The Mellow Star Shishito is my favorite to grow. Such a prolific pepper plant and they freeze very well in a vacuum game saver bag. Flash fry in EVOO then sea salt...perfect!
Honestly one of my favorite appetizers! One of my favorite restaurants down in the West Village of New York City had a phenomenal shishito pepper appetizer and every now and then you would get a "time bomb" that was scorching hot! I they were simple with flaky sea salt, but I love these tossed in the sauce!
This looks so good! I wish I could make this immediately, but availability is so spotty for Shishito peppers. Once i see them hitting the market again, I'll be sure to give it a go!
Sweeter yes, but you get tons more peppers if you pick them green. Red tells the plant to start shutting down. Just like when a cucumber turns yellow on the vine.

Okay, you made me laugh out loud, so I smashed “like” and “subscribe”.
haha yes!
I dont know if I'll ever try the shishitos, but I will definitely try that sauce stir fried on some beef or pork very soon!
Nice! Let me know how it goes 🥳🥳

I had to cave and grow them myself. 60 plants going now and my first peppers are getting harvested today!
I grow them in my garden. The peppers taste so much better if you allow the peppers to ripen to red.
nice!
