Love this woman's readings, heard her from Librivox days on, and she was by far the most eloquent and published for those audiobooks for people unable to read or see, before there was money in audiobooks.
I love how this story lulls you into an expectation but then it concludes that arc about halfway through and takes you on a journey you didn't expect. This is exactly why I started worldbuilding and writing stories myself. Great story and an excellent listen.
Another new author for me , I have not previously heard of Laird Barron , you are a real gem Morgan! Was saving this for bedtime but I can't resist ... early night for me so 😘
IN ALL SERIOUSNESS.. after scouring web for Cosmic Horror Audio YOUR voice/speed you recite is Far & Away thee BEST! How others gain undeserved view#s reading at the Speed of Honey.. in..monotone ..non inflected.. speech.. perturbes me to No End! this while your voice .. Ominously Honey Sweet .. SHOULD be "The Go To Standard" for Literature Audio! ..Steven Toast would be PROUD! ?😬...tho' I'm certain you receive requests..should it be possible..could you record more LAIRD or some from Langton's "Carnivores Sky?" ..OR.. (I know right ? but what the hell .. doesn't hurt to ask I suppose lol) any short stories from (preferably modern)Cosmic Horror authors like Tremblay, Vandemeer, Gaiman or tho' admittedly I have yet to crack 'The Lure of Devouring Light' by Michael Griffin ..I've heard a lot of amazing things of the stories there within. THANK YOU for what it is that you do; please continue to do so. 🖖 EDIT:Ha! seems I left you a message 2 years ago as well.. no matter I'll leave you another in another two 😉
I'd love to record more of Laird Barron. I can only record living authors with their permission though. Did you mean Wide Carnivorous Sky? I recorded a story by John Langan called Technicolour. Thank you!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE record more Laird Barron with that AMAZINGLY PERFECT VOICE !!👍
