Who else here is excited for more epic WINTER camping adventures in the new van! I know I am! Congrats on the awesome new van Chad!! Will always be rooting for living the van life!
This van is a master piece, an absolutely amazing construction and so well made! The upgrade over the Westfalia is massive. Thanks for showing us around.
This is one of the nicest overland vehicles I have ever seen. I believe this is so close to the perfect balance between living off-grid and driving anywhere.
Just ignore the "You're just advertising" whiners. There's nothing wrong with being happy with products and brands and giving them a mention to help them or just show your happiness with them. In fact, it's good info for the rest of us! And, BTW, that's one bad-ass looking van! (Battle Born batteries are also made in USA)
My husband and I have just purchased a 38 foot camper to live in full time. I hope to ease him to a van or motor home eventually. I’m so impressed with the thought, care and planning that went in to your build. Bravo!
Totally understand your point about sponsors/products. I had several sponsors on a Jeep project I did, but they were companies I chose based on quality and what I was trying to do with the rig. I didn't just accept free stuff from random people and promote it. Everything I used was fully tested by me and I stood behind it 100% before I told my (much smaller) audience about it. I appreciate you doing the same thing, it's a very honest way of sharing information. Great video as always. Cheers.
I wish these folks who worry about “advertising” would either chill, or tune to another channel if it really offends them. Even if it is sponsored, so what?! A man needs to make a living! Keep the content coming! Cheers 🍻
To me the most impressive thing is how smoothly everything works, packing a big van with stuff is one thing, making it this functional and smooth is another, amazing build
That center light, on the top bar, you should modify the bracket such that, with the help of a servo (perhaps) you can control it from the inside of the vehicle. Also, get a cover for the spare, UV will kill it, unequally. Which means that it will be degraded on one side, and not on the other, causing it to fail faster than a regular tire.
When I built my fuso I would have loved to have a few sponsors. Nothing wrong with advertising the companies that have helped you out. Looks good, love the color.
The creativity and artistry of your videos is one of the things that keeps me coming back. Outstanding. A cut above the rest, in my opinion. Thanks as always for bringing us along on your adventures.

I think what stood out to me as the coolest portion of the van, was your outdoor kitchen. The fact that every aspect of the kitchen is set up on a pullout slide system, not only makes it super convenient and super easy to set up and use, but it’s also extremely fast to put away. The only thing I thought you were missing was an awning that covers the kitchen area so that you have some cover and protection from rain or snow while you’re cooking. Other than that, the kitchen is incredible. The entire build is incredible! Really nice job! 👍🏻😎
Just sat down to chill and immediately I get a notification of a Living The Van Life upload. Got to love these well timed gifts in life! Time to crack open a cold one 🍺👍
Same here, as soon as the notification popped up, I stretched down and started watching....you really make us dream man! Thanx Chad, Martijn from the Netherlands.
This is the first time that I, someone who prefers to be stationed in one place cought myself thinking about how amazing this space is to live in. So, not just watching and admiring, but wanting to experience it. You did phenomenal job adapting the sprinter!
A beautiful build I must say! What makes it more beautiful and close to the heart is the time and energy you put in to make it truly yours. Nothing like reaping the benefits of all your hard work🙌
Chad is such an absolute legend. Would love to know a guy like him. Love his positivity and his perseverance to give all us viewers great video after great video! Long may it continue! And if Chad happens to read this comment, much love from Ireland mate! One of my favourite channels on YT ✌🏻👏🏻
Finally a perfect 4x4 sprinter van tour..youre really the ONE chad..you make it sure that everything is on a perfect place in your van..thank u for sharing
U know Chad...Everytime u post ur new video,I always reserve my prime time at 9pm to watch ur content.its like watching movie to me.i really appreciate the effort u give to make a quality video.hail Chad n keep on truckin.
youtube recommended me that "winter storm in a van" video at like 4 am. its 8 am now, i already watched some vids from an old vw van, some vids with the new sprinter van build, and now im here. i gotta say, these 4 hours were really amazing. im so excited to show this to my gf and when the snow comes down i think we gonna rent a car and go camping ourselves for a couple of days. thank u Chad and greetings from Russia!
Funny thing, but that video was sent to me by UA-cam over a year ago too! Totally unsolicited! I had seen quite a few "amateurish" video efforts before but when I saw that one, all I could say was "WOW! This guy is really good. Oustanding in fact!" And I was hooked! Chad's effort at cinematography and "story-telling" in that video I think was his "tour de force". I've seen every one since and like all of us look forward to each new video. And he only gets better and better and better....
If you look for insulated trim, there's a few options for the portion of exposed metal in the back if your van. Those come with finish (various fabrics) or untrimmed, just the clip-on panels you can finish yourself. In theory, you can cut them to fit the exposed metal and finish them to continue the theme.
