for posting.

    Yamaha paid homage to the British twins, I had the BSA Thunderbolt in the 60s, the bought a Yamaha Heritage for my son to learn to ride in the 80s, while I rode my Goldwing. The Yamaha was nice, it just didnt capture the sound or feel of the Thunderbolt.

    Magnificent video. I also own a 67 lightning in the same colour and also with the clubman's bars. How do you get your front brake to work properly? Mine is very weak though well adjusted. The bike sounds glorious, are there any baffles in those mufflers? Thanks for posting ....Craig.

    In 1969 I bought a brand new 69 BSA Thunderbolt.. The engine ran good except for the constant stalling at stop lights.Considering the bike was literally the same thing for decades you think they would have worked out some of the bugs. The vibration was so bad the mirrors were useless, the front fender would come unbolted and fall on the tire while driving., but that was nothing compared to the death wobble at. speed. After 3700 miles I went back to Hondas.

  • @bsa1969

    Did you have to drop the tank to get your clubmans fit? My 69 tbolt tank is too close to the risers/bars to allow clearance for clubmans, but I love that look....

    • @karlosio1
      @karlosio1 3 роки тому

      You can solve this problem by fitting two bolts with counter nuts near the ball head and adjust them so the clubman bar won't hit the tank.

      Exactly what I was thinking. Obviously he's never come off or met anyone who has. Sunday night some bitch had a go at me for wearing a full face helmet on my 1970 BSA Lightning. I said that if I had a face like hers I 'd wear an open face too. I'm Cyclone Eddie, King of the Rockers.

      No, no... at first I thought he was on the wrong side of the road, driving on the right. Then it dawned on me- he IS on the correct side of the road. He's just driving in a civilized country, where we all drive on the right. Wonderful ride! Thank you very much.

    • @alancox1444

      I'd be chasing 650 barrels, pistons and head + 28mm premium Amal MK1 carb. Tim. There is no comparison. The A50 bottom end has a lighter flywheel and as a 650 it will amaze.
