I love SOB! I tried for years to find this on I tunes. glad I found it here. One of my favorite old school rap albums. My favorite back when it came out.
This video has a very subtle message outlining the diversity of "black" music....reggae, r & b and yes, even hard rock...black folks can and have represented in all of those genres. Plus, it's some original ish which is always appreciated.
I remember when I was a Freshman in High School I was Jammin this on my walkman and when I got my car the next year I was Jammin this tume on my system. I would love to see more of the videos on youtube!
Thanks to all the people who have commented on our song good or bad because it means we made some kind of impact that you are having a conversation about. "well thawed out" our new project is reminiscent of our debut 20 years ago but also revolutionary as we continue to push the envelope on REAL hip hop! Again thanks for the love and support and your honesty keep it coming Love 1/2/pint- Son of Bazerk/ No Self Control
This kat was ahead of his time. This was one of the first tracks I ever heard that expressed diversity in music, esp coming from a hip hop artist. Mos Def did it later on in the decade.
"...mess with me & I'll smoke ya take the microphone cord, straight up choke ya! (yo kick that crab to da curb...)" Hot damn! This was the jawn & the album was all that on some other. Big respect to S-O-B and the No Self Control Band. Change the Style!
I got the 12" of this. Such a rare groove can't find this today. Classic and great production. Dude was also featured on the Juice soundtrack song #12 What Could Be Better Bitch. Wonder what he's up to today.
Thanx for the love everyone Hopefully we will be hittin you with some New RAW stuff soon we are trying to out together a reunion love ya 1/2pint of Son of Bazerk featuring No Self COntrol and the BAND!
I'LL BE DAMNED!!!! I've been looking for this song for YEARS! All you fans of lil gay wayne and the bullshit on the radio, listen up. THIS IS WHAT REAL HIP HOP IS ALL ABOUT.
Flava Flav was on Howard Stern and mentioned Son Of Bazerk. I thought I remember is had that song Change...Sure enough, here it is. I remember Ed and Dre would play this on on Yo Mtv Raps!
bazerk was and is New York finest, funky, rock all styles, held strong while busters made moves with money and those that dont know, tried to keep and sabotage hip hop, bazerk summarizes Jahguide and Protect
Please post "The Band Gets Swivey on the Wheels" if you've got it. It came out a few months after "Change the Style". Saw it on "Yo! MTV Raps" back in the day, but never since then.
Pick up the album "Bazerk Bazerk Bazerk" from 1991. Almost every cut is great. It's like a lost gem if you're a fan of Bomb Squad production style and haven't heard it before... Get it used for cheap, you'll be happy.
hey tommy never it's 1/2pint from Son of Bazerk how are you? what ya been up to? take care peace 1/2pint from Son of Bazerk featuring No Self Control and the Band
Plus it was given to him as a gift from Nardwuar where Mac Miller mentions that he listened to it as a kid and it was one of his favorite childhood inspiration/song?
@mercyilla Who did he steal anything from? James Brown? If that's the case, you need to start hating on Prince, Michael Jackson, and about 1000 other artists who owe their existence to Mr. Brown. That included ALL OF HIP HOP! As far as the beat being wack, I can respect your opinion. I would respectfully disagree.
Not to sound racist but I liked rap music when it was predominantly black. Shit even black people today are making this corny white washed type of shit the try to pass off as the evolution of Hip Hop. I grew up listening to Rap Music by rappers. "hip hop artists"? Fucking redundant saying anyways.
Yeah this song really does suck! That's why I spent some of the few dollars I had to buy the whole CD when it first came out and it was full of other songs that suck too. Ironically this crap was produced by one of the worst production teams in hip hop history. Good thing Puffy and the like drove them outta the game..
This is when rap and rap artists could still have fun with themselves to entertain instead of just front.
When I first heard this track in the early 90's, it got me teary eyed. Still does to this day!
I love SOB! I tried for years to find this on I tunes. glad I found it here. One of my favorite old school rap albums. My favorite back when it came out.
Bazerk was ahead of his time.
Would love to hear this kind of imaginative stuff again. The music world needs an enema - dig.

I love this song! I haven't heard it since like '91 or something.
AND FLAV TOO!!
Damn, thank you. I always appreciated this raw, L.I. group.
This was the cut man. One of the livest of '90. To combine so many "genres" was unheard when these cats did this. Thanks for posting.
I remember when I was a Freshman in High School I was Jammin this on my walkman and when I got my car the next year I was Jammin this tume on my system. I would love to see more of the videos on youtube!

Damm this is all over the A.D.D. map, I like it though.
Duuude, who is releasing Son of Berserk now? I need this shit on vinyl...people think I am crazy when I talk about "Five, Ten, Fifteen, Twenty!"...

The 'Most Dope" Mac Miller Brought me here
Appears it was Son of Bezerk who made Flav wear the clock, it was a dare!
He sampled that nice sound at 1:08-1:10 for his song Senior Skip Day
@aush1969
There is a techno trip to his game.
this is the real shyt..in yo face hip hop
this album was in "senior skip day" by mac miller hahah
Everyone nowadays is doing the same shit. Back then, no one was trying to sound the same.
@Rooster450xl word up!
gave Flava Flav his first clock.
Back in the days they experimented a bit at least, these dudes were something different, nowadays rap is all the same...
hard th first 35 yr old raper
They forgot bout long island hip hop
And people forgot that Flavor Flav produced this dude. And the name fits him....lol