Really cool, I think for me I’d half that roof rack, fit solar panels to the roof, half that bed and fit a shower and toilet system. And try and see if I could fit a water heating system using the solar panels. I would then have the cooker inside the van and then use the storage under the bed. But a van like that really gives you so many options to play with, and still being rugged and 4X4 doesn’t hamper its ability to go anywhere.
Holy crap batman...the organization and accessories and upgrades...this is gotta be the BEST build I've ever seen Chad...seriously I have watched 1000's of hours of van rebuilds and you really did this so outstanding...WOW! Keep on truckin' my friend...
Your outdoor kitchen with the pullouts, extensions and flip up is just sick! That would make boiling water for ramen noodles an experience! Love everything about it.
I like to watch these overland camping videos, especially when they showcase thier builds. You've got the best build EVER!! It's my dream vehicle, like not just a built up van, your van. What a magnificent thing it is!! Great job brother Hello from New Zealand ✌🏾
Dude, don't even try explaining yourself to small people. Most people wake up, go to work, spend 8 hours in a cubicle and come home to indulge escapism with your videos. You worked hard. You earned your dollars. If you promote something or NOT, it doesn't matter to anyone but you. These videos are FREE and no one has the right to question you about the way you earn your living from affiliates. Do-your-thang! Much love!!
Mr. Chad, I just "discovered" you two days ago and I just wanna say how much I am glad about it. Mr, Chad, thank you! You've menaged to bring so much relaxation and piece that I nedeed in this crazy time, that I can't thank you enough for that! I LOVE watching you doing this and I feel like I'm there, really, in all of your camping adventures. So peacefull, so beutifull and so simple. You, sir, are a good man. Greetings from Croatia, I wish you all the best and, please, keep this beautifull story running!
Great video Chad, thanks for sharing! I really like how functional and organized everything is! I guess you don’t need solar panels, a toilet, or a shower, but that saves a lot of room! I think the most surprising thing to me was how little water on board, only 5 gallons? But great video, I’ll probably watch it another 10 times! 👍🏼
I agree with PezRacer, what about a dry toilet, my wife could do with an outside shower but being you have a nice heater what about the toilet. Rain, snow hail, if you're inside and warm n comfy you know your keeping up on your fluids. That's something that most women will ask. Where's my inside toilet.
True that, but the way he has set it out with no kitchen inside.....? Yer,na... Pain in the butt to boil the kettle! I hate to break the news to Chad but all the cooking smells are going to go straight inside anyway though the bloody big hole where the bed is anyway...as well as getting rained on making dinner!!!😂
Exzellent! Respect, very well done. The only thing I was looking for additionally would be a toilet and a (at least small) solar panel on the roof for constant batterie charge while not driving. But never the less. .. Brilliant concept. So cool. 😅
Can’t wait for the winter videos to commence. They really got me through the illegal lockdowns with my mental health. Getting back to nature is a must for everyone 🙏🏻
This guy has thought of everything. I seen him going to open the storage next to the stove and was thinking that he would take the top off and put it to the side but he installed hinges that rise up and he maximizes every space that he put in his fan. It’s the simple things but man is a genius
I should add also the fit and finish you’ve made makes it look like a proper commercial offering, something someone’s paid thousands for, not something made by yourself, it looks that good.
Jesus, you've literally thought about everything. The storage management on this sprinter has to be the best that I've seen up to this point. Everything serves a purpose, mad respect. Phenomenal build
Love the van. You deserve change for bringing so many beautiful places most of us will never be able to go. I am glued to your videos. Absolutely worth my time and you are deserving of any improvements in your means of transport. Thanks for your work in bringing our country to us on an individual basis. ❤️👍
That is one awesome build Chad. I've always been good with the tools so my build will be close to your idea but on a budget. Either way it will suit my needs. I've been watching your channel for some time now, and the places you drove the VW made me a little nervous. But this Benz? with a stock of toilet paper you can go anywhere!...lol. I can see many adventures to come...yep! Keep on truckin! 😎👍
You are a really different kind of dood. One I really like. I was surprised you have very little fresh water in your build. You have one of the most extensive builds I have ever seen, and little fresh water. Got to say I was very impressed.
Wow! Been waiting for this. Brilliant design taken from years of experience. Your Van builder buddy could make a LTVL model with a marketing $ % to you! That outdoor kitchen is awesome. The movable tops instead a a simple hinge: great idea! I wonder if a 270 degree awning would work above the open rear doors so the kitchen would be protected? And in a pinch your cast iron would work fine on a single burner induction cooktop inside for a quick-not smelly meal-like oatmeal when weather sucks. Could you add some of additional items to your Amazon links so you get a spiff? Lighting, trash cans, outlets to name a few. Tried and true beats guessing any day. Thanks!
