The black and white section is a reference to the old black and white movie called the "Grapes of Wrath". The movie was based on a book of the same name. It was about a bunch of Okie farmers from Oklahoma during the Great Depression traveling to California.
I mean in essence it would be. Almost everything requires an Internet access to work. Airports would be shut down and tons of businesses and banks would be closed until it was restored.

This came out at the time where kids had picked up technology way faster than most parents. Kids could bypass parental controls better than their parents. Younger Generations focus on learning and preparing for the world so they have more time to pick stuff up.

I lost internet last Friday due to the hurricane for like 24 hours and couldn't get on the internet with my 4g plan I restarted my phone and I still managed to watch your video from last Friday. Plus I have rokus in my house and couldn't watch TV because they are ran by internet.
Utah is mapped on a grid the numbers go down the closer you get to the main city. If the internet goes down here we will still have a point of reference if someone can give us coordinates. That being said I still rely heavily on GPS to get to places.
The majority of the references in here are from The Grapes of Wrath, both the book and the movie... I spent a whole summer torturing myself with that book as a kid because they actually assigned a book report over the summer, for your next grade's class! I hated that book and it made me hate the movie too... now I know them both all-too-well. 2009 I was in college...damn. I do miss my Blackberry though, even more than that I was a HUGE fan of Palm Pre and my favorite model was the Pixi. I miss that thing so much. I still have it in a box but it doesn't work.
