I just love how some countries have these type of phones that are like for temporary use. There's no such phone available here in the Philippines for some reason...
@@thomastommyson4370 I learned that it really depends on the prepaid carrier. Some will not let you use the phone unless you have a plan. I asked the guy at Walmart and he said the Straight Talk version of it, I won’t need to have a line to just play games. I have one and do a lot of emulation with barely any issues. Mobile games from the play store however, some lag a bunch and freeze the phone up.
My daily driver is the Galaxy S23 but this seems like the perfect phone to use as backup for just WiFi. Did it come factory unlocked out the box or did you have to pay to unlock it with straight talk?
Try the Nokia C110 I bought one as a backup just in case my good phone breaks or stops working I was going to buy that TCL phone you review but instead got the Nokia C110 so far good no slowness I downloaded all my apps even a DJ app just to try it if the phone can handle heavy apps yes it did handle it next I'll be buying that TCL you have ion on simple Mobile it looks just like my TCL 30 z just the same but that TCL doesn't have the v notch I hate that so definitely buying that TCL ION great video and thanks 👍
@@UndergroundTech you're welcome I love the way the Nokia c110 looks from the back like if it was much more expensive it reminds me of HTC phones from the back and I'm going to buy the phone you just reviewed looks nice 👍
@@kewlnes987 the Nokia c110 is way better than the TCL 30z the screen is way better the images looks nice I haven't experienced any slowness on the TCL the screen looks granny low quality the colors are not good on the images and the performance is slow it crashes all the time on the Nokia c110 I haven't experienced anything bad I thought it was going to be garbage but is not for $29.99 you get a decent phone that's what I paid for my phone I wouldn't recommend the TCL it glitches a lot don't like it
@@mscupcakedreamson36 good question, i would say no. Its honestly still a bit slow. You'd want to look at something at the $80-100 range at the very least so its less likely to freeze up or crash on you
Wow that's wild for $30. If it's locked can I keep it at home and give it to my kid to play games? Would it do any emulation like gba or super Nintendo?
Yes, its basically an ipod touch The gba emulator should work, not sure about super nintendo. If you have any specific emulators you'd recommend from the play store for super nintendo i might be able test it out
TCL ION V is the worst phone on the market it's super cheap and as the saying goes you get what you pay for. TCL stick to TV's and leave the cellular devices to Samsung and other companies that know about cellular devices
I have this phone and it sucks if Im playing a game and watch a video to increase my game stats the entire game will start over again this phone is trash

“It can always be rubbed off”…words I live by .
🤣🤣🤣
I went through my usual who ha of removing some background apps and noticed a huge uptick in performance.
Can you do contactless payment with this device
Just rooted and bootloader unlocked the Ion V. Working on a custom recovery and finding a suitable android GSI to replace the stock OS.
How do you do that, I'm having trouble rooting this
I am 100% interested for a vs video of the two
Great video!