I keep watching this video for ideas! Still living the Vanagon life (in my driveway. mostly and... yes, I suck) but I'm getting there on weekends! Thanks Chad for your inspiration!
Awesome! Was waiting on a tour of this!!! Who cares what anyone thinks about brand sponsorship? You put the work in and you deserve it. Folks out there always wanting to dump on anyone... 🙄
Chad you have done an amazing job of perfectly setting up this van build. I could go on and on with praise about it every inch is so unique and useful.
This man right here make me see the life different as I was always stressed working hard and basically forgot to enjoy the life . Tbh I can’t wait to finish work and go home cooking a nice meal in my backyard yard where my view is a lake and drink a nice wiskey. Keep going like that man !
Hey Chad, love it all! just curious your thoughts pros & cons of installing some type of a John as well to mention regarding a possible outdoor shower setup if ever perhaps to be on an extended off road journey? Nevertheless, I very much like and appreciate all your work and vlogs, new and old! ... keep on truckin!
The rear kitchen is my favorite. I agree with your philosophy of indoor cooking. Going to inspire me to rethink my garage to include the pullout drawers with the similar kitchen design. Just when I thought I was done. The irony is I don’t know if I’ll ever be done. Thanks for the inspiration.
From one of my fav vloggers....what an outstanding build Chad! Well thought out and truly a rolling abode that's very sustainable for simple, fairly inexpensive living....impressive! I'm sure you thought through a larger H2O tank to supply an instant hot water heater?? You very well might just be out of space. You could always mount the water heater on the outside and feed it with aux water supplies? Thanks.
Awesome build and perfectly designed. I love the idea that every piece of space is utilized wisely and neatly. I suggest that you make this design as a standard and call it LTVL Standard
Haters are gonna hate... don't give them 2 seconds of your life.. a lot of us just love what you do, no drama (but I do love to poke fun at pretty much everything) Keep on Truckin brother
Awesome build overall. I especially like the outside setting. Inside is also very cool and very functional. I was surprised you didn't plan and include a tiny bathroom area. But that's probably similar to the cooking decission: don't wanna have the smells inside 😂🌈🍻👍💪
I know nothing about this stuff but thumbs up for the build! I do have a question regarding the rear doors. Did you ponder about making what I would call a half door? If you were somewhere cold/rainy but needed to get access to something under the bed, instead of opening a full sized door, you just opened the bottom part thus protecting your bed/keeping the heat in?
This has to be one of the best outdoor-ready van builds 👏 SO many van lifers do builds customized for comfortable, modern, city dwelling and travel-friendly builds without taking in to account what the main point of living on the road is all about: being able to escape off road and live off the environment if a catastrophe takes place. I hope this is a motivation for all beginners looking in to this lifestyle. Props to you Chad. You're ready to weather the storm 🤙
@NinjaBooKitty I never said no one should be doing any other kind of van-lifing, I was just making a point as to why it's a great idea to be ready for whatever may happen
Man. You can tell you put a serious amount of thought into each part of your build. That cabinet build is masterful. It's good to have connections. Can't wait for the upcoming winter videos.
I HAVE A 2002 TOYOTA 4RUNER LIMITED WITH MOST OF THE SAME EQUIPMENT, OFF ROAD BUMPERS, LP9 PRO, 12K WINCH, BF KO2S (33") ON TRD 17" WHEELS, ORANGE BOARDS, SOLAR SHOWER TUBE ON TOP, ON BOARD COMPRESSOR. SAME D RINGS, EXCITED TO GET A SPRINTER I-4 DIESEL AND START OVER FOR SNOW BIRDING WESTERN USA. GREAT STUFF!!!
Hello from Berlin, this is another great video! We are always happy when you upload a new adventure. keep it up, keep on trucking. Best regards, Torben & Birgitta
Hi Chad, if you put your gas struts on your upper cabinets the opposite way (ie rod protrudes down) they will last much longer - the nitrogen wont leak out as fast. Looks awesome ! Im jealous!
Brother, you have a great channel and I enjoy every video you post. Your comments in early videos regarding Battle Born batteries was one of the reason I worked with them for our own camper upgrades. I appreciate all the information you put regarding your gear. But honestly, you don't need to explain or justify anything in your videos. Keep up the good work and travel safe.
Magical how Chad films the van in beast mode on the road -early scenes -and there is no dust on the lens. Some that know how may be laughing - to me it’s still film magic
It was great to see this tour after spending the last week or so with you. Definitely one of the best van builds out there with so much thoughtfulness and attention to detail. Looking forward to exploring Colorado and Utah with you soon!
