"I don't brag, I mostly boast." WORD
My favorite part
I always thought she was saying pose ("front") too. Like I dont brag bc ppl start getting weird. I pose bc im trying to dodge sh., here. Which I could brag but I guess ud hate me for no reason. But I could go through my levels of humbleness depending on how much u test me & the less u know, the better I'm off. 😅 she at least says piece, right? Or is that sarcasm in peace. Or a small petty... fraction of the entire universe? Bc sometimes my humor be dry.

When MTV didn't suck...........lol
Missy Elliott, Busta Rhymes, Outkast, Eminem and Ludacris have the most entertaining music videos in Hip-Hop history.
Nyah Crawford
Yesss
wish they were all still like this
+Randy H. That's because Missy, Busta, Kast, Em and Luda are legends
TheChronicDocumentary DreGame Damn right they are! When the topic of Hip-Hop lyricists come up, Ludacris needs to be brought more in conversation. I feel he doesn't get the respect he deserves as an MC.
Randy H. 15 Years In The Game and he's still killing it. and yeah you're right though.
Damn we need this energy back in music…. I grew up in the best era around
Me too! I was 16 when this came out 😄
We really do before I get too old I'm pushing 40 I need one last wave to enjoy
forget about DRE and co. ..
Best era hands down were 90s and early 2000s. All those songs and vids age really well.
Blackpill alert. These artists are only as popping as the vibes already in the air. They don't create it-- they sort of narrate it and take credit for it.
Same with NBA-- the games are ONLY, REPEAT ONLY as relavent as who's eyes are on them. Almost never the players themselves
Missy Elliot and Busta Rhymes ALWAYS had THE BEST visuals and ideas for their music videos.
and Eminem
@LeoE11 I wouldn't put Eminem in the same category with Missy and Busta when it comes to their original styles of doing their Music Videos. The Music Videos he did in the earlier part of his career I could see having a similar feel to them. Imo Busta and Missy have kept the same feel/energy they had in their early Music Videos, the ones that they started their careers out with, and have continued to keep true to that throughout their entire careers. By no means is this meant as any sort of negative dig at Eminem. He just went in a different direction and adopted a more serious tone with his visuals.
@@TheDukeOfDallasEminem ain’t nowhere in their league…
Outkast
also outkast!!!!
That Boy Luda killed it tho !!!
I miss Luda as a rapper hahahaha
I love how casual she dances
Ikr! Look cool as hell...

And casually lmfao

So weird that the Adidas logo gets blurred. Adidas is blessed to have Missy representing like this.
this was 2002, back when brands didn't really want to be associated with music videos, and they wanted you to pay them every single time the video aired, instead of making deals beforehand with the network. An unspoken rule that didn't really change until 07/08
It wasn’t blurred for a moment at the beginning
@@1rockcrawford Nah. Missy was a spokemodel back then, had commercials and everything. At this point she was only really supposed to be repping Adidas. The blurring is genuinely confusing, unless there's some thing about contracts that no longer exist.
@The Little Blerdmaid It has nothing to do with modern contracts, and all to do with this being the version that was aired on TV back in 2002. Even then, the logos were always blurred out. For a different example, on the end of Missy's video of "Lose Control/On & On" there's a line where she says she's "rocking classic Adidas", that, at the time of airing, was also edited, but is now intact here on youtube. More than likely, Viacom didn't have advertising agreements with Adidas at the time, that allowed for this. While this seems archaic and odd now, overt advertising in Music Videos was fairly uncommon until around 2007, thus changing the marketing models. Not to mention, UA-cam coming into existence.
I didn’t know it was adidas logo, I honestly thought t was something explicit lol 😂
Luda killed this though.
I like the stock
Whos back after throw it back? She really brought me back to the early 2000’s
Omg me
Lmao me too

Twitter brought me back to this song 🔥🔥🔥😂
She does brought me back to the past...love her
Missy always had fun revolutionary videos that weren't afraid to be different. She really put on for hip hop and black culture without leaving any races out of it. Everybody was apart of it as long as you respected it. Such a dope song.
Lol coming from a guy that has a Spock display pic, "revolutionary" kind of loses it's impact.

Missy Elliot has to be the greatest female rapper of all time. RIGHT?
IMHO Mc Lyte & Missy
Nicki is statistically the most successful - she's damn good too but I definitely agree that Missy, Kim, etc. are top notch

Queen Latifah?!

Timbaland's production with Missy's style and delivery was astonishing.
Yes, his ability to sample Frankie Smith is amazing. No one could copy other people's music quite like him.
Missy deserves a spot in the Hall of fame🎤💯
She's already been nominated for a spot since Feb
Yes she does

#Funfact: Missy made this song in response for the rumors critics spread about her. On her sexual orientation and her weight. The title "Gossip Folks" is a metaphor for people always talking about people when they need to mind their business
The problem with her, is that it quickly became seen as arrogance and pride. After Aaliyah, she was silenced forever.

+Deyna Ramos you're joking right
+Deyna Ramos Are you serious?..... Were you looking at rap back then, or even BEFORE then?.... Or are you a kid, who just IMAGINES that things were ever that way?
sir mix a lot- put 'em the glass. Early 90s. The Puppies- Funky Y2C, also early 90s, Miami bass rap of the late 80s and 90s, 2 live crew....come back to me after you look up those vids and hear those lyrics sung by children, and you will know that people definitely took it there long ago.
They definitely took it there back it the day but it was not the norm. You had plenty of rap/hip hop music you could play around kids. You can't play almost anything now around them except maybe a song with a dance.
The choreography, creativity and comedy in Missy’s music videos is iconic asf . Not to mention her dope lyrics . Definitely miss this era of music 💯
This choreography is one of my all time favorites

There's no other than Miss Elliot she'd a genius 👑
I think EVERYONE knows the real reason this is happening, and it ain't anything to do with her body of work (she hasn't done anything decent for years, anyway)
Just a bunch of soft-hearted liberal hand-wringers trying to 'make up' for years of 'neglect to certain parts of the 'community. I wonder what it's like, not earning stuff on merit but because of a meaningless sympathy vote?
Same thing is about to happen at the Oscars. Pathetic. Still, at least it gives me one less thing to care about. There are so many... :,)

I miss hip hop videos with choreography. It used to be so fun to watch now it seems like so many rappers just stand in one spot with close ups on their faces and their posse just sits behind them mean mugging at the camera. It's so boring.

@@EPrice-tu3of highly doubtful and i know this bc I’m a dancer & choreographer. She’s a good dancer & her videos are always good. But choreography is #1 very time consuming #2 tailored to many things- the song, dancers abilities, number of dancers, space, timing, set, etc. Yeah she probably wouldn’t allow anything she didn’t like, but she’s also hiring the best of the best so I’m sure she knows the skills of the choreographer before they’re even hired. They don’t get usually much recognition though, unfortunately.
