    Back watching this video again. Sometimes I don’t even have any intentions of making these things but I just enjoy watching you make things. lol. I love that you use things that can be easily obtained by most people. Plus you really remind me of my friend George. He was a big guy who owned a shoe repair shop. I used to sit there for hours during the day while he was working and watch him do his thing. Unfortunately he passed in 2007 from a pulmonary embolism. I think watching your vids brings me back to a more simple time in my life when i used to just enjoy hanging out with friends.

    Thank you, thank you, thank you. For this. I've been improvising with a few other items here and there mannequin heads, foam head on pipe etc. because the forms available for purchase are too expensive. This will help save so much time for each sculpt. Kudos and much thanks!!!

    I have read through the comments and it appears that you are using Ultracal 30 plaster. I have some left over Plaster of Paris that I can use on this for me. But I have to ask, what is the concern with Plaster of Paris?

    • @StiltbeastStudios
      @StiltbeastStudios  Рік тому

      its just not strong enough for mold making- it should be fine for this application.

    • @TheJoeFletch

      a wrinkle on a sculpt, becomes a sharp ridge of plaster, that breaks off really easy with POP. so the detail it can hold is limited by the tensile strength of the plaster

    I'm having a problem with my plaster wanting to flake off while sanding and yes there were plenty of holes and lines for plaster to hold on to. I keep reapplying, some mixture is thicker, some thinner. Since I don't plan on making many latex masks or even sculpting with clay on it, would it be okay to cover it in an acrylic caulk? I plan on making more EVA foam masks and head pieces with it.