Thanks I have been waiting for this tour, and boy was it worth it. I love the design it is so you, great to see you have not lost the Westfallia roots. Well done
Who else here is excited for more epic WINTER camping adventures in the new van! I know I am! Congrats on the awesome new van Chad!! Will always be rooting for living the van life!
Let’s go to Norway! 😂
winter vids are the best ones
i too enjoy the winter videos!
Winter camping is by far more intresting and challenging.
Good job Chad, keep going!
Need more winter camping in a snow storm blizzard

YUP ,.....YOU CAN TELL, HES DEAD SERIOUS WITH HIS VIDEOS
The whole setup is absolutely fantastic but I must admit that the lack of toilet makes me anxious! 😅
I'm thinking someone is going to combine an incinerator toilet and a diesel heater and make a killing.
@@glenneric1 with the hot poop air blowing inside of the vehicle? 😆
@@ZWill07 I believe the diesel heaters are dual counter circulating zones. The 'fuel' air is taken in from the outside and expelled to the outside. The 'conditioned' air is taken from the inside and expelled inside. They exchange heat through a heat exchanger. You'd have to put the waste in the fuel zone or some third zone.

Thanks.
In my opinion, this is one of the best, perfectly thought content channel, thank you Sir.
Amongst the other inspirations I’ve drawn from this channel, I started eating broccolini after watching a lot of LTVL 😂
Yeah, I can't get broccolini at major grocery stores in Denver, but Chad can get it at little places in Oregon. Bummer.
Just watched your van build out on EFA very impressive.Very happy to have more of your blogs up and running.
Awesome build and perfectly designed. I love the idea that every piece of space is utilized wisely and neatly. I suggest that you make this design as a standard and call it LTVL Standard
Dream build. You knocked it out of the park. You now have a van that is at the level of your Video making skills.
Who else thought there would be a toilet right underneath that seat?
That’s what the shovel is for 🤠
Me
Me too! He doesn’t have one?
Me. No toilet?
@@GT-qb9bg he doesn’t have a toilet or a shovel. He does have a many cameras.. 👀
Haters are gonna hate... don't give them 2 seconds of your life.. a lot of us just love what you do, no drama (but I do love to poke fun at pretty much everything)
Keep on Truckin brother
Awesome build overall. I especially like the outside setting. Inside is also very cool and very functional. I was surprised you didn't plan and include a tiny bathroom area. But that's probably similar to the cooking decission: don't wanna have the smells inside 😂🌈🍻👍💪
😄
Can you imagine the sloshing the blank tank would get rockin and rolling up that 4x4 terrain?
Really liked your adventures in the westy, "i have one" the sprinter "everyone has one" that can afford one.
Sup broski. New viewer here
I don't care about the semantics, ads and otherwise. I just enjoy adventuring with you and your videos. Carry on...
Ugh gross. Everyone has the right to their own way of doing van life. You don't get to gatekeep it.
@NinjaBooKitty I never said no one should be doing any other kind of van-lifing, I was just making a point as to why it's a great idea to be ready for whatever may happen
Does anyone have a time stamp where he mentions how he goes to the bathroom and how he showers?
He didnt.
@@TheWestlandgirl Thank you, I’ve been waiting 4 months for this answer
Man. You can tell you put a serious amount of thought into each part of your build. That cabinet build is masterful. It's good to have connections. Can't wait for the upcoming winter videos.
Chad…….WHERE’S THE TOILET?!?!?!?
That shot at 1:04 is nuts! Incredible build Chad.
Amazing ! All of that Chad is just a game changer for all LTVL enthusiast out there 👌👌👌
Great results from all your hard work Chad. I hope your son is recovering well too.
Yes thank you for all the knowledge and know how. Making things a bit easier for us
Absolutely amazing rig out, you've knocked it out the park by far my favourite UA-cam channel.

Love From India 🇮🇳 Awesome Van Tour,Keep Growing.LTVL 👍🏻
Loved this video, Chad. Was hoping for a cockpit overview as well, but it's not a deal breaker. Much love!
THAT VAN IS A DREAM COME TRUE!!! SOOL FUNCTIONALY COOL!!!
Like watching a maestro caressing his master piece, first class!
Thank you! Cheers!
Finally got to see the awesome new van designed by so much van life experience! I watched the whole thing in one go, So satisfying
Great built even Westfalia designer don't even imagined such space convenient Camper van
Well done
Chad your van turned out fantastic! You have the best videography I have seen on UA-cam. Love watching your adventures.
Wow, thanks Chad. I am so happy for you in getting your new glorious Van. You deserve it.
Thanks you guys. It was a hell of a project
